Thanks for this! I live about 60 miles south of this shop and never heard of it. This is the kind of shop lacking in my city and I've been looking for and.
Wow. I went there about 15 years ago when my sister lived in the Denver area. I had always seen their ad in FSM and had to go. Talk about styrene overload. More than an IPMS national convention. I didn’t know what to buy. I ended up with some tools and accessories I still use today. I would love to go back again. Please show us what you bought.
Caboose Hobbies in Lakewood, Colorado finally closed down. They opened up in 1938, and at one time they had over 22,000 square feet of retail floor space & model railroad display space. The Denver metro area has some marvelous hobby shops, and music stores.
What a beautiful store! I looked online to see what we have left here in Northwest Georgia and they were all gone, nothing but Hobby Lobby remains anywhere close, very sad.
Looks like a fantastic hobby shop. Wish there were more like this and Hurricane Hobbies. Glad to see you doing well Max. Happy Landings always. God bless you and yours. Thanks again for everything you do! Model On Sir!
Wow! I haven't seen a hobby shop like that since 1999 when I visited the now-defunct Udisco in Montreal. Drool-city. They have almost as many kits as I have! ;-)
What asuperb hobby shop. It's clear it's run by enthusiastic staff. I'd spend a fortune in there. Thanks for the video, Max. Take care and see you back at base.
OMG, NOW THAT'S A HOBBY SHOP !!!!. Probably have every kit on my wish list. And yes I think you're right I built that Snark in my previous life and it was Lindbergh. Its great they display kits, get to see how folks build out and pick up ideas. How in the world did you have energy to leave? I'm going around the house and checking the car for lose change as we speak THANKS four the tour, Blue Skies
Outstanding hobby shop. Shops like this are a great American institution and need to be supported. I've never seen such a vast selection of paints. Thanks for the vicarious tour.
Thanks Max for the effort of going there. Listening to fellow modelers bemoaning the fate of so many "Lost" Palaces of Plastic. If you ever let to Southern California you might go Brookhurst Hobbies in Garden Grove or Burbank House of Hobbies not quite as large as Colpar but both with enthusiastic staffs. I wish I could tell you about the GREAT stores that SoCal used to have but that's crying over spilt milk. Though going into these two does bring back that exciting feeling of yesteryear.
There is this recurring dream I have: I've discovered this huge model store (a brand new one or I only discovered it existed), I'm all excited and I go inside. They have everything - except these two or three model kits I've wanted for years...
I got to stop there in the early '90's, when they were in a different location, and picked up the Testors AC-130A kit (the big one). Glad to see they're still as impressive as they were back then.
I'd like to walk into a Fifties neighborhood hobby shop where the Mongram Speedee-Bilt B-25 and B Invader kits are still $3.50. Cue _Twilight Zone_ theme.
Not shown in the video is the store’s basement level with a slot car track, D&D gaming tables and scenery, and a track and obstacle course for radio controlled cars. This is a fabulous hobby shop!
Max: took the bus to Caboose Hobbies (original store) years ago. took about 45 min. Be careful extiting bus at night. I missed the curb and sufferred bsd sprain. I lite to take public transportation when I am in other cities so that I get a feel for the terrain. As long as I have time. Yes, the hunt is worth the trip! Take care.

I go there ever chance I can. Best hobby store that I’ve been too.
Danngit, another entry onto my Bucket List! This is what Heaven looks like to a model kit builder! 👍
I don't remember Estes having a Skylab version of the Saturn V. Nice to see one there.
When I lived in Aurora that was my second favorite place, just barely behind my work table.

Very cool Max! Model on! 😎🇨🇦

Aw, Max, I missed ya! I was there from 3-330. And yes, Colpar rocks!
I left the hotel about 3:20 and it took 90 minutes between the two busses. Oh well.
Next time I’ll just have you get me at the hotel and buy you an In-and-Out burger for payment 😂😀
Very impressive, and very packed with kits I really, really want.

I miss the old colpars it had a literal ton of resin ships and aftermarket for armor.
Yup, it is styrene Mecca. The store in Lakewood ain't bad either.

I usually put videos from my subscription channels into “watch later”, but I almost always watch a Max video right away.
Thanks
@@maxsmodels the only videos I watch even faster are Cables Creations, but that’s more like quality control.
Reminds me of “The Blues Brothers” mall scene except R&R “baby clothes” with “Colpar Hobbies”: “this place has got everything”
If and whenever you get to Toronto and environs, we a number of great stores for you to see!
I'd love to
Having spent 20 years in the Denver area I always enjoyed going to Colpar Hobbies West and Colpar Hobbies East. These places are still going strong.
Looks like a modelers idea of Nirvana!
Modellers Nirvana, thanks for sharing Max 🙏
All I can say is WOW
Man, do I miss places like this. I may have to look into opening a model shop when I retire.
I'd love to have a hobby shop half this size.
I just got up from having fainted from the video of the store...WOW...FANTASTIC...OH MY...ETC. Maybe it is time to relocate???
Colpars has been a modelers haven for decades!
Since 1969
Thank you for the tour. That would be worth the trip, for sure.
I haven't seen a hobby store like that since the 80s.
Oh yeah, I remember... Really enjoyed seeing that and quite surprised, huh
Thank you.

The Snark is indeed a Lindberg repop. It JUST came out.
Thanks
I wonder if the have an online store, and if the ship to canada?
Awesome store. Did they have many Sci-fi kits?
Give me more money. I'd go crazy in that place !!!

Maybe next time
👍👍
A TARDIS in itself. Small store front that's way bigger inside. Did you leave with a kit?
Not this time
The successor to The Squadron Shop?
My cousin lives in Aurora. Hmm.
I thought the original Snark kit was by Monogram?
Very impressive shop. I try and visit as many as I can. By the way, what editing software do you use for your videos?
I live about an hour North From there but I drive there specifically to buy models
Oh yes, I could spend an hour or two and a months pension in there
