The ending with Tobi just feels like the pure essence of Lance. Sticking to the monster like glue and giving no fucks about anything thrown your way, whether it be your target, invader or even teammate. Also I love the use of Skyward Thrust. Those dunks were so satisfying to watch.
From an avid parry lancer if you delay the cross counter on the tail flip by a half second or so you can get both hits on the tail and still have time for another.
people really underestimate leaping thrust now, with elememtal builds, aside speedrunning, you can just advance back leap thrust forward spam and output crazy damage , 1 sharpness point per leap cause game counts it as 1 attack as well! worst case scenario its still around 300dmg per spammable leap
Im trying to learn Lance. Someone kindly explain how come the instablock to leaping thrust doesnt have the instablock animation? At 0:44 to 0:49, he instablock, cross sweep, then he transitioned to leaping thrust right away? What move am I missing here? Diff dedicated button? Cause i cannot transition to the spam leaping thrust without combining the 3 buttons first(those 3 buttons includes the instablock button as the first key to press to start the combo, so, every time im gonna do the leaping thrust spam from neutral, the instablock 'wiggle' animation is always there before i can spam leaping thurst). I play on pc if th that matters. Thx
500 lance usage in rise, never thought to use skyward thrust and spiral thrust. I guess i got too comfortable with anchor rage Nice run btw, didn't think 5 min afflicted would be possible. I should try it out
if you are good at timing spiral thrust block, you dont need anchor rage. its good to say we all got a little too comfortable with anchor rage originally when many things were bad, but now that many things have been buffed insta parry style lance is better. anchor rage while is comfy is not needed.
@@devxved anchor rage is a good safety net when i whiffed my timing, especially for monster that does multiple attacks in succession Also the damage boost is better too
I used lance quite a bit in 3U but couldn't get into it in rise still one of my favorite weapons to watch though when someone plays it perfectly it is like art and i don't feel like that applies to most weapons.

monster not moving = charged swipe monster might move, or you need to move to safe distance while guarding = multi hit. charged swipe does almost double damage

Sort of a weird question but what layered armor are you using for gloves? I wanted to use the Sailor outfit Body + Waist + Legs as well but I couldn't find a good pair of gloves that didn't either have some sort of bracer covering the forearms or long sleeves that look awkward with the Sailor body and I see your simple/sleek bog standard gloves and fell in love.
I see you land a poke after lunging thrust before Slap. Is it worth ? It seems to increase your uptime btw ! Btw i saw some maths around our combos and i saw Lunging thrust + slap is better than Slap / poke / Slap Didnt try a lot but it is worth considering it !

I don't know about not having bloated attack stats since afflicted arzuros hits like a truck and they also have insane tracking too. like you have to be out of the way even before the monster animation starts and then roll or just having a point in evade extender helps a lot or your weapon has a counter
While monsters are in the delirious state thats the state with the qurios bubbles monsters are in fact alot faster than normal and they do deal a shit load of damage as well
@@frescopino7866 it's not mandatory to blow every red part in order to pacificate them, you just need to fill a dmg check, red explosions only help with that dmg
I like Afflicted more than Tempered (which is just boring stat increases), and I really hate Frenzy's randomized targeting. Hyper monsters, though, I enjoy the most because of the changed AI that make them sometimes play very differently than regular state.
Is charge master a skill worth using for this kind of play style? It buffs elemental damage on charge attacks and was wondering if it's something I should go out of my way for
The Shagaru head gives Coalescence but also Bloodlust, which grants Frenzy virus. You gain increased damage while Frenzy is active, and when you overcome the virus by attacking, you get an affinity bonus. Overcoming the virus also activates Coalescence (and heals all of your red health), so it's self-sufficient without relying on the monster inflicting blights.
@@wallacesousuke1433 i believe that skill gives you permanent attack bonus, which its effect increase after a certain period of time. You’ll lose HP over time tho. You’ll regain your HP back if you use skill swap, but the buffs reset to the lowest number. There’s additional effect depending on what scrolls(red or blue) you’re using, iirc.
Amazing run! Its sad to see that Lance looks like it lost it’s rhythm in Rise. The two lances are my favorite weapons but I haven’t used regular Lance yet and was about to start, but I like the old triple poke rhythm more than whatever this slap stuff is.
I haven't played Lance in Rise/Sunbreak yet. What's the difference in inputs between regular blocking and the blocking that does the parry sound? Is it a switch skill or the equivalent to power guarding in World?
It’s a switch skill for the normal guard. If you time it right, you’ll guard pretty much everything and can follow it with a strong counter. If you miss the timing, you can still guard the attack, but the the guard strenght is lower than the normal guard.
It is definitely a legal charm. Attack boost 3 is possible to get on a talisman, I have one myself on switch that I’ve been using since I noticed I had it, no 3 slot on mine though just the 2 1 slots.
They have these red spots when enraged and basically will permanently enraged if you don't attack those spots. They are much tankier and faster (but attack value stays the same i believe?). You basically need to pop the red spots to do massive damage to them and kick them out of enrage state, if you don't they will do aoe explosion after a certain time and potentially oneshots you.
Makes it look easy, then people go oh I can do that. I have years of lance, its my main and no you cannot do that effectively every time unless you are as good as these players just be aware of that. but hopefully you'll convert and be mediocre like the rest of us. Anyways good run, i learn from your timings and it actually helps a lot. I just wish I could do this in multiplayer but monsters go brrr in multiplayer and diversion doesn't work taking aggro from bowgun users
it has good motion value (70) but if you use instablock is hard to pull it off on the fly and beside that the cross sweep of a successful instablock does 50+80 motion values and the last hit have 1,5 element multiplayer

pretty sure most people who play lance know how good it is now, all 15 of them, the downside is having to give up shield tackle which is also amazing

Lance is more like SNS type of weapon, u need to always hitting monster and understand to manage ur sharpness
despite it's gigantic shield lance is an offensive weapon, it just so happens to revolve around when the monsters are up and not when they are downed
@@bowserfriend technically, every weapon is a offensive weapon, this isn't a MMORPG, going defensive is worse overall compared to just going offensive
If you miss your pokes or not being aggresive enough/blocking too much you will run out of time

holding back while equipping guard dash allows you to hop back and forth with the stabs

I changed my character appearance so that those gloves would be a part of the unarmored look, and then hid the arm display.

Only problem I've found so far is with monsters like Khezu, who have shit hitboxes that you NEED to hit if you don't want to explode.

Insta-block? It's a parry move that negates all damage and knockback if you succeed, and also the follow up have a massive MV

May I know why does he not riding the rathian at 3.34? I thought that the indicator is still up after he has finished sharpening the lance?
Speed? Rathian head is very weak to normal weapons and the wallslam probably is a dps loss and time wasting
