百分之百的福建人！在美国中餐饭馆基本都是福州人开的，甚至日本餐以及亚洲餐，基本都是福州人开的。

不仅漂洋过海的中餐到了美国会改良，国内南北的美食换个地方做也会改变口味为了适合当地人的饮食习惯，感谢分享~
即使在国内 口味都不一样 何况美国呢
中式的外賣或自助餐廳他們不管炒那一種菜，所用的調料大多數都是相同的，而且是批發進來預先就調好的醬汁，所以才能那麼快出菜，並且吃起來都很類似的原因。
I'm a Chinese from Malaysia and was in the States for 5 years in Kansas. That was 20odd years ago. I remmebered that these kind of 'localized' chinese buffet. I love their Crab Rangoon, the beef and broccoli, the hot and sour soup, sweet n sour pork. Though it's different from the authentic chinese food, but there is some sort of attraction to it thst cannot be resisted.

Wow, being in the middle of nowhere Kansas and not having access to authentic Chinese or even Malaysian food must've been rough? Lol

Buffet type restaurants cannot represent Chinese American food. If you are in or near Chinatowns in CA, I am sure you will find the Chinese foods very different to the buffet restaurants. Especially the good restaurants are comparable to those of Malaysia or Hong Kong. If you are coming to the US again, stop by CA and try the Chinese restaurants in the SF Bay Area or somewhere near the city of Los Angeles. Even the city of Las Vegas has very good Chinese restaurants.

Ari is so correct about Chinese food in the US. They are different but they are good. Similar to the Chinese language, Chinese food evolves differently in various parts of China.
Loving the mixed style buffet in America, as the Chinese cuisines are also fabulous.

One interesting side story of Americanized Chinese food is: there are two expats in Shanghai started a new restaurant in Shanghai that serves those Chinese food you only find in US and it was a huge succes. Many Aermicans living/working in Shanghai actually missed the "Chinese food" they are used to in the States and unfortunately those foods do not exist in China.

Wow, this is interesting, the variant chinese food or hybrid Chinese food could influence the young Chinese generation so that a new test food gonna be generated.

They do but not exactly. If you go to Canton or Hong Kong, their cuisines or street foods are similar to Chinese American foods. Especially if you are in or near Chinatowns. American Chinese food mainly evolves from Cantonese food. It is a bit different from mainstream Cantonese food from Canton or Hong Kong but the taste is similar. Not until the last 50 years, Chinese foods from other parts of China were introduced into Chinese American food culture. It first came from Taiwan and then mainland China. Even the foods Jay and Ari made are somewhat different to Cantonese foods. I don't think Jay is Cantonese.

因为海外中餐馆除了中餐外，还有很多日料或者韩餐或者泰餐混在里面，所以导致很多外国人分不清一些亚洲料理都是什么国家的XD

I rarely go for Chinese buffet but when I do, it is just a change from the authentic Chinese food we normally order.

其實很多外國近年都有這種餐廳，如果甜品都能買一些中式的就更好了
這家相信不是廣東人開的Buffet restaurant，我在北美去過的不少是粵式自助餐，一般西人非常接受粵菜，所以會吃到非常正宗的粵式自助餐如點心、燒味、炒飯粉麵等等。
加拿大的吧？只有加拿大的才说北美，西人。美国的都说美国，老美。

@@junliliu4997 我就是在美加都住過，現正住在北美三十多年，你的邏輯思維是部分眼光短小的大陸人思維。在北美的人說到北美的都知是指美加，墨西哥是指拉丁美洲的一國。像你來自大陸的都是近三十年才移居來北美的，自然無法與一百多年前來北美的華人（主要來自廣東台山）相比，廣東人早已根在此札根百載。還有北美華文媒體都用西人，老美、老外是你們在國內的用語，在以廣東人為主流的唐人街，甚至華媒都不會用的，只是大陸背景的人和媒體才會用的。

很一般，分别最大是海鲜多否，這應是週1-5的中午攴平些，在休士頓現约$12元如晚上及六，日假期全天约$16元，加税小費。東西貴現海鲜小了。

Honest speaking, Chinese buffet is not typical or authentic Chinese food. However, it’s best way to attach Americans to tryout.
海鲜类的丸子,试试看炸过吃,配上椒盐或是番茄酱或辣酱,Ari应该就敢尝试了,不这么腥.
那个是福州鱼丸，有肉馅的。很特殊的。
我到美國或者加拿大旅行都一定會幫襯中式自助餐👍😋

我老家河北有驴肉火烧，我比较喜欢早餐：炸油条、馄饨、豆腐脑，我还非常喜欢吃羊肠汤，在沧州青县出差经常吃。北京的卤煮火烧我也喜欢，我比较重口味。这些内脏类的可能很多美国人接受不了。

应该说，有了中餐馆他们有了不一样的选择，而且我们中餐也是顺着美国人的口味，大部分美国人也慢慢的习惯了，就是因为他们喜欢中餐食物，所以中餐馆才会在美国如此普遍。

Most Chinese buffets are very heavy on fried and oily foods so not the healthiest, but I can understand why they need to tweak it that way because they need to cater more to the western palate. I am surprised Ari doesn't like fishballs, they're actually quite mild unless you're the sort of person that doesn't like fish.
From my experience Americans raised on meats and potatoes from the Mid-Atlantic and Midwestern states don't like fishy foods. You gotta go West or Northeast.
