Message to Blood bikers : God bless you for applying your unique skillset\passion and taking up such a dangerous challenge to volunteer and put others lives before your own. You are the salt of the earth. Message to the current government of England: How dare you allow these incredibly skilled and selfless people to be unpaid volunteers, shame on you! There are so many grossly overpaid profession’s in both government and in private sector life…. To allow these life saving hero’s to be unpaid volunteers is absolutely criminal! Please fix your moral compass!!
Selfless, inspirational life savers. Thank you all, whether you’re in Kent or Cumbria, London or Lanarkshire your contribution to the community is a real treasure.
I live in the United States but I wanted to say that I look up to all of you I think you are real life angels you help people to live so God bless you and keep you safe as you go back and forth on your journeys
Very briefly I did organ transport using a Ford Escort Combi van, it looked like a police dog van & even had one of those spinning air vents on the roof. Anyway, as I mentioned I did some organ transport, sometimes blood, out of Victoria Coach station mostly. I sometimes drove on blue lights but I never got a job where the item was desperately needed, every time I rushed in to whatever hospital with the bag or box, there was never a sense of urgency ! It was always very anti-climatic, even though I had rushed through London traffic to get there. I even did a relay job one time that ended the same way, absolutely ridiculous was my experience, why was I rushing around for the hospital to just get to it as & when ?
When I think of what makes a really beautiful person, not fancy clothes and makeup and peacocking and posing. Doing things for others, serving society, taking risks that need to be taken, being in a good state, always ready.
James your never too old, please come and join our family, check out your local group on the NABB (national association of blood bikes) website. Your never too old to help.
Hello I am a teacher from Bradford. I am creating an educational video for young people teaching them about the importance of our amazing emergency services and why they must be respected. Please could I use some of this footage with crediting of course?
Blood Bikers recently became a recognised part of the UK's emergency services. As such, we are allowed to use emergency blue lights (just like the police, fire brigades and ambulance services), and, in times of emergency, and given that the terrain and conditions permit it, can surpass the posted speed limit, as well as move through red lights. Again, this is done by trained riders with advanced qualifications, and many of our members from our teams are ex and current service staff (military and other services, like Police) that are trained in fast response driving.
Currently Blood bikes are not covered under Section 19 , thus this does not permit the "surpassing" of a speed limit nor does this allow moving through a Red light
👍 Bless our skilled, motivated volunteers -- whatever tasks they take on...! 😎
They saved my life march 2019,so to them guys and staff at arrowpark hospital Wirral, thank you all xxxx
That's awesome ♥️

In a medical emergency, the road becomes the veins and the blood bikers the immune bodies.
Planning to do my test this year (16 years of riding on CBT) and would love to look at doing this for NW Blood Bikers.
Massive well done to all of you 👍👏👏👏

Awesome people doing a fantastic job. Take care you guys.
Crikey! I need to do the IAM. I aspire to be one of the crew
Do they have any exemptions from traffic regulations?
Thank you, blood riders, I will be one of you very soon 👍🏽

It's strange that blood bikes aren't permitted to use blue lights and sirens. They're just normal road users but with important cargo.
i know two blood bikers who have delivered office paper, they weren't amused.
Warum gibt es das nicht in Deutschland. Ich wäre sofort dabei!
Is an IAM a good enough qualification to volunteer? And do you use your own bike and fuel ?
IAM advanced is what is needed as well as an assessment on the Blood bike usually. Bike and fuel is supplied.
I just wish I had done something like this too old now !!!!!! And I have a full bike licence

nice film
Are they allowed to brake speed limits?

Regardless. If they need to pass speed limits to save someone, we all will let it go. Thank you for what you do ♥️
theses bikers are something else ?
The police leave you alone
These blood bikers should be allowed to run on blues and twos.......
Some of them are but you need to do training to be legally allowed to drive a vehicle using blue lights
