Brother Paul’s argument doesn’t hold weight. The Christian is in the right. It’s the same thing if someone said should any thief have their hand cut off because it says so in the Qur’an? The answer is of course, no. So the point the Christian makes, makes sense here. The problem he has that the Muslim doesn’t have is that how are you supposed to understand it then if there’s no Hadith or Ijma’ or Qiyas like we have in Islam to guide us in specifying and clarifying a general statement? That’s where Brother Paul would have a stronger argument.

Your argument is to ignore the parts you don't like and won't follow from any discourse because either you're not educated on it or all context for it is lost which is also not in the book preserved. Ergo the religion is lost.

@ziyayilmazer2059 It depends on the context of the society within which that happens, the ancient Israelites are very strictly religious, someone who curses their parent to their face at age of 16 in that culture is an extremely deranged individual, in your society in which kids are bombarded all day with the most sinister sexual and violent queues from open places "for marketing purposes" (I know because I've been there) then a youth with a dirty tongue is not to be blamed for it.

@wayofthenazarene303 You said " the christian tradition has lost the parameters by which this commandment should be carried out " This very statement of yours testifies against you, in that you follow tradition rather than Jesus and the Nazarines. Jesus, contrary to your claim, cleary said I did not come to change the law but to complete/fulfill it. Therefore stoning unruly children is binding and you should implement it if u really follow Jesus. When the disciples heard that Paul was going around telling people they no longer needed to obey the law, they summoned him, ie Paul, and rebuked him for that and compelled him to desist, shave his head and observe a Nazarite vow. James, Jesus's brother, was then head of the church. In conclusion, my friend, change the shirt you are wearing, or wipe out the logo on it because Jesus is in one world while you are in another... Good luck

My issue with Christians is that they are so dishonest when it comes to clear cut passages of their books, for example, " anyone that curses his parents..." but anyone doesn't actually mean anyone! Also the passage "I have come only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel" actually means he came for everyone! Also " the father is the only true God" but actually only doesn't mean only. It includes others !

Every religion has a prophet pbuh following the Prophets ways and guidance and revelation if a Rasool or prior Sharia if a Nabi pbuh. Bani Israrl known to destroy the messengers pbut all sent to them and labeled as the disobedient nation. Punished and the covenant taken away handed to Arabs. Just because the final messenger pbuh came from the line of Ishmael pbuh and not Isaac pbuh the bani Israel knowing ie having knowledge of his pbuh and his arrival did not acknowledge the final Priphet pbuh sent as anmercy to mankind. Their disobedience afflicting them with punishments from Allah ie the works of their own hands. Period! The bani Israel knew that Isa pbuh was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel and Isa pbuh did announce exactly the same. But bani israel being that disobedient nation did not accept him because of his virgin birth. May Allah forgive me if I am wrong. Allah can do anything befitting his Majesty. In the other hand the gentiles followed the enemy of Isa pbuh and his followers being the bounty hunter ie Paul. What craziness? No one else witnessed the vision of Isa pbuh or any msg from Isa pbuh. Abandoning the law mixing in the spices of the Roman paganism ( not sure but who knows if retained by the Romans ?)

*17:22** Do not set up any other god with Allah, or you will end up condemned, abandoned.*
*17:23** For your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him.* And honour your parents. If one or both of them reach old age in your care, never say to them ˹even˺ ‘ugh,’ nor yell at them. Rather, address them respectfully.
17:24 And be humble with them out of mercy, and pray, “My Lord! Be merciful to them as they raised me when I was young.”
17:25 Your Lord knows best what is within yourselves. If you are righteous, He is certainly All-Forgiving to those who ˹constantly˺ turn to Him.

12:38 How is Jesus (AS) of the Bible like Moses (AS)? He had no father. He had no wife, and consequently, he had no children. We only have a set of anonymous, partial, and often contradictory accounts of the last 3-4 years of his life. There are no canonical complete biographical records of Jesus. Therefore, at the very least, Christians have no evidence of Jesus fulfilling the prophesy of a Messenger like Moses (AS)

  • @theonlyway5298
    @theonlyway5298 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

*Firstly - its worth noting Paul Williams's error here: There is no mention of a "youth" in Leviticus 20:9 - it is NOT in the text*
The subject of this sentence in Hebrew is: אִ֗ישׁ which does not mean "youth". It simply means 'one', as in a general reference.
*Secondly - the Levitical laws like this, were for the purpose of stating a standard of expected behaviour.* These punishments were not carried out in a arbitrary manner - this is why in Ancient Jewish society and religion, a court and judges were instituted to decide upon the application of the laws.....and we have a whole chapter in the Bible called "Judges". So an accusation coming from someone that they have been 'cursed' by their offspring would have to be established by several witnesses.
*Thirdly - Paul Williams has not understood the implications of the word 'curse', which is why he thinks that this law is unjust.* The word curse here is קָלַל but its implications in terms of ancient curses are not simply 'swearing at your parents'. Curses in ancient societies in the Near and Middle East, including Israel, had a similar nature to curses in Africa, Europe and around the world. They are intentionally designed evil that is purposed to make the receiver damaged, ill or even dead. In Africa even to this day, curses are used to try to kill the receiver. At the very least, they are designed to severely hurt, deprive or damage the receiver. This is why in Africa for instance, specialist 'witch doctors' are visited to obtain a curse to put on someone.
One example of a curse, was recently discovered on the top of Mount Ebal, in which there was a piece of metal that had been inscribed and then folded in half. The inscription actually contained a curse.
So where Paul Williams has misused what he thought was a "nugget of condemnation", is that he has not understood the following:
*a)* Who this law is applied to - it isn't applicable to youth or those whose judgement is immature or who are flippantly back mouthing their parents
*b)* Laws like this were designed to state a standard of expected behaviour. Such laws had to be considered as to their appropriate use in the context of any particular case and this took place in a court of law, where a case was investigated.
*c)* A curse in this context is not simply using a bad word. Curses were designed to damage, deprive, make ill or kill the recipient and could be of various degrees of evil.
