They rotate the entrance dioramas every so often, the big space wolves Tyranids one use to be near the entrance of the main diorama. As they do in the main exhibition hall, the tomb kings used to be an Ork siege. It's truly an awesome space to get inspiration. I'm glad you enjoyed your first visit, Sophie
@CraftingChaoss Yeah, it's good to go back every so often. Changes tend to also happen around big launches too. I'll try show you what the Tomb Kings one use to be like on Insta
Me and my wife go about once every year or two as we only live about a 90 minute drive away. It's amazing to see all the dioramas and also the original units that were painted up for the box art or White Dwarf features. It's also great to see somewhere with pretty much all the current range of kits all in one place and available to buy. There is so much that comes out that never gets stocked in our local GW store. The only shame is that the lighting, glass and mirrors in the display cases make it really hard to get good photos.
I've been quite a few times, there's always something new to see. I can't imagine the number of hours they spent painting all the miniatures just for the dioramas alone.
yeah those are sculptures, not even a game board. They are on another level. Not hours but weeks and months to build with that level of detail. My hats off to anyone who has the patience to do those with that amount of detail. My favorite unit are the Grey Knights. Would love to see one of these with Grey Knights versus Chaos Demons.
@CraftingChaoss yeah, pretty amazing, haven't been for a while though, does it still have that massive diorama down the staircase? Probably over 1000 minis on it
I was a huge Warhammer fan as a kid/teenager, but quit around 1996/97. I sold ALL my miniatures - Fantasy/40K/Epic/various boxed games etc for about £20. 2018 I decided to start collecting and painting things again. It's one of the only things that keeps me sane in the modern world! Great escapism. Sometime over Xmas I plan to spend a day here.
Amazing video. Great job. Yes filming through glass is hard. Sometimes a polarization filter can help. You did a great job. Thanks for sharing with those of us that live on the other side of the puddle.
Entertaining and visually interesting video. The only downside is the high use of 'like' in your narrative. If you don't already, I suggest writing a script and following it, to reduce or remove the 'like's.
If you're ever in the UK, try and swing by. It doesn't take too long to go around all the dioramas but, at the same time, there's a lot to see there. There's also nothing that compares to seeing these huge dioramas in person
2:38 II like this, they've used the old GW Mighty Fortress kit there which you can no longer get but they've added some towers in the background, would love to know where those towers are from, the tops of the towers look like they have houses on them.
Why does that song sound familiar? Also I as a warhammer fan for over 12 years want to visit warhammer world so badly, and I live in the uk, you’d think most warhammer fans that’s been into it for that long would’ve already visited by now, and spot see a very gorgeous women being a warhammer fan is always amazing to see
I've wanted to go to Warhammer world for years now but I can never get around to it, something always gets in the way. I'm a fellow Dark Angels player as well, at the moment I'm painting Asmodai and I was wondering if you had any tips for the smoke effect? I have an idea but some extra inspiration wouldn't hurt.
You should definitely go! For the smoke I paint it white and then use the speed paint in shade ashen stone and gravelord grey and overlap them a little
I have a whole diorama of helms deep in my living room and i made a big section of minas tirith for another large diorama but have no where to put it. I also have plans for edoras and osgiliath but again no where to put it. I would dream of owning a space to make displays like this for all my models and terrain
Buying games workshop products is an ethical no-no from me. I go to Etsy or Raging Heroes, Trench Crusade etc. I hope someday GW gives up their anti-consumer practices
Raging Heroes are an utterly appalling company. Just look at the feedback they got for their many lies and failures in their Kickstarters over the years. I was one of the people who were ripped off on KS by those thieves - I'll never spend a penny on them again, and I have a box of half-assembled stuff of theirs gathering dust that I will never paint.
I’ve been there 3 times. I cried when I saw the Dark Angels display. For The Lion!
