Merry Christmas Kalvin! Man crazy how much progress you've done. You motivate a lot with my goals! Can't wait for the finish product. Btw been watching your vids since the car got imported 😢
I've been watching for what feels like forever and dude I'm so proud of you as a fan brother! You're looking healthier mentally and physically every upload and it's great to see the progress within the creator and their art, your Skyline transformation is insane!
GDR Mate! Lol By far my favorite automotive TH-camr. Great freaking work man, i can’t believe how well everything is turning out. Have a Merry Christmas!
Videos have always been inspiring, all the way dating back to when you first unloaded the Z. The drive and push is incredible! Don't stop, Never stop, just keep going! P.S. i need to make a trip and give you the VP Racing care package.
I would paint it with pearl white, meaning it looks flat like what you applied but under any direct light source, you will see that there's something more to the paint. Just a very subtle sparkle under direct lighting, you know. What you applied is fine as well. It is up to a personal preference at the end of the day. Also what I would do is throw some accent color in there like bright green-yellow or bright orange on things like the callipers. Maybe also a pinstripe that follows the very characteristic curve that starts around the rear fender goes through the whole side and wraps around the front wheel arch.
Good job choosing Axalta Metallux for your basecoat. It's originally a more cost affordable polyestor basecoat to the European brand paints. If I can make a suggestion, I don't know what clear you used in the interior, but I know you used some lower tier Urethane primer. Lower grade primers have less solids and are prone to more shrinkage. Though most of your panels are new such as the quarters, rockers and stuff, in future restorations, use a Epoxy high build. PPG makes one called VP2050 which is excellent and little shrinkage. It was created originally for industrial and moved to their restoration/custom car line. There's no true DTM for a Urethane. When I spoke to a chemist for BASF, he told me DTM are only made for collision where a little bare metal is exposed, not to prime a whole car without an Epoxy first. Another great product is Evercoat Superbuild. PPG VP2050 is a hybrid Epoxy high build and Evercoat SuperBuild is a hybrid Polyestor filler. For a clear, since you already have the metallux base, look into PPG 2021 clear. Do not buy it at a jobber. They will charge you $900+. You can source it from a vendor on E-B-A-Y for a quarter of that. For sound deadener, I would see if you can get all your materials from Carbuilders out of Australia. If I had to choose a color for an R32 GTR it is definitely (AH3) Red Pearl Metallic. Keep up the great work
I'd say for under the hood the Design Engineering 010393 Reflect-A-Gold High-Temperature Heat Reflective Adhesive Backed Sheets would be the best for around the firewall and other heat sensitive areas...Then on the other side of the firewall I'd probably go with Siless Liner 157 (4 mm) mil 36 sqft Car Sound Deadening Closed Cell Foam & Heat Insulation mat - PE Foam Sound Deadener Material & Heat Barrier...or something like that with as good or better reviews... With any stick on product always triple check that the surface is free of dirt or dust or oils...I'd assume since your body work and paint is new its just shop dust you'd have to worry about... Your paint looks beautiful btw...I'd consider the clear coat extra protection against rust ;)
Kalvin, You did an amazing job man! Looks dope! When you’re done painting the complete car you should really put Reflex Pro II coating on the paint to keep that freshly painted shine. There is a guy in your area, Maybe you have heard of him. Ammo Nyc. The best when it comes to detailing. Check out some of his vids and products and you know what i am talking about. This beauty of a car is definitely worth that treatment especially after all the work and love you put in to it! Let me know what you are going to do. For the mean time. Keep up the amazing stuff brother. Aint nobody got that attention to detail and ability to go the extra mile like you do anymore.
Kalvin, don’t stress yourself out too much man every car guys goes through these things where it sets us back a step 😂 love hate relationship this car thing man, finished product looks amazing!
Midnight never came on r32s, would cost a small fortune, is extremely difficult to lay down and repair if damaged. Original white is the only way to go. Never change the colour of a car.
When I saw you mixing your epoxy I mistook it for basecoat and thought YES hes painting it EY0. I have an r33 shell in my shed about to be painted in it. Cant go wrong with the OEM white though.
I forgot to suggest the painted floors, the hard finish is like a single piece and rather permanent. As often as you change your mind and if you haven't designed any rollover bars already, then you'll appreciate the ease of working with the painted metal. Besides, DIY FTW ❤
Hope you guys have a great Christmas!
Really pumped to see some paint on this car, home stretch!
Don't forget to "Join" the channel memebers!😎
Congrats man! Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas Kalvin! Man crazy how much progress you've done. You motivate a lot with my goals! Can't wait for the finish product. Btw been watching your vids since the car got imported 😢

I’m glad you kept the factory color bro! 100% authentic!
You made the right choice staying with the factory color.
Sticking with the OEM white was 100% the right move. I would've done the same. I love it. Well done Kalvin!
Congratulations with the progress. It looks amazing. Cant wait to see the rest of the car coming together. Your works is really one of a kind.
Merry Christmas 🎄 get some rest 🤣
Easily my favourite build on YT, I'll be watching it all over again once I start my Silvia next year. The white was the only choice.
Kalvin glad you kept the OEM color 👍🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹
Minimal rust no more. Now, it’s maximum mint. Beautiful work.
Only thing from here is up. The fun stuff begins, can’t wait to see the rest of the steps, and it’s been a journey from the beginning to the end.
Glad to see more consistency on the channel!

Keep going kalvin good job , numbers.
I still think you should do Calsonic blue! It's such a gorgeous color! Either way tho, it's gonna be the best restored R32 Skyline out there!!!
OEM color is the right choice man
Kalvin, don’t stress yourself out too much man every car guys goes through these things where it sets us back a step 😂 love hate relationship this car thing man, finished product looks amazing!
Merry Xmas dude🎉.
if you are going to OEM color it can you do midnight purple? kinda a shame to paint it just white.
Midnight never came on r32s, would cost a small fortune, is extremely difficult to lay down and repair if damaged. Original white is the only way to go. Never change the colour of a car.
Nothing wrong with white 👍🏼
Imo midnight purple looks wack and overhyped tbh
@zami705 White S14 Zenki owner here.. I couldn't agree more
Midnight purple is kinda overdone at this point id go for 732 - Black Pearl Metallic or Bayside Blue
I remember when you picked it up. Bet that first drive is gonna hit different this time.
Nice work brother from new Zealand
Good Job Kalvin 🍊🍊
To you its nothing but man you got talent buds
great job bro!
Merry Christmas Malli fam!
OEM color was the way to go
Woooo so clean
Looks good bro
Looks so good
When I saw you mixing your epoxy I mistook it for basecoat and thought YES hes painting it EY0. I have an r33 shell in my shed about to be painted in it. Cant go wrong with the OEM white though.
Merry Xmas everyone. We all get GTR...videos from Santa 🎅
Looking at this makes me want to attempt it one day. After seeing it, I can’t unsee it ugh 😅
Are you going to reassemble the interior before painting the outside or wait till everything is painted?
Brother so far you have done such a great job.😂
Following from the beginning
So clean
Long journey but that looks so good
I’ve heard good things about hush mat may be something to look into
Looks amazing
This car is going to be MINT !!
Hyped for the paint process tha king of paint from SEMA days “we are not worthy” 😂
Nothing beats a white R32 🥵
Lets go!!
Were you able buy new rocker/sill panels? If so, from where? I'm restoring one as well.
cant wait til shes a roller.
Amazing!
THIS GTR WILL BE MEUSEUM-SPEC!!
I forgot to suggest the painted floors, the hard finish is like a single piece and rather permanent. As often as you change your mind and if you haven't designed any rollover bars already, then you'll appreciate the ease of working with the painted metal. Besides, DIY FTW ❤
