I just got a Kramer pacer classic from Sweetwater and the thing will not stay in tune, if I touch the low e it goes way flat. Any recommendations for what I should check or if there are root causes for that? I’ve changed the strings a couple times already and I’ve got the floating bridge flush with the body but no video on TH-cam has really helped me solve the problem. Is there any root cause for why the thing won’t hold tuning? Thanks love the vids 🤘🏾

Man, yeah I know it’s a year after this was posted but this somewhat “resurgence” of Kramer is so mind boggling to me. The guitar in the video was my very first guitar I bought for $200 in ‘95-‘96. I wasn’t super crazy about the guitar but I LOVED the neck . So I dropped a cool 800 bones and had it refretted, installed Schaller tuners, and what I believe at the time were the Steve Luthaker 85/SA/SA set. Now that’s all fine and dandy, but being 17 I was nieve and could never get it to sound even playable plugged in. When I took it back in to get reassessed, I was blown off and told everything was fine. I brought in my brand new Carvin MTS 3200 100w tube amp and that was fine. So… the jackass guitar tech had put the battery just loosely under the pickguard… which is how I learned about active electronics 😢. Long story longer I bought a Tele and moved on with life😂. Fast forward 25 years. I still have that Kramer buried in a closet at my parents house. I can’t wait to get my hands on it now. I got ahold of the Carvin amp about 2 weeks ago. It all still works and is basically in unused condition spare some dust. I think she might need some new Celestions🤩
These are great necks and the guitars them selves are actually pretty damn good. You can achieve a similar result by tilting the neck but recessing the bar always gives more up pull. I’ll do a video on how to do that one day. I highly recommend locking tuners for this guitar if you don’t have them already.
I built in a Seymour Duncan Black Winter Humbucker and a Floyd Rose with Locking Nut . It's a great Guitar even when its built in a cheaper way than others. I own it since late 80th.
These really are very good guitars. The neck is fantastic! Plus it has the Schaller version of the FRT3. Most people think this is the first Floyd Rose but that is incorrect. This version of the 3 was being made at the same time as the Fernandes version of the 3.
@@REXYLAB I bought the guitar in 1988 I think. One with the Floyd Rose without Locking Nut and locking bridge that were build in 1985 I think. So I decided to modify it with a more modern Floyd rose System with Locking Nut Bridge and Fine Tuners. Plus Locking Mechanics from Schaller. All in lovely black on a red Striker. All the mechanic modification were more expencive than the striker was when I bought it .. haha... I let the modification of the nut done by a Guitar shop. The had to mill out some parts of the body an at the nut. It was too hard to handle for me. Now while I play Guitar again I put in the Seymour Duncan Humbucker - The original one was good, no question. A Seymour Duncan type as far as I know. But the Black Winter has a lot of output! It was quite good, but sounds great now. Its in a realy good shape for the age. On Sunday I will use it on stage :)
Just today I bought a Kramer Striker 300ST at a consignment shop. It is my second guitar and first electric. I tore the whole thing down tonight to clean it up. Thanks for the video, it helped a lot.

I actually traded it way back when to my local guitar shop for something (don’t remember what) and they sold it to a guy that wound up working there. I have a series that I am doing and it will probably never end called “would a Floyd Rose by any other name play as sweet”. Since this has a single locking Floyd on it I made the new owner a deal, if he let me borrow it I would go through it entirely and straighten it all out. When he got it back he was very happy with it. I can mention to him that you are interested in it and to contact you here about it if he wants to sell it. @@REXYLAB I kind of did the same thing but mine got Frankensteined. I still have the single locking floyd on it. I was a dumb kid that didn't know what I was doing on guitars. But now I just want one stock as it was. It was a really good guitar for what it was. I have seen others but the one you have is the best one I've seen in a long time. Mine was mint too... They did change a lot from this to 88. If there is no truss rod adjustment at the headstock it damn better be down at the heal of the neck. That means taking off a he neck to adjust the truss rod. @@hollywoodactress I don’t know actually. The 80s one is actually pretty good. The plywood body doesn’t really make a ver big difference. Compared to my solid body focuses. I haven’t spent much time with the new Kramers other than the night swan and Beretta reissues and those seem great.
I do not. That is an actual German single locking Floyd Rose and it’s almost entirely original (I think one knob is different). The thing about the old strikers from this era is they are plywood bodies. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing but it isn’t necessarily a good thing either. I’m a little shocked that this video has done as well as it has. But that’s cool. The neck is fantastic and it plays and sounds nice. Good guitar for what it is.
@@robb4340 according to my research absolute top dollar for that pair combined would be 325 euros before tax. That is inflating what both have gone for in the last month by quite a bit. A more realistic number is probably 275 to 300 euros. Keep in mind I f you overpay that is what drives prices up.

I have a 88 striker 300st, but there is no trust rod adjustment hole ? Do i need to take the neck off to adjust the neck?

That depends on the manufacturer. The color codes are all different. What brand pickup do you have?
