You're probably right about that feeling so use it to your advantage. Embrace that you've changed but without work from the other, they (therefore the situation) will not have changed. Scorpio here - I do know what "3rd times a charm" refers to for me, personally. My love and I met unexpectedly.. He, a construction worker, was put in charge on the project of replacing the retaining wall in my backyard. It was an instant connection however neither wanted to say anything since we didn't know each other at all, not even a friend in common to do some "digging". We finally got over that hump when he finished up the months long project. But it's been anything but easy street.. Because of our relationship history's, this has been a long, bumpy "ride" as we get to know each other. I've called it quits more than once, which is why "3rd times a charm" fits.. It's coming up on 4 years and I'm just now feeling completely safe but I guess that's to be expected after my time in an 8½ year relationship that included mental & emotional abuse. I feel guilty for it taking me so long, though. I'm learning he's an incredible man and I'm so very thankful for the day he walked into my life.

You're probably right about that feeling so use it to your advantage. Embrace that you've changed but without work from the other, they (therefore the situation) will not have changed. Know it and accept it as a possibility in the future meeting. Time passing is NOT an apology: just popping up hoping things are cool or that you will just pick up where you two left off. If the words/actions don't immediately suggest change, insight, or apologies then it's same sh*t different day.
Remember, you feeling the inevitable meeting is not a punishment - it's an opportunity to exercise your growth. The same stands for them too, it's a rise to change not remain the same so they likely feel the inevitable as well. People have a tendency to desire an outcome in their favor without having done the work. I hope they've done the work but if not you will need to do what is right for you. 2024 was a year long lesson, and the above "lesson" started from July, and literally went on until the very last day of 2024.
I'm comfortable to say that I have learnt the lesson the hard way (getting shot by a silver bullet dipped in kryptonite wasnt fun...). To some degree, I'm glad that I went through all this, because this is a life lesson I never knew I needed (still wouldn't wanted it if asked thou lol). Knowing that pain has made me a kinder person, and in result has made me a better person. The cherry on top in all this, is that during my hard time I have discovered this channel :) Thank you Christina, and the beautiful community you have built.
