Have you heard of Baby Signs? It's a Baby Einstein ripoff, which *I* grew up until I was five. There's a big bear wearing a blue shirt named Beebo, five CGI babies called the Diaper Doodles, and then there's two purple monkeys which look exactly like Baby Einstein puppets. It also has children signing the word. There are 6 words to sign for each video they make. The videos are Mealtime, Bathtime, Bedtime, Pets, Getting Dressed, The Park, Favorites, First Fun, and this rare, never-before-seen video called Sing Along With Beebo. It came out in 2004. The Favorites DVD is packaged in a square sleeve case, and it's also packaged on a regular DVD case from Discovery Toys Home Video.
This video was released in the year I was born, I wouldn't really call this a ripoff since it doesn't really feel like Baby Einstein to me, my biggest problem with this is how they present these words and letters, Melissa is honestly really annoying and I she literally looks and sounds very depressed while doing this and it just make this video feel very quiet and low energy, she literally goes over the shapes of each letter that gets really irritating with her just constantly going '' circle curve diagonal'' over and over again. It doesn't really feel focused either on what it's trying to teach, having Melissa on screen the whole time just takes the engagement away from it and makes it such a borefest to watch. The best Baby Einstein ripoffs in my opinion are Classical Baby (which I also don't think it's a ripoff, I doubt they had Baby Einstein in their mind while doing it) WeeSchool (which was created by Julie Clark so I won't count it cause she's the only one who can make this idea work) and Baby Faith, while it's also not that good, it at least has some heart in it cause it actually had some crew members involved who actually worked on the Baby Einstein videos like Mark Burr Dave and June Privett doing the puppet work, and surprisingly Bill Weisbach doing the music in those videos, and in some ways it feels like Baby Einstein but in biblical form.
melissa looks like she's being forced to do this shit too 😭
