Thanks! Austell is a great spot to watch trains. I never expected these, to be honest with you, in a matter of hours each day. It is just outside of Atlanta. What a great finish to the year!
Say, if you want to plan a trip to Folkston, book a flight to Atlanta, rent a car and drive to Folkston and spend as much time as you want there. And before you fly back home, make your way back to Atlanta and make a stop at Austell. From there the airport is really easy to get to, without using the congested interstates. This is how I planned my trip down there and it was totally worth it.
Thanks, Josh! This is a great spot to be, peaceful too and not like in like a larger city where it's more difficult to get a good shot. Austell is a suburb of Atlanta, by the way. I did not expect to see that much just a couple of hours each day, but I was pretty satisfied at the end!
Thanks! It's a great spot for the NS action. It's pretty easy to find too. Now I did not expect to see that much stuff but I was pretty satisfied at the end.
Haha, is that you, Aiden? Well, thanks for the comment, first of all. I'm thinking it was getting pretty close to the New Year's curtailment, for NS it was 3PM of 12/31 I believe. I read Austell sees about 50-60 trains per day because two districts (aka main lines) are coming together, so it is always busy.
Great video and happy new year!
Thanks and you too! And great way to end the 2013 year too!
Great video and catches! Damn that place looks great! If only I could get there...

Nice Allen! Was it so busy because of the x mas shut down, or is it always so busy?
