I really like your store. Most of my equipment was bought from Reptile Garden. My gargoyle gecko that I got from your store is doing great.Keep up the good work!!
I recently bought two of these units from Reptile garden, it seems to be clicking none stop, I've followed the instructions on this video to set them up, is this clicking of the relays on both units something to be concerned about ? The clicking occurs every 5 to 10 seconds none stop.
Hi Craig, this might be due to you temperature settings and heating device/setup. If the values are set very close it will be turning on and off rapidly. I am assuming here that your start temps and end temps are very similar in 0,? value? You can try set it at 1.0 deg c difference. The clicking should be the relay and there should be an indicator light aswell. The fact that both units are doing it would make me think it is a setting/rig and not a faulty unit. A slow gradual heat with make it not as rapid. Your setup sounds like it is heating and cooling fast between supplying power and then turning off. Let me know if you come right otherwise you can whatsapp me 0847763537
You could connect 100 of them but obviously nit advised. Just remember the one without the probe will need ro be checked with a temp gun or thermometer to make sure it works. Then if the heat pad with the probe of the thermostat fails the other one or others will be on full tilt.
@@reptilegarden thank you so much , I do have a temp gun and digital thermometers in there tubs aswell and I check the tubs temps 4 times per day just to be on the safe side of things ,how does one connect two heat pads to one thermostat tho?
@@reptilegarden Sorry I think I may need to correct you. In a series circuit, the same amount of current flows through all the components placed in it. On the other hand, in parallel circuits, the components are placed in parallel with each other due to which the circuit splits the current flow.
If you have 6 wires you may have the temperature and humidity unit. So two wires out heating and 2 wires for humidity controller or fans. I don't have those yet and haven't worked with them. Hope that helps.
This thermostat keeps on dropping in temperatue for me. Is it perhaps the wiring being squashed by my enclosures lid or the position of the heating pad. Do you know what I can do to stop the temperature dropping?
Just go through you settings again as you might have a big differential so the thermostat is going to play in that range. Th3n check you dont have any damaged wires which are struggling to make a connection. Then lastly if your heating device is taking a long time to heat up but once off is cooling rapidly then you might not have the heat pad or such device working optimally.thos could cause it as the heat pad is struggling to heat everything depending on what it is in contact with. For instance ifnit is in contact with a table etc the heat is getting sucked into the table more that being focused into the cage. You can see when the unit is heating by the indicator light. Hope this helps.
@@reptilegarden One more thing, My tank has paper towels as it’s floor. Should I put the probe underneath the paper towels or next to my snake’s hide? Do you think that the paper towels could be interfering
@@Cyetfol No paper towel is no issue. Maybe the heat pad in contact with the based of the cage and the base of the cage being in contact with table etc. Heat gets sucked down. Having something to insulate the heat pad so heat is focused more up can work. Just check all aspects and work your way through.
There are much better connectors now ones that have levers or connectors that are heat shrink with solder on the inside .....like plumbing fitting that are presolderd . Thans for the video
Thanks James, yes we have seen those fitting and they are amazing. We just use the block connectors in the video as they are the most commonly available.
Ho hum - 15 minutes of wiring instructions, really? Programming, that's the basis for my tuning in. Does SET button need to be Pressed & Held during Up/Down temperature P0 & P1 settings? No mention of this requirement.
Yes really! If you read the heading is says' "wiring and programming". Why make two separate videos when you can just skip what is not relevant to your needs. Go to 13 min and 20 sec. I clearly say you just push the set button.
Great video, please can you tell me if the programmed temps stay even in the event of power being cut off i.e. timer?
Very clear explanation of settings. Thank-you.

Thank you! this did help! i have the previous model 3001 it works a little different could not get it to warm up my pad but with fiddling it works.
I’m setting it up the cable you get separate must you cut in in to 2pieces
The cable I supplied you with can be cut to what ever lenght you require.

Can two 9watt heatpads be connected to one thermostat like the one in the video? And if so how ?

@@craigsampson5325 connect them in parallel and not series. You can Google image if your not sure. Each heat pad must get full current.

Hi Great video... What happens if polarity got change.. ? Because I have 6 points were polarity is different in each.

I found the wire to be 22awg size. That is really too small to handle the supposed 10 amp rating.

How to canet w9001 thrmak set
Sorry I am not sure which unit you are referring to. I only cover the ones I have used personally. If you mean 3001 thennot is the same connections.
Can we get an update on the albino Gaboons???? They are the absolute most beautiful snakes ever created
They are going very well and I will maybe post once I have made the new enclosures.
Great video. It would been better if the programming part was explained slowly & your fingers not covering the buttons. God bless
Yes, it would have been better if I had a camera man. I am often working alone and on the move.
