Fantastic video. I too was getting stumped by the trigger of the old form ID still working. Perhaps it's related to part of the ID string that's encoded as there seems to be similar characters early on in the string? You explained it very well though and this helped me!
Thank you for this video! Does it matter that the Power Automate flow is connected to your personal account? Is there a way for the "group" to make the flow? I am also having trouble with getting an email to automatically send from the SharePoint Group's email and not my own when a response is submitted. Do I have to be the creator of the group in order to do that?
No, does not matter. All flows need to be owned by an individual user. You can make a group co-owner of a flow, but never the "primary" owner. If you want to set the "From" of the Outlook email action to the group email address, you need "Send as" permission on that group mailbox. Any Exchange or global admin can make that change. You don't need to be the owner of the group, but you do need to be a member of it.
What's the issue? At a minimum, you'll need to submit a response with a file uploaded/attached to trigger creation of the folder for that question. I've also had cases where the question needed to be deleted and re-created in order to create the appropriate folder.
Hi Chad, your video is very helpful. Is it safe to move the form to a group while the form is Live or should I wait until all responses have been received? Many thanks :)
I'm not sure what would happen if someone were submitting a response at exactly the same time as you moving the form. It's unlikely that would occur, but to be safe, I would suggest making the move when you know nobody is filling out the form or temporarily closing the form before you move it.
