That is the double edged sword called Internet, they can love their heroes, but they love more seeing them fail and fall, opinions and support only goes so far as the public opinion deems you the "good guy".
I like to imagine this is EXE and Hog arguing on which is more humiliating, being in the spotlight, and all traces of you getting wiped immediately, or only getting noticed through a cancelled version of what was supposed to be great, and not being able to show your true glory.
I like the idea that one thinks the other is the real Sonic hoping that they like their imitation of him, this goes on for an entire day until half way through the song Hog realizes that Faker is, well, a faker, resulting in Hog revealing their true form. After seeing that they were practically the same, Faker reveals his true form as well wanting to converse with another imitator. While Hog is pissed that he was bamboozled and that Faker copied him, Faker still wanted to hang out with Hog because they had the exact same idea and thought it was neat that they were very similar. This goes until Hog's code begins to break apart, forcing himself to patch up with other assets in order to not die, and Faker is genuinely concerned about Hog and their health. And in the end, Hog just stops and Faker just feels bad.
For Hog fan I agree with you guys that his lore look interesting than Exe and his original concept design looks really creepy and scary. But the new one doesn't look scary at all, instead it looks badass. But While Exe looks normal and generic But that's why it makes us nervous because we don't know if this guy is real or not. and when he start transform I'm pretty sure many pals are definitely freaking out.
