A walk mode boot, only pivots at the ankle. As you can see from the video the whole cuff opens up front and back here. it is an extremely different concept altogether.
1:37 why does it look and sound like there is play in the cuff? @ some of the comments prior to 2 May 2024, there is some validity in wanting a rear entry boot; target audience are older skiers or skiers with body flexibility challenges.

it is very different a touring boat is the same as any other ski boot other than the fact that it has a hiking mode, which allows the entire boat to pivot at the heel and is only fixed into the Ski binding at the toe until you Ski. if you check out the later part of the video, you will see how this boot cuff entirely opens up, enabling you to slip your foot in and out without any effort at all.
@@Inthesnowmag- Sorry, not following you. I've owned two touring boots & both of them had cuffs that pivot backwards if in touring mode. The problem usually comes with the instep part of the clog getting in the way of the foot as you try to enter/exit.
@@Benzknees Yeah. not a great explanation. My guess is that it is similar to the walk mode of a touring boot but allows a lot more rearward movement than a touring boot. I think nordica's HF rear entry boot does something similar. The nice things about this Rossi boot is that the lever is part of the upper buckle and unlike the Nordica, its a four buckle overlap boot.
indeed, although I think the oocking mechanism does add to that to make it a far stiffer more stable boot when in the normal ski position, that old Lange boot was pretty sloppy when skiing!
@@Inthesnowmag ha ha ha. I'm guessing you've never seen a popular boot around for years. You showed how much it opened up, which was good of you. The full tilt line took the whole front of. Clearly a significantly wider opening. Though I am interested to see yours in person.
Will have to see how they hold up with the pivot/lock pin.
yes I agree but I'm guessing a company that big have put it thru some serious testing...

I cover both of the above reasons and just picked a pair up. I did NOT want to like these, but they are very slick.
@1:37 is there play once the lock pin is engaged?

thanks ', i like how rossignol fit my feet' 26.5 got to do a fit chck on these', good idea!
This concept is similar to the Lange MID from late 1980s.

Take a look at boa ski boots maybe that might help 😮
@@v3r0x+1 to the K2 BOA recommendation; if you hate buckles but still love microadjustments, it is one sweet boot.
Depends on how stiff they are, put on a 140 flex then post.
Will there be a touring version?
@@kolzadomati I'm sure there will be but not initially

"easiest" is a click bait joke. K2/full tilt are far easier, and replace the $20 tongue and go up in flex.
I'm guessing you don't speak from experience given the fact this boot isn't anywhere in the public domain yet 😮
