This isnt like when we played LoL together and experimented with off-meta builds and gamemodes 6 years ago(yes I still remember that, although you went by a slightly different name back then. I believe you changed it when they reworked Master Yi back then. Good times). Anyway, most people only want fun on their own premise. Others are simply in the way. Even if they are on your own team. Sad, but that is the reality in 90% of the games where you have PUGs.

I have seen this so often and only now have I understood that this is a Lightwell and it heals me. I never thought it was a healing totem. I thought it was a mine or something, didn't even know if it was ours.
Flashbacks to healing in Wrath. Absolutely needing a macro so people knew the Lightwell even existed and to click on the damn thing. Things like, "Click the damn lightwell, or I let you die."

I dont think Ragnoros did that bad. He had much more siege damage and xp contribution than anyone on the team. He did die a lot, so he is not exactly free of blame(and some attitude), but at least he kept them in the game and he was the only character on the team who is forced to go into melee. KT did minimal damage, probably using most of his bombs on Murky who simply shielded/canceled it. He also died a lot. Sylvanas was nothing special either. I mean Hanzo had similar siege damage and far more hero damage compared to her. So the starplayers were Pally and Hanzo, with Rags and Sylv sharing 3rd(IMO, Rags did better of the 2) and KT at the very bottom. But that is QM for you.
The thing to remember with Anduin's healing numbers is that those are healing/SHIELDING numbers. So all the damage you block with Salvation counts there too.

I started playing Hots (again) a few weeks ago and went to your channel for inspiration. I'm so happy to see and hear that you are back. Love your energy!
There is even more synergies in this build. Varians legacy is a dot, which procs the 1st level talent heal multiple times per auto on top of it's innate 50% heal from damage it deals, reducing lightwell cooldown twice each tick. The dot also completely fills out your movespeed stacking from damage and you get the dot on your W too.
Play anduin with a team instead of quick match and you'd probably would be a top tier anduin player from what I have seen. Keep up the videos and never stray from the path my friend. ✌🤞
Andrew Finnell your right about the fact that the healing from damaging heroes does not come close to the cd nerf of your Q ability, but in the lightwell build it works very well. Especially when you also have varians legacy and moral compass since you will constantly heal your ally's for a small amount which will lower the cd of your lightwell.
Andrew Finnell btw now that I think about it, I think bold strategy is worth it. With Q you will heal for around 66 a second since it has a 4 sec cd and it heals for 270 at level one. When you take bold strategy this healing will go to 54 a second, so this is only a 12 healing a sec less with your Q alone. This means that your damaging heroes healing effect only has to proc twice in those 5 seconds for it to heal around the same amount a second in combination with the 54 your Q does. (Since at level 1 it heals for 33 everytime you deal damage so this results in around 13 more healing a second if it procs twice in those 5 seconds) This becomes extremely easy when you have moral compass and varians legacy so you start to make up for that lack of healing with your Q really quickly. Combine this with lightwell and your healing starts to skyrocket as seen in this Pally video. Now there are some downsides since you cant controll who you heal and it also has a bit less range then your Q, but overall I think that for the enormous amount of times the healing procs it makes up for that really well.
@@darkopz You're right about his low attacks speed, but the damaging an enemy hero for healing does not only activate with a basic attack, it activates when you deal damage to an enemy hero doesn't matter if it's physical or magical. I did completely forget about his renewal talent tho. This talent does give you're Q around a 32 heal a second more assuming you're able to hit a basic attack everytime. This would drop down to around 25 healing a second more to your Q if bold strategy is chosen. (I believe renewal heals for 127 over 5 seconds, not sure tho). With this knowledge you would still be able to get around the same healing with damaging hero's 3 times if you chose bold strategy. Since the difference went from 12 healing a second to 19 healing a second. I did also notice that Anduins healing with his Q seems to scale quite well. With this I mean that it seemed like Anduins healing numbers with his Q went up very fast with every level he gains. This could mean that all my calculations would be completely different if we would calculate it if Anduin was level 20, but I still think that his damaging hero's talent would be worth it at level 20 looking at how many small ticks of damage he does at that level. Tho I do think that it's also very dependent on what comp your team has and what comp the enemy team has. Bold strategy would definitely not be good in every game so I think it's just dependent on the match. I did enjoy discussing about this tho, hope you have a nice day 🙃
There are people who think he is really weak, and people who think he is stupid strong. I'm part of the latter. His trait is one of the most busted abilities in the game, just a get out of jail free card on a fairly short cooldown, since it is much better at saving lives than most single target protection abilities that have longer cooldowns. Imo I think Lightwell build is pretty weak, which is sadly what most people are taking, and probably why so many think he's weaker than he actually is. It puts too much reliance on your teammates to know what it does and when to stand in it, whereas the Inner Focus build is much more reliable against burst comps, and it lets the healer take the healing into their own hands. Everyone is arguing over the level 1 talents when they aren't really that important. If you're taking the Lightwell build, Bold Strategy is a must since it gives you the most ticks of healing, however for any other build, the level 1 talents don't really matter that much. They're all a small boost in healing one way or another, however Pursued by Grace is the most reliant on talent synergy like Varian's Legacy to be effective.

So there is no reason to not pick bold strategy because anything else is dumb strategy.
You gotta love it when there is teamfight going on and someone goes off on their own and complains that the team doesn't help them. Despite not even telling the team where they are going and themselves leaving the team in the first place.
It's frustrating when teams are too timid to push the core, but you did great and managed to heal a ridiculous amount. Was fun to watch pally! I hope to see more Anduin games in the near future.

Yes I understand that it would be broken if it worked this way, but can you not understand it'd be pretty cool if it did 2 incredibly good split pushers who never pushed, 3 players who were convinced that killing murky would unlock a secret victory screen but couldn't kill him, and a litany of bad decisions (including not taking core when offered) that just so happened to end with your decision to ult a dunk. Forget that dude you played like crazy to spoon feed your team the victory and they didn't want it
this match legit shows why i left over a year ago , unless you are in high master or grandmaster , people simply wont focus any objectives and will just wander around aimlessly
Holy shit I didn't realize that about lightwell! Its cooldown is reduced from ANY healing you do, including from both level 1 talents AND the autos from Moral Compass when you have the Autos heal allies level 1 talent. That ability literally has no cooldown.
When I play anduin (and I play him too much, I have had to go cold turkey) I run a idiot safe build, all talents that rely on only me to be effective, so thats renew at level 1 (bold strategy is sorta a trap talent, its situational not all the time pick), lightbomb at 10, since you can proc it on yourself to set a team fight up, Enchant boots at 13 so i dont need any help to escape, inner focus 16 mainly for the heal boost but the cooldown reset is really useful too, it has such a short cooldown on top of all that, making it work in practice like a team wide heal, and level 20 I mainly go Desperate prayer since it combos so well with inner focus. Play at the back of the team, and you can babysit them all to victory, there is no flashy plays, and no thanks given, but you can carry the team so hard without any appreciation, which is what we all expect from support isnt it...
I just can't stand watching videos with teammates that are that bad. I watch HotS on TH-cam to avoid that frustration in game. Ragnaros was almost definitely a bronze or silver player who thinks he's actually plat or something. He was playing like hot garbage, built horribly and kept making excuses instead of just playing better.
Sylv and KT were worse though. Barely contributed at all. And to be fair, it was unlikely that they would have been able to core. No minions to assist and Rags was on low health and oom. Pally was oom as well. Within the next 8 seconds they would have to deal with both Tyrande and Murky. So staying would have been a huge gamble. It might have been possible if Sylv had still been alive, but that was not the case.
Besides QM team mates walking out of your ult and dodging that W wave, I've also had a very special Zul'jin that simply ran back into the enemy team after I plucked him with my Leap of Faith, wasting that precious cooldown XD Sometimes I get the feeling they're doing it on purpose. The more you heal, the more they suicide. Ahhhh QM
Anduin feels just so good to me, so intuitive, that even, while mainly playing clown fiesta QM, he's currently my hero with the highest winrate. (atm omw to level 9, almost 20 games, winrate 76,5% and KDA 9,2.)
I think that Ragnaros can be pointed at for literally causing the loss at least 3 different times. Not finishing with that push and the last two team fights where he kept wandering off.
i would atribute the loss more to KT kuz while rag did all that he also had some good molten cores here and there + the lava waves were helping stop pushs, bot kt did fuck all, hell pally even almoust overtook him in dmg in a 30 min game :))

Dear Pally, the Lightwell disappears after healing 10 heroes or when recast. It doesn't just keep healing forever. It seems like at 15:10 when you first used the ability in this game you were under the impression that it was destroyed. I counted 9 heals. Maybe it even got off 10. But it doesn't stay around long. Also, is there something wrong with the quality of this video for everyone? Because even though I'm watching at 1080p it really seems to be worse than that. Edit: Second time you used it at around 15:27 you were again under the impression that it has been "killed". However, you can see that a 146hp heal goes off 9 times. Again, maybe it was 10 and I missed one since it doesn't look like it was taking damage when it disappeared. Actually I don't even know if the Lightwell can be damaged. Tyrande's owl didn't seem to hit it. ...Well, you figured it out. But w/e II typed this whole thing so I'm keeping it :P GLHF
Great video! A shame you couldn't carry your team! It be like that sometimes with supports in this game. My advice would be to try and play with a team. Anduin's kit is much better in a coordinated setting.
ah well, at least Anduin here can "save" them into the enemy's line of fire. WoW paladins just had to suck it. I did get my tanks to click it, by telling them they weren't getting Hand of Sacrifice if they didn't. That worked. Nobody else ever did though.
I know it doesn't fit into WoW lore, but it makes sence if you take into account Hearthstone. I think what would be cool if Anduin had a level 20 talent called Shadowform, that changes his abilities to shadow abilities. Like his Q transforms into mind blast and his E into like Mind Flay or something

I think he played Imperius a little when he was on PTR. That or whatever event featured Imperius on a special game build, so those games aren’t reflected on his main account.
Every time moral compass applies 2 varian's legacy, pursued by grace heals for 70(or whatever)x2x3, basically 500 health. It also heals for another 400 when your divine star hits their team. Its instatanious healing on the lowest health target and it's well worth the one second cooldown on your soncandary healing ability, flash heal.
@@sagi2dozetas Except you don't get ANY of that until level 20 in the best case scenario, and that's assuming the enemy team is clumping up enough to be hit by both Divine Star and the Varian's Legacy AA's from Divine Star. In any situation *outside* QM, taking Bold Strategy could potentially cost your team fights because you have a longer CD on one of your only two heals. And I'm pretty sure I don't need to mention that losing fights in the early game because you don't have a heal when its needed means your team is going to be hard pressed to make a comeback.
@@azurblueknights well, when was the last time pally uploaded a ranked game? Give QM tips to a QM player. Besides I didn't even mention it lowering lightwell's cooldown by so much.
@@sagi2dozetas Even in a QM setting, you're ignoring the fact that you need at least level 20 before Saved By Grace even becomes relevant. It'd be one thing if you could get Varian's Legacy at 13 or 16. But hinging your entire build on a single level 20 (when there are arguably much better options to pick) is kind of redundant, especially since a lot of QM games wont ever hit 20 anyway.
Since the lightwell lasts until a certain amount of healing, you could put them down in safe areas early and they'll just stay there until you need it, right?

I think you played really well, along with Hanzo. Maybe communicating a little more with your team could help. They didn't seem to understand what Lightwell does or why they should stand near it. They probably thought it was a scouting drone.
I remember you typed a lot in your older videos, since they are noobs it would help them know what to do. But anyway, great Anduin game! I really enjoyed it. Hope we can see you play Imperius one of these days.
Rag just using his ult on cooldown and not saving it to kill the zerg wave REALLY triggered me.
I know, right? The he picks two waves and instead clearing ctapults in bot and top, he sends both waves bot side-by-side.

2 incredibly good split pushers who never pushed, 3 players who were convinced that killing murky would unlock a secret victory screen but couldn't kill him, and a litany of bad decisions (including not taking core when offered) that just so happened to end with your decision to ult a dunk. Forget that dude you played like crazy to spoon feed your team the victory and they didn't want it
winning in qm when the entire enemy team dies is like herding cats
this match legit shows why i left over a year ago , unless you are in high master or grandmaster , people simply wont focus any objectives and will just wander around aimlessly

Holy shit I didn't realize that about lightwell! Its cooldown is reduced from ANY healing you do, including from both level 1 talents AND the autos from Moral Compass when you have the Autos heal allies level 1 talent. That ability literally has no cooldown.

When I play anduin (and I play him too much, I have had to go cold turkey) I run a idiot safe build, all talents that rely on only me to be effective, so thats renew at level 1 (bold strategy is sorta a trap talent, its situational not all the time pick), lightbomb at 10, since you can proc it on yourself to set a team fight up, Enchant boots at 13 so i dont need any help to escape, inner focus 16 mainly for the heal boost but the cooldown reset is really useful too, it has such a short cooldown on top of all that, making it work in practice like a team wide heal, and level 20 I mainly go Desperate prayer since it combos so well with inner focus.
Play at the back of the team, and you can babysit them all to victory, there is no flashy plays, and no thanks given, but you can carry the team so hard without any appreciation, which is what we all expect from support isnt it...
When pally wasn’t on heroes I stopped playing also. Now it’s hard for me to get back into it
I just can't stand watching videos with teammates that are that bad. I watch HotS on TH-cam to avoid that frustration in game. Ragnaros was almost definitely a bronze or silver player who thinks he's actually plat or something. He was playing like hot garbage, built horribly and kept making excuses instead of just playing better.

i was heartbroken for pally at 24:05 Most enemy heroes dead for 30+ seconds, core open... let's go get a camp.
Sylv and KT were worse though. Barely contributed at all.
And to be fair, it was unlikely that they would have been able to core. No minions to assist and Rags was on low health and oom. Pally was oom as well. Within the next 8 seconds they would have to deal with both Tyrande and Murky. So staying would have been a huge gamble.
It might have been possible if Sylv had still been alive, but that was not the case.
Besides QM team mates walking out of your ult and dodging that W wave, I've also had a very special Zul'jin that simply ran back into the enemy team after I plucked him with my Leap of Faith, wasting that precious cooldown XD Sometimes I get the feeling they're doing it on purpose. The more you heal, the more they suicide. Ahhhh QM
Anduin feels just so good to me, so intuitive, that even, while mainly playing clown fiesta QM, he's currently my hero with the highest winrate. (atm omw to level 9, almost 20 games, winrate 76,5% and KDA 9,2.)

I think that Ragnaros can be pointed at for literally causing the loss at least 3 different times. Not finishing with that push and the last two team fights where he kept wandering off.
i would atribute the loss more to KT kuz while rag did all that he also had some good molten cores here and there + the lava waves were helping stop pushs, bot kt did fuck all, hell pally even almoust overtook him in dmg in a 30 min game :))

Lightwell is immune. It expires once it heals enough times. You can't kill it.
I wish they gave it a more noticeable presence, it seems really easy to miss and is difficult to notice when in the midst of a tf

Dear Pally, the Lightwell disappears after healing 10 heroes or when recast. It doesn't just keep healing forever. It seems like at 15:10 when you first used the ability in this game you were under the impression that it was destroyed. I counted 9 heals. Maybe it even got off 10. But it doesn't stay around long.
Also, is there something wrong with the quality of this video for everyone? Because even though I'm watching at 1080p it really seems to be worse than that.
Edit: Second time you used it at around 15:27 you were again under the impression that it has been "killed". However, you can see that a 146hp heal goes off 9 times. Again, maybe it was 10 and I missed one since it doesn't look like it was taking damage when it disappeared. Actually I don't even know if the Lightwell can be damaged. Tyrande's owl didn't seem to hit it.

Lightbomb is so incredibly difficult to make work in QM.
Kind of like the Alex circle and to an extent, DC potions. Of course it's always worse on the weekends.
I'm pretty sure only healing allies reduces cool down, so any application on yourself shouldn't count. If I'm understanding it correctly.

Great video! A shame you couldn't carry your team! It be like that sometimes with supports in this game. My advice would be to try and play with a team. Anduin's kit is much better in a coordinated setting.

I did get my tanks to click it, by telling them they weren't getting Hand of Sacrifice if they didn't. That worked. Nobody else ever did though.
I know it doesn't fit into WoW lore, but it makes sence if you take into account Hearthstone. I think what would be cool if Anduin had a level 20 talent called Shadowform, that changes his abilities to shadow abilities. Like his Q transforms into mind blast and his E into like Mind Flay or something

I think he played Imperius a little when he was on PTR. That or whatever event featured Imperius on a special game build, so those games aren’t reflected on his main account.

See, the healing from Pursued by Grace just isn't high enough to cripple Anduin by making his Flash Heal have an extra second on its cool down.
Every time moral compass applies 2 varian's legacy, pursued by grace heals for 70(or whatever)x2x3, basically 500 health. It also heals for another 400 when your divine star hits their team. Its instatanious healing on the lowest health target and it's well worth the one second cooldown on your soncandary healing ability, flash heal.
@@sagi2dozetas Except you don't get ANY of that until level 20 in the best case scenario, and that's assuming the enemy team is clumping up enough to be hit by both Divine Star and the Varian's Legacy AA's from Divine Star. In any situation *outside* QM, taking Bold Strategy could potentially cost your team fights because you have a longer CD on one of your only two heals. And I'm pretty sure I don't need to mention that losing fights in the early game because you don't have a heal when its needed means your team is going to be hard pressed to make a comeback.

Besides I didn't even mention it lowering lightwell's cooldown by so much.
@@sagi2dozetas Even in a QM setting, you're ignoring the fact that you need at least level 20 before Saved By Grace even becomes relevant. It'd be one thing if you could get Varian's Legacy at 13 or 16. But hinging your entire build on a single level 20 (when there are arguably much better options to pick) is kind of redundant, especially since a lot of QM games wont ever hit 20 anyway.

Since the lightwell lasts until a certain amount of healing, you could put them down in safe areas early and they'll just stay there until you need it, right?
You can only have one lightwell out at a time, but you can do like Deckard and drop it down before you leave for people to use if they need to.
