I like to grow heirlooms when I can, but down here in the swamp of Northwest Florida, disease resistance in tomatoes is very helpful to successfully growing tomatoes and cucumbers and other veggies that have multiple disease issues.
@@SuccessfulGardens1 I’ve been growing Celebrity since it won an AAS award back in the ‘80s. It’s a medium slicer that’s loaded with disease and nematode resistance. There’s a new Celebrity Plus that came out recently and I intend to try Red Snapper.
Myself raise 26 types and mostly waste of time space and double my work. I'm overall happy I did in that I have found 3 tomatoes that I believe I'll be raising for years to come growing side by side and 4 types of gardening methods I've found that some ways are better than others and I believe every garden is different location temperatures moisture soil types and you need to experience the soils or learn from someone that doesn't work your garden.. My favorite all around tomato ain't going to be everyone's. We eat different and mixing meats with our foods or sandwiches is different with each type of tomatoes. Season are very short for some to even ripped. Just because it's rare it might be forgotten for the wrong reasons. To find best heirloom I say get a pick from a company with the shortest heirloom list bet if they only 5 heirloom tomato Brandywine and Cherokee purple and Black Krim on the short list so start with short list I've had my best results when Gurney seed company says they recommend and just my experience. Bakers Creek Seeds heirloom are carries hybrids also and they are better for most small garden

Thanks for watching. Are there some disease resistant tomatoes that you prefer to grow?

Fedco catalog reminds me of Trader Joe's mailers. I found out Bayer supplies many of the big seed houses.
Fedco is like stepping back in time! Thanks for watching.
