I think ham will be a breakout from Nerdcore. He’s got a different style but he reminds me of dizzy and cypher gang. There’s something special about him. I gotta recommend all mine and trust the process man, keep ham in the rotation because he will be a star mark my words.

I kinda get what you're saying about the whole thing with character raps, but I would honestly just recommend one song to start out: "New phone, who dis?" by Ham and Haztik. He's obviously talking about some shit that Chainsaw Man can only kinda relate to, and it's for sure more than you're giving it credit for. There's plenty of "nerdcore" shit out there where they use these characters to tell their own story, their own struggles, through the lens of someone from a world like anime that people know all about, instead of a world like ours that people don't listen to the issues and instead focus on their own selfish lives. It's powerful, it's real, and I hope you give it a shot. Peace.
Scru, youre definitely overestimating the amount of people who TRULY LOVE music that listen to like, themed rap i guess, not just nerdcore necessarily. Youre a musician. Music is your art and passion, and its why you get bored with the usual nerdcore cause it isnt personal. For a lot of nerdcore fans, the music is ancillary to THEIR chosen passion; its a way of celebrating that, and not as much an artistic pursuit in and of itself. Its a flawed perspective because it ignores the artistry of the rapper, but its also just a natural effect of the way their passion and interest has landed; its just not the same weight. Not to say theres no overlap. Big ham fan who loved anatomy II right here, but thats an exception to the rule for me, made because I found a real affinity for the artist (same with Rustage's personal album).
I love ham, one of my all time favorite rappers. Honestly though the more I watch Scru's reactions the more I dislike him as a person. It seems less like he cares about rappers/songs & more cares about how they decide to create them. His hate of anime & AMV's seems ignorant & makes no sense to me. Not that I think AMVs are the best thing ever but I don't see the problem. They give many people a livelihood, convey the meaning of lyrics/mood of the song, & yet Scru hates them just because they have created a different culture from the regular hip hop scene. I fell in love with his channel because of his passionate admiration for hip hop & willingness to expose those new to it. Now it just seems like he pushes an agenda & rules lawyers whilst pushing out a video or 2 a day. It's sad to say Scru but you should've taken your own advice "Don't become the emperor on a hill"
