- The 2021 Facelift Jeep Compass Model S tackling some slippery lake bed slush on a rainy day.
Many of you might be wondering if the new facelift Jeep Compass Model S 4X4 could be your next car, well you might also be wondering if the 4x4 badging has any punch to it or is it just a marketing ploy. we try to answer these questions by showing you this video of a Model S going through some slush on a lake bed. The video shows how the TC, brake differentials, intelligent 4X4, articulation and vehicle stability works on the new Jeep Compass.
As you can see the only worry was that the vehicle was new :) but the jeep compass took everything in its stride and went thru obstacles like a hot knife through butter.
We also have to note that this was the driver's first time ever going offroad, only goes on to prove that the driver aids and electronics in the Jeep Compass 2021 are of superior quality and help even novice offroaders explore such an off-beaten path.

What awesome off road capability this vehicle has. Excellent video. I was searching around for some real life display of its capability like this as I am seriously considering this same model. You can clearly see how the vehicle is shifting the power between the wheels searching for traction. It has handled the broken trail with utmost maturity.
Yes if you are considering buying it, I guess it probably the best soft roader in India currently….the tech assists the driver in a lot of ways :)

Yes, it is considered to be a soft roader, due to the GC, approach and departure angles these params limit the things it can do in offroad scenarios. Also it comes with HT tyres with absolutely no stock size options to upgrade to off-road tires.

HT Tires are designed and optimised to use on highways, they have docile thread patterns, yield less road noise and have better braking on tarmac....to offroad you need either All Terrain (AT) or Mud Terrain (MT) tires...
Jeep wheel dimensions are pretty peculiar in India and we dont get AT and MT tyres in stock size...we either have to upsize or downsize tires and rims to fit in an AT tyre...there are no MTs available in india that can fit on compass...you will need a lift kit installed on the compass and lift it by atleast 2 inches to even think of fitting bigger tyres

Sure, but we will not be able to match this as jeep doesnt offer 4X4 in petrol for the compass, but we will surely see how well we can display its capability. Subscribe tot he channel and keep and eye on the content :)

Very impressive. I have seen many Compass Trailhawk videos and after seeing this i can say that apart from the approach and departure angles this model S version is a perfectly capable offroader in it's own right. Particularly when you realise that the Trailhawk badge comes with a premium pricing that might not be worth it given the mediocre offroad capabilities compared to other true blue offroaders available.

How do you think the 4x2 will perform on a similar track? At least, on the track shown in the first half of the video up till 2 minutes.
4X2 with a lot of wheel spins can do the first half of this track…you will be surprised to know that a 4X2 with Cooper AT tires did the whole track but took a easier line near the slush…you should try it sometimes it’s fun:) but do have some 4X4s around to pull you out as you are bound to get stuck somewhere
Slush mat is provided as a standard accessory which can be inserted which will get better additional traction. I saw the process, it did the job pretty well

Update after almost a year of following multiple Jeep Compass videos. Now a proud owner of the S 4x4 in bright white and grey roof. To anyone who's got a question whether the white colour is a solid or metallic paint, it is a metallic colour more like pearl white. Got it in Jan 2023 just before the latest price hike. I can confidently say that this video has played the most substantial role in my decision. Thanks to all here 😊

Normal road tires...Bridgestone Turanza...He was on the mud mode in 4X4...It difficult to get ATs for R18s in India :(

All done with highway tyres.. it can do it easily with mud or at tyres

Yes we do…but this was only till the previous model…the 2021 facelift came in only with the normal ones…Trailhawk is expected again in 2022
Engine sounds like a diesel. Didn’t do too bad with street tires, though.
Dude compass 4x4 is Available only in diesel variant.. and they are not street tyres they are dual purpose tyres...

@@prashant9169 I didn't say anything was bad. I was just making an observation. The US market Compasses don't offer the diesel engine or the 'S' model. As for the tires, here in the US the only model that doesn't have 'street' (all-season) tires is the Trailhawk which is designed for offroading with a different suspension and heavier tread 'on/offroad' tires.

@@ramboog2654 every turbo system have a waste gate, which allows excess air formed while high acceleration. So this air pass through waste gate in turbo, which also know as blow off valve. If you know about these things you can easily understand the hissing sound while accelerating 0|||||||0 Compass😇. 2.0L MJD is gem of engine💎❤️💋💋

I've a Jeep Compass 4*4.!
4wd does nothing when struck somewhere!!
And there is no option to lock all 4 wheels!!!
( Drive MODES are USELESS )
there is no diff lock in Manual....the auto comes with EBD so has a pseudo diff lock.
I don't understand why people are afraid of the throttle... with these vehicles.. when they slip.. you stay ON throttle... not off... The computer will sort it out...
Our intention is to bring people who are new to off-roading and give them a sense of what a machine can do…this driver especially was driving off-road for the first time in his life…he did phenomenally well for a first timer..

@@trailgator4x4 agree to you..... off-roading is not a 1 day expertise. Needs time behind the wheels on such terrains. Considering this, the new Jeeper did manage to pull it off nicely.
Ground clearance very lower .. i think its lower than creta 😂
The new JC has 200mm in clearance as opposed to 185 on creta

@@pratapfeelinggood creta fudu gadi hai , jalne wali baat nahi off-roader gadi ka minimum ground clearance 225mm hona chahiye. Compass sirf sofat off roading ke liye bani hai ..
well these are values i have measured myself...a lot of it depends on what load was there on the vehicle at that point in time, unladen (claimed) ground clerance of the vehicles might be ~+5-10 mm.

Sorry, the Jeep Compass fails miserably.. This mild offroading, shows the Jeeps weakness, too much wheel spin, very poor GC, poor low end torque.
In a real ilfe scenario or moderate trails, it would get stuck very easily.
This car was designed for the road and 4wd option is probably given to tide over an emergency situation.
Guys do not off-road in this car.
Come on Now...lets not bee too pessimistic here....we have some craazy offroad videos in the jeep compass...yes agree the clearance is low, and tyres are shit....but thats were mods come in to picture...

Pathetic! Any decent 4x4 should handle this easily. Indian cars are terrible versions of their originals. This car is struggling. A salon car bought in any other country will glide through this .
