I was reading that in The Netherlands, the national team is not well supported by fans of Ajax, Feyenoord, PSV. It didn't really state why just that fans of the national side are not 'proper fans'. How much of this is true?
+Scott Ferguson well there is a different atmosphere when the national team plays and it attracts different kind of people. not the fan groups that go week in week out to the stadium supporting there team but more casual crowd where lots of people dont really care about football but just go for the beer and the party
not a a fan culture i recognise. "fan football culture" in Uk and Northern Europe seems very different from the people who turn up at International tournaments! Some fixtures are still dangerous events to go to as far as Ive experienced. if im being honest I can relate to that than I do to this. As a Scotsman I watch the ,so called tartan army' with embarrassment. Painted faces/kilts and pissing in fountains isnt y odea of fun and definatley snt british football fan culture! Many football lads do fell the same! id imagine its the same for the guys who turn up to watch Dutch league fixtures agree

Idk where you read this and I also don't know what you mean by proper fans but I'd have to disagree
Neither do I: I read it on an article I found on Twitter. You get some fans in Scotland who do not really care for the national side, either.
