- A few days back I was scrolling through Facebook Marketplace and came across a listing for an individuals childhood Pokémon Card collection! I shot them a message and we eventually worked out a deal! In this video you can see my arriving to purchase the binder and a full overview of what was inside!

This was my collection that I sold to AJ! I did had some cards to the binder a few years ago but otherwise left them in there since the early 2010s. While I certainly didn’t know/understand the accurate value of the cards, I actually did not put together the TCG listing that is referenced. I tried selling the cards a few months ago and somebody shared it with me listing them at NM. I assumed the cards were probably in pretty good shape since I hadn’t touched them in a long time and seemed liked there was(potentially) a lot of value with a small % of the cards. I enjoyed seeing the cards get a proper review and that’ll they’ll be moved through a community I haven’t been a part of in a long time!
Thanks so much for meeting up and allowing me to purchase your childhood collection! I hope I did it justice with a video as well! I will definitely make sure they go to good homes too, I have a couple local friends already asking to trade cards!
Totally get it on the TCG player breakdown. Mainly mentioned it to spread awareness to new collectors. The difference between Near Mint pricing and Mod/Heavy Play is extreme on some cards. You go from having a jackpot to a few bucks. Condition is everything when it comes down to some of these more sought after vintage cards for sure.

Wanted to comment here that I just purchased almost the whole binder to go to my mastersets of the entire DPPT-HGSS era! This is my childhood era too; I’m super grateful you sold this binder to AJ so I could knock out a huge chunk of my project to relive my childhood memories. ❤

Nothing more fun than finding binders or collections in the wild! With that many unique cards I think you'll make out okay, and the seller received a very fair amount. Good deal all around.
Definitely love picking up binders like this! I've done it a few times now on the channel and it is so much fun flipping through the pages of someone's collection from years back. Especially with you find hidden gems and need cards for your own collection!

Diamond & Pearl and Platinum are such underrated cards, especially the holos. The Secret Wonders Arcanine in there is one of my favorite Arcanines. That Dragon Frontiers Kirlia was sick.
Completely agree! So many slept on artworks from this era. That Kirlia was definitely a sick find flipping through the pages!

Thank you so much! I too love Dragon Ball but refuse to get into the TCG as I know I would instantly be addicted to it. I however also collect DBZ Funkos which is probably worse because there are so many to store. The walls in my room are covered in Funko shelves ha. Cheers!

One of the best eras for holos! So many had holo bleeds that looked brilliant under the light.
So many of these did have holo bleed! Such an amazing era for sure! Not what I'm currently collecting but I'll get there one day and I'm looking forward to it!!
Love buying and breaking down binders! Think the tyranitar EX is the “biggest card” in there besides the zard unless it’s wrecked. Pop series EXs from that era are very hard to find nowadays especially in good condition. The non-holo variants (which look like fakes on first glance) also are quite rare since they are exclusive to the promo packs. The holo variants usually came in blisters
As far as value goes the Charizard or Shiny Swablu are probably the most expensive. Unfortunately the Pop1 TTar was pretty banged up 😥

Dude this is a sweet collection. I wasn't collecting during that time either and everything I have picked up from that era makes me wish more and more I'd been collecting!

Awesome pick up man. My greatest pick up was getting a ton of e readers for $180 the value was around $1700.

Yeah definitely useful for trades. Anything outside of WOTC for me is a no go, that’s where the designs fell off for me.
For sure! I will make it to this era eventually but no point stock piling all of it right now. Having too much fun in the WOTC era for sure! e-Readers are #1 priority as you know ha!

@@lunarey8248 All binder pickup vids save the price reveal until the end. Deep Pocket Monster does the same thing. What good is knowing the price paid if you don't first look at the condition? If you don't assess condition first, I have some cards to sell you.
