... blinking in awe... this is beyond words how amazingly helpful this is,, dayem! I recall before as well how you commented to me to 'milk that C ' and then I see this vid,, how you keep the C placed,, i'm able to play your Over the Rainbow version much more smoother ,, practice practice,, nowww I understand why you place chords the way you do at times,, easier transition.. awesome !!

Christopher, Thank you so much for the way you explained things. I also appreciate that you play a small ukulele without a strap. I just added a thinline soprano and am trying to avoid using a strap. Mimicking your positioning I can actually play it without the uke sliding away.

This is brilliant. I have considered teaching the Am and F with the higher C to my beginner students need school. Sometimes it see my 6 year olds playing an F with the high C as they forget to remove their ring finger when changing chords, It pains me to correct them!

Christopher, the title really made me giggle... 😅 like, as if chords per se are just horrible sounding... a general principle so to speak...

Great! I have some work ahead but it is the best way i learn. Can you identify the source of the chord chart? I found 2 versions that are different.
When I saw your basement wall it reminded me of the basements we had in South Philly. Even had a coal bin.

These are more or less the changes from the original sheet music transposed from G to C which is where I usually sing it. There are a lot of common chord subs people use on this tune so both charts you have could be varying degrees of right. Here’s a version in C

Christopher, this is really helpful, and much appreciated. Do you have a link to a chord chart of alternate chord fingerings that we can use?
