This looks like a race that is done the very old fashioned way, everyone starts running at the sound of the gun or the horn. Elite women are not given a head start and there are no "waves" of runners according to pre-determined miles-per-hour of each participant. The new system is good in that it allows the elite women to compete against each other with males getting in their way, but the bad thing is that slower runners, runners who have no chance of winning but might still be quite fast for weekend athletes, have to wait until the elite people finish the race and that means waiting as much as three hours after the elite runners start before they can start running .
