I personally haven't seen this anime yet but just watching this I get the gist of what's going on and all I can say is that I'm disgusted and so upset that I'm bawling my eyes out for him cuz the trauma that he had to go through to become a good ballet dancer is sickening and I can honestly say that I will not shed any tears if that old lady dies not one single tear
My younger sister did ballet when she was 5-14 years old, she loved it but the teacher was brutal, it was a well-known academy, she performed in Austria, Italy, Germany, Spain and France. There were about 30-35 girls between the ages of 9 and 15 dancing day and night, the pointes (those painful shoes) wore out too quickly, she wore 6-8 per month, from 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Saturday, sometimes until 7 or 8 pm until Sunday if she had a performance. She had an accident and sprained both her ankles and her wrist, she couldn't dance for about 4 months (3 months and one more physiotherapy to help) the instructor was angry with her because the day she came back to class she was extremely stiff and had gone up a couple of pounds, she started a spartan training with my sister, all day she danced and stretched until her muscles gave out from the pressure, she came home in pain. The instructor wanted her to learn a dance that they had been practicing for 3 whole months in 3 weeks, because "a dancer, much more a ballerina, never stops dancing even in pain" i was the one who took her to the show, she made several mistakes, the instructor was furious, she took her by the arms and shook her, I was going to stop her but my sister told me not to be "exaggerated and noisy" (13yo teenagers be like), she yelled at her to practice the pirouettes over and over again and when she did a certain step that I don't remember the name of, she would bend her back all the way saying she should have practiced more. The next day I couldn't take it anymore seeing my sister literally howl crying because of a pain in her thigh and this time when she told me not to get involved I told her to shut up and get in the car. i saw her practicng she tried really hard but it was a 1 and half hours performance she just couldn't do it perfectly with so little time. At home she kept crying because the teacher was going to get even more angry and because of her pain. Her pain did not stop and we took her to the hospital, she had a sprain in her thigh ligament, she almost tore it for real, the doctors gave pain pills and the order of absolutely no ballet. We sued the teacher, she had to pay us and apologize to the girls, I think she was on the news. She got better and now she dances contemporary(? i think it was and all kinds of music she likes not just ballet Edit: Idk if anyone would care but my sister is now in a conservatory kinda thing, she dances on her own schedule and she got a job as a dance teacher for children that she enjoys so far, she even got her friend's(a physiotherapist) help to be sure the kids won't get hurt as they get strong and flexible enough, as an older sibling(of 10 children) i'm pretty proud of her

Im aballet teacher for kids(baby ballet - primary). Not all joining ballet want to be a professional ballerinas. Most of them just want to try ballet. So we make sure that the kids will enjoy the dance before they go to the next level level. I feel sorry to your sister. I know she love ballet but something went wrong. I hope, she's doing better now

The story is touching too, but the manga is still on release. The plot is about dance and ballet, but the message is far away from just that, it's a message of inspiration and self-believing. So, even if you don't like ballet, I reccomand to watch it because it really is a little pearl.
I was watching this when it first started releasing cause I literally finished watching welcome to the ballroom and the art looked similiar, best choice I ever made cause I sincerely loved it😭

0:36 Just seeing it makes me panic. I did ballet for 7 years and my teacher was very demanding, I couldn't do the splits completely and she wanted me to do it in two days (for the performance). She forced my legs until they were flat on the floor all at once (I cried in pain) but she said it was necessary (I was 12 years old), my mother freaked out at the teacher and took me out of the dance academy. Today I'm 24 years old and my left groin still hurts, I try to stretch every day so the pain doesn't get worse, I don't know if all teachers are like that or if I'm the unlucky one but I never want to do ballet again. Edit: I was very sad to see how many people suffered in the comments, I feel sorry for you guys.💀😟
@@conreliokrol2637 this anime is called dance dance danseur and I really enjoyed it. Except for a few things towards the end, it was interesting. It's not yet complete. the manga is ongoing and the anime season 1 is done for now. Not sure if we'll be getting more seasons
reading all these comments how people suffer from horrible teachers/trainers it makes me grateful for having a dance teacher that cares about me and my dance class's well beings just as much as she cares for our dancing as a dancer I get we have to train hard but what use is all that hard work if ur pushed to hard till ur body is too tired and hurt to the point where u won't be able to dance anymore ..and not just physically tired but mentally too-
Even though it's all beautiful and awesome, I'm still flinching seeing ballet and some other activities like it. It may be because I tried it when I was already a teen or the fact I never was especially flexible or thin😅 But I still remember the pain, just standing on your tiptoes for several minutes felt like endless torture, leaving the whole body tired and in pain, much more than ready to dance gracefully. That's why I also feel somewhat pitiful for people who do it, even if they endure it and get used to it. This kind of beauty is so hard won, but short-lived...

Тела персонажей часто слишком диформированны во время танца, это единственный минус большинства аниме про спорт, особенно такой сложный, это ведь не стандартный волейбол, а балет со своей хореографией и болью. Я занималась данным спортом и честно, никогда не плакала от вида всех этих растяжек. Это цена за то чтобы сиять, не каждый вынесет, мне наоборот не хватало этой боли и я ушла в фехтование, тут хоть немного веселей
Соглашусь насчет рисовки, но что есть, то есть :) Сама 11 лет занималась балетом, и для меня этот вид искусства был более негативным в психологическом плане, нежели в физическом

I dance and that guy really ... is a force of nature! And then I wanted to add a comment on dance: always remember that dance has no genres, females can dance just as males can dance too. I say this to all those boys and girls who want to dance: work your hardest and never give up because if you make an effort you will see that the results will come. Like this guy who basically didn't care about being dressed as a girl and did a beautiful gesture... he took off his shoes and started doing what he did best, dancing. This is why I tell you never give up!
