I’m a soprano, but I think this song sounds just as cool in my range as it does in tenor and alto. Good luck on your performance. My rehearsals start in January, and I’m so nervous. Looking at this from a director’s point of view, I would cast me as Nala, because they know I’ve done characters like her. I don’t really want to play Nala though, because she is so much like other characters, I want to expand my character experience. I play Shenzi and I thought id hate it but I actually really like it! At first I thought Shenzi was just like comic relief but I’ve been able to turn her into more of a villain than just comical. My costume is Frickin sick too I wear like a bunch of leather and spike collars and stuff

This is my first real school play, all the ones I’ve done before were ones where we just sang and spoke into microphones. No choreography. But this is one where we run around and March. This'll help a lot! I have auditions next month and I want to be either Timon, Scar, Shenzi, Nala, or Zazu (in that order from most to least). I've been practicing for 2 weeks now and I realized that I haven't been practicing the songs, this will help for my scar audition.
I'll never forget: when I did this musical back in 7th grade (Im a Junior in HS now), Scar was this boy that-- low key hated me XDDD I heard from a friend that he was struggling remembering the words when one day he saw me singing it, and came up to me and was like: "That... is actually the right words." and I was like: "Yea. I get bored sitting and drawing while watching you perform. Might as well sing with ya hm?" and from then, he seemingly remembered the words lol it was hilariously weird --
I was in a production of lion king and I was playing scar! Unfortunately we were in tech week and COVID 19 hit and we didn’t get to perform BUT I get to perform the song at an outside concert and I am SO Excited. It was my first lead in a show and I’m sad we had to cancel but at least we get to do something!
