Dave sure mastered his banjo playing style to a sound unique to him. I do understand this was some what of a necessity especially after his life threating sickness he first contracted in 2009 that ended up causing issues with his right hand and index finger? My family and I love this video especially because of his daughter's interaction with him when he finishes the song. She is so proud of her daddy. So sad he passed on way too young. Really enjoy his banjo playing and so nice of him and his family to post these. Thank you Hum family.
I cannot think of better "trike ridin'" music than yours;-) I think you had crazy weather there too....warm and cold, flipflops, and extremes! Cheers, Dave,...it is always such a treat.
Great version of this classic. Please have a listen to the version we recorded on a wee tape recorder about 30 odd years ago. Just look up my name to find it. Cheers.

It is nice that you left these videos of your playing behind Dave. R.I.P.

Is this the tune where the late Earl scruggs discovered he could use his thumb creating the Scruggs style of Picking
if I didn't fear it would be blasphemous, I'd say this is better than Earl...
This guy is an extraordinary musician. First time I ever heard him, but ...incredible.
