  • I review the 2013 Yamaha XJ6 FA Diversion.
I loved it! What a machine!
BTW, topspeed is 202kph. (I tested it, on a closed track obviously).
AGAIN, had to break it down into two parts.... Wanna see me on a KTM RC390? Vote here!

Got my XJ6S (semi fared) last week and love it - first bike ever for me and it's both challenging as well as confidence inspiring to ride.

Excellent review, as always! I enjoy your take on the bikes, and as a bonus I get to see beautiful areas of Portugal. Looking forward to what is next. My favorites so far are the MT-09 and that little CB500X. Thanks man!

Regarding the comfort of this bike, I have ridden it all day long several times and at the end of the day I still want to continue riding . It's very comfortable indeed.

This was the review I wanted from you, but never thought I would get. This and the CBR500R are the bikes I have my eye on. Thanks for your insightful reviews.

Good option bike, i propably go for nc700 as fuel consumption is very important issue for me...but xj6- 4.5 liter per 100km is not bad too.

The maintenance interval is 10000km, which is quite good for a regular 600cc (6000km for hornet, for instance). And the temperature on this bike...oh GOD, it's HOT!! Nice in colder days, though :)

Jerry Lee Lewis appreciates the reference to his song :) .
The heat from the engine is a real characteristic for this bike and is noticeable on hot days.
My consumption is less than 4,5l/100Km in regular commuting.
Cager I would gladly give you my XJ6F but I love it so much :) .
Everyone knows you Cager :) .
The top speed on mine is 215Km/h, tested ONCE on a plane track and full throttle.

Nice review, Cager. If you have the chance to test the Yamaha MT-09, that would be "awesome"! Boas curvas!

Can we expect a Duke 390 review anytime soon? Would be nice to have some competition for the CB500 for beginners... :D

re-watching this review, the thing that i really loved on this bike are the street bike style handle bars. wide and high. not very common i think on faired bikes

One thing you didn't mention is the sound of the exhaust. Everybody complains my bike is TOO silent :) .

Great review. I passed my test on the naked version of this bike. I'm thinking of getting one of these, a Honda CBR500r, or a Kawasaki ER-6f (Ninja 650 in the states).
If you ever get a chance to ride and review a Kawasaki Er-6f, please do!
If someone said they would give you a bike - either the CBR500r, or this XJ6 Diversion F, which one would you pick? Thanks.
    Keep up the great videos!

Thanks for your review about XJ6 Diversion F.
Could you please make a test drive with Kawasaki ER-6f?

Agree! i have a cb500f ,my first big bike and i used to drive a pcx 125 that i still have actually. from about 130kg to 190 kg i had quite a bit of trouble to ride the bike although i love it. the extra weight it's surely a pain in the "?|\$%. now i struggling a bit doing U-turns that on a lighter bike surely are a piece of cake...but ooh well we live a learn.

hot balls are common on this bike, in city most of all. the seat gets uncomfortable after 3 - 4 hour ride... also i dropped it once, while standing still, too heavy for a beginner and it was the day before my driving exam.

Hi, which would you recommend for me, between this XJ6 Diversion or the new CBR 650F? We only have the semi fairing version of the XJ6 Diversion here.
I've been riding my CBR 250 R daily to work for more than 3 years already, now looking for a more powerful bike to replace it. In my country, both of these bikes are similarly priced. I'm a bit concerned with the XJ6 heat since it is summer all year long here.
    Thank you for your feedback.
