I mean 45 putts isn't HORRIBLE considering if you're playing par and hitting GIR you have 2 putts per hole which is already 36 putts. Add an extra putt on half the holes and you got 45 putts. Because he is working hard to improve his game and part of improving is building confidence. What should lurch have said, "Well Trent sucks but he's likable?" I've watched almost all their scrambles and while Trent is a 25-30HCP he still contributes in their matches.
Barstool's whole appeal is relatable to the everyman. That was Portnoy's vision when he started it and has stayed true to it. Their golf division isn't a bunch of 3HCPers. They have some decent parts of their game but each one has major weaknesses too. And that is totally relatable. So it works and makes for good content. Plus they bring in A level talent like Kis to show the audience what really good golf looks like.
The meet up with Brian Baumgartner was one of the better parts of the video. Trent is a disaster on the greens, especially the closer he gets to the hole. By the way, Brian and whoever he picks would crush you guys.

While the greens might have been quick, they won't be at US Open speed until a week or two before the event (and even then they'll probably be a bit slower, its hard to keep greens that fast for long without killing them).. and the rough wasn't anywhere close to US Open length (this was mentioned at the beginning of the video).
they're playing tough courses but yeah at this point if you've never broken 100 you're closer to a 35 than 20. I do think Trent would benefit from an approach he took a little today. Instead of playing the hole as it is on the card play it to his handicap so add 1 shot to the par on some holes and on the tougher holes add 2 shots to the par. If you're playing a 530 yard par 5 there's nothing stopping you playing it as a 210 yard shot then a 170 yard shot then a 150 yard shot. Trying to hit 3 woods into these holes is just going to put him in so much trouble.

You realize that course probably was a 80 rating at least right? So a scratch golfer would shoot 80. You also realize he only has to shoot a 9 over and 2 10 overs in 20 rounds to have that handicap.

Not too bad for a 9 but the problem is he never shoots the lower rounds you would expect from a true 9. And I'm not sure you understand how the handicap system works. It takes the lowest 10 differentials of your last 20 rounds, averages them and multiplies that average by .96. So no, shooting one round that's 9 over the rating and two rounds that are 10 over the rating in 20 rounds would NOT make you a 9 handicap.
45:00 the thing is that there's just a modest amount of blood on the course...the problem is that you just can't worry 100% about every shot, it adds up and just kills ya, you start to sweat 2 footers and when you're sweating 2 footers there are going to be the 2 footers that you miss, which is just brutal but they are actually not play bad. A lot of short approaches, very spongy greens that suck up a lot of chips because they should be pitches not chips, focusing too much on the pin and leaving the approaches short...gotta learn to play front pins long and long pins short, not the other way around. But basically not bad. Handling the rough decently. Just not handling the *course*. Except for Riggs. Who is standing there quietly every hole thinking about what Maserati he's going to buy with his winnings this week. Someone is seriously not worried about this course, more about product placement for the ad buys, and it's showing in his game. They all say that. It's what you say about every bad golfer because a bad putt doesn't look as bad hitting an iron fat or shanking an iron but it's just as bad. He misses putts 10 feet wide of the whole at times

hey frankie new to your channel and noticed you have the same troubles with your chips as me...one trick i did.. i use less loft and do more bumps and rolls then "flop shots"... have been doing it for the past year or so and thats how i broke 90,and recently just broke 80 with a 78...i just stopped trying to be cute with it and it helped me... just thought id share
