- Canon SX50 HS is a mega zoom camera which support 50x optical zoom at upto 200x digital zoom, it has a CMOS sensor which can shoot images upto 12.1 MP and is kind of a bridge camera and would be ideal for someone looking for a Mega Zoom camera. It also has a vari angle flexible LCD screen and it can also record videos upto 1080p and I do the unboxing and give you an hands on overview with this Canon SX50 HS.

after 8 years i must say that this camera still works like it worked on first day , not even have i replaced my battery once in these 8 years and i still love it

You said that the battery charger comes with a cable. No, it does not. The battery charger goes right into the electrical socket. For people asking about quality of pictures between this and the Sony, the Sony is by far the better camera, at 901,000 dots and the Canon at 402,000. But.....that being said, the Sony does not have a hot shoe for an external flash but the aperture is 2.8 so its better in low light situations. Also, you cannot use an automatic shutter release so when you put it on a tripod or need to not move it at all, you will have to press the shutter button manually. Canon has a hot shoe, auto shutter and shoots in RAW and Jpeg. So...if your looking for great zoom and great picture quality but nothing else, Sony.

No you cannot add external lens, it has a fixed lens this is not a DSLR, if you want interchangeable lens functionality have a look at DSLR, of mirror lens camera with interchangeable lens example Sony NEX series.

A Mobile nowadays can beat This
lol.... MP count is not everything and never equal to image quality..... I have a old DSLR that is just 6.1 MP but will beat the crap out of every camera phone even the 13 MP of LG G2 / Note 3 or the 20.1 MP Sony Xperia Z1 don't stand a chance in-front of it in terms of image quality.
if you think the camera just depends on MP..you don't know cameras....

***** I did not test this one yet, Depth of field I am not so sure how well it would handle compared to a DSLR, coz with a DSLR you can just put a 50mm 1.8f prime and get some great DOF and bokea effects, will check high ISO stuff etc and include that in review.
