A number 10 beading needle works great on fine counts and would probably work great for your 1 x 1 . Your Chatelaine is just stunning. You have accomplished so much on it. I look forward to more of your stitching. It is inspiring.

I have the same delimma with the Isobell sampler (her sister has too many words for me!!!) I have pulled the DMC and am waiting on the fabric so I am still waffling and glad to hear your experience with the silks. I know exactly what you are talking about....this will be a special project for me, too and it is HUGE. I adore Chatelaines and have a couple going....you inspired me to kit Frosty Knot Garden....so now I am looking at poison garden...but I have SO many Chatelaines kitted and I can tell you the 28 count "boring " fabric is the only way to go. Yours is beautiful; your stitching is exquisite. Great video.

Throne of Glass series gets soooo much better. I would also agree though that Celaena is super inconsistent in the first book. I have read all the books so far except the last, which has been sitting on my nightstand since it came out. I feel like I can't remember what happened and may have to go back and reread the series. I may totally copy you and make it my goal to read them all this year as well. Loved seeing all your projects! Can't wait to see In This Moment come alive this year!

I am SO happy you and CozyEgg are having a sampler themed year. I really have no desire to stitch any but I LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing y’all working on yours! Ann Uffendell is one of the few Ive been tempted to buy but now I can just watch yours. Amazing progress on In This Moment! Cheering you on for the 100K. I know you can get it done. 💪 I loved having all the challenges from magical stitches but yeah....Im a little adrift this year without all that weekly homework too. Loved seeing your Chatelaine out for a bit and super stoked for Anniversaries to happen shortly! Thanks as always for the book reviews. Im off to look for An American Marriage - it sounds excellent. ❤️

    Hi Jessie Marie,
I have worked 1 over 1 on 40ct and just used my regular Bohin 28 needle. Bohins slide through very well. One trick is to do the long arm method where possible and the stitches come out nice and neat. It also gives a better base on the back to run the thread under at the end.
What I mean is do all the /// first, but go backwards so the thread travels further between holes on the backside. The come back doing all the \\\. The thread won’t slip under the linen and it’s easier to finish off. Hope this helps!

Deborah Needlesmith What you’re describing is a continental stitch, used a lot in needlepoint, but not so much known to cross stitchers. I totally agree that on one over one on high-count fabrics, it is the best way to go.

Hi Jessie!! The deep, royal blue scarf or cowl that you are wearing looks fantastic on you!! I was about to check out An American Marriage from my online library but decided against it because I was certain it would make me angry, and I wasn't in the mood to be angry. However, hearing you talk about it makes me want to read it anyway because it deserves to be read, and being angry at the injustice system is a good thing. 💙💜😘

I love all of your WIPS especially Moment In Time - I just love this one. You are making a beautiful progress.
Your Chatelaine is just beautiful - wow. I have a Chatelaine Patten but I have not started it yet. I am hoping I can start it sometime this summer.
I have read Throne Of Glass - I have not read the rest of the Books in the series yet. I want to.
Right now I am reading Anne Of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery. This is Book #1 in the Anne Of Green Gables Series. I have all of the Books in this Series.
Cannot wait til I see your next Floss Tube Video

If you want more blue in the capital letters and you’s using two threads, blend them. Use one strand of the called for and one of a DMC blue. Might give you the effect you want.

You are in for a wild ass ride with the Throne of Glass series! It really does get stronger - the series really took off for me around book three. Also, I didn’t read the 5 Assasin novellas until AFTER i finished the series. I really missed nothing 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ if I had my druthers, I might have read it before the last book (Kingdom of Ash) just because a few characters have cameos. I was still able to follow and enjoy Kingdom of Ash no problem. I can’t wait to see your thoughts through the year as you read this series!!! Some serious crazy twists and turns are yet to come 😱😱😱

Enjoyed your planner walk through. Bought a Happy Planner for this year but didn’t really like the page breakdown. I see how you relabeled some of their headings. Ended up buying a different planner at Barnes & Noble and absolutely love it and decorate with stickers as I complete items. Stealing your idea to use alphabet stickers for the Alphabet Soup, that’s genius! I’m in Boardwalk Resort 😊

I've reread some books this yr too where it's been a few yrs since I first read them....while I love the storyline, the author's idiosyncrasies and writing style are driving me nuts this time. I won't be able to reread the whole series, better ways to spend my time! ITM looks so good!! I feel like my videos are going to be so boring this yr without the Mag Sts homework. I didn't think I'd get involved in the hw this yr but as you know, plans and rotations are always evolving!

She has some great wips, too, check out her Gecko Rouge bee project! Loved seeing you again, I had been watching for a video. I have 3 Chatelaines kitted up but might have to get poison garden ready.

Hi Jessie, I may be really late to the party but re needles for 1over1 - have you considered ball point beading needles? Can't say I've ever tried it but it might be a good compromise between a thin needle but not accidentally piercing fabric threads as with a sharp

The Hope sampler is beautiful, but I'm confused. Is it supposed to be a modern sampler in the look of an old one? Or is it a reproduction of a specific piece? The date isn't right since "Hope is the Thing with Feathers" is estimated to have been written in 1861 and was published in 1891 after Dickinson's death (I did a paper on it in school), so 1843 is a bit early for someone to have read it and put it in their sampler (Emily Dickinson would have been 13. so if she was writing poetry, it was probably goopy melodrama like all teenage girls seem to write). Just wondering if it explains this in the chart? Maybe Ms. Blackburn made it all up, which is totally ok, but like I said, I was a little confused and thought maybe the designer wrote why she has 1843 in the chart. Hope this doesn't come across as me being a snooty know-it-all, I don't mean it that way. Thanks!

    • @JessieMarieDoesStuff
      @JessieMarieDoesStuff  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

elizabeth jehnzen -the madness at bay First, you definitely don’t come off as a snooty know it all. Flex your knowledge, friend! Second off, you’re absolutely correct. This is a faux reproduction sampler. She doesn’t state it explicitly anywhere in the pattern but the cover says something to the effect of “Reproduction and other samplers inspired by those seen in museums.” So, in essence, she made this one all up. Probably liked the verse from the Hope poem and was inspired to create a sampler of sorts. The model shows the name Jane which seems to have no relation either.
Gosh what I would give to see what Emily Dickinson wrote during those formative years. The snark, but so eloquently described! 😂
