you can get a fifth wheel tailgate that has a V shape so you can minimize the times you have to get out and either raise the trailer up just back in hook up and go.
Bro! be careful your tank is illegal according to 49 CFR Ch 3 (393.65) 6b; I understand saving money but the highway patrol does not. Cap off your drain valve and get DOT certified fr1210 pump for top. You might be able to remove your gauge location and use for fill neck or swap location with pump and add threaded brass connection then you might be in a better legal position? Double check me to see if it all checked out? We work to hard for are money to give it to Uncle Sam! P.S. Don’t forget to put lock on it. Good luck to you and your channel! Oh! One more item they make a small portable 12 volt transfer pump as well which might work good for your situation on Amazon?
I was on Synergy's site and they talk about needing a breakaway battery: 12 Volt Marine Battery with studs and wing nuts and a breakaway battery box with ratchet strap. Do you have these items? I was hoping you'd show your whole setup with an RV, but great video nonetheless!
Hi Johnny! I hope you like that type of work being you invested some money into it. Looks like you have a good set up! I should have installed a auxillary fuel tank when we first started.
Your phone is in the way of my programmer/ gauges for the engine.. way too many wires all over! Love the cooler! But need to run a fused/ dedicated line for any bigger draw items, like the cooler.
Good afternoon!!! I was wondering beside all of this how to get started with this industry I was looking into hotshot but started to check on rv transport too… any feedback is helpful thanks
How much do you earn per mile? How much do you spend on fuel per mile? Can you sleep in the RV instead of the truck? Is there a maximum number of hours or miles you can drive per day? Nice setup by the way. 😀
Per mile is based on what I’m pulling and where it’s going. Around $1.20-$1.60/mile. Not enough data yet to figure price per mile on fuel. No sleeping in the RV allowed. Maximum drive time is 11 hours/day.
I almost starved to death doing this. Plenty of frieght out and nothing back so what you made was spent on backtracking. In my day you could sleep in the campers. Use your sleeping bag. You can not use anything in the camper; no toilet, no microwave but smart drivers figure all of that out. Good luck. Maybe things have changed.
Sounds like you may have been doing drive away (correct me if I’m wrong). If so, yes, that pay is much lower (70-80 cents/mile). With that, you would spend a lot of your pay getting back to pick up another load. I do tow away, which is paying $1.40-$1.60/mile. Even with fuel expense and return/deadhead miles I’m still profiting over 80 cents/mile. So doing great here.
@@NoAcresHomestead how can you be profiting 80cpm if you are only being paid 1.50 a loaded mile and have to deadhead back? Think about it. 1,000 mile loaded, 1,000 mile deadhead back, is like getting 75cpm for the whole 2,000 miles. You are basically giving your truck away thinking it is profit.
@@jeremyechternach1247 How do you justify that, $1.50 a mile then the deadhead back ? I have an acquaintance that pulled for Horizon at $2.60 mile. But once he saw my income he bailed on the RV transport and got into hotshoting.
@@jeremyechternach1247 Actually he was getting $2.60 mile, single pull. Just called him to confirm. Since your CPM must be above $0.70 mile, how can you justify $1.50 mile, with 50% deadhead ??? Unless you're retired and are just doing it to see the country.
its my understanding the back seat of a pickup does not meet the minimum measurements for a bunk , without having the bump outs where the windows are .
It’s not a DOT certified sleeper. So in transporting this way we have to say “off duty” instead of “sleeper berth”. If you drive as a team, you have to do the upgrade install to make the backseat a legal sleeper berth. It runs about $2000 for those modifications.
Yes. You can’t classify it as a sleeper berth on your logs without modifications. But you can sleep there while in off duty mode. To log it as a sleeper berth you have to do a $2500 modification to convert it to DOT sleeper berth.
As a truck driver I don't understand how you guys sleep in those pick up trucks. I can't for the life of my imagine being on the road in such a small space.
Bama boy here also. Can't wait to join the MISSION.....rvhauling
Yes. GET THE AUXILIARY TANK!!! Mine's only 60 gallons, but it makes ALL the difference. Peace of mind also! 👍
Bye
Welcome to Synergy. I have been here a couple years almost. I do haul and tow now. My wife and I use to do 2 1 tons together. Good luck and stay safe.
Yes auxiliary fuel tank is a must! Also a good bed( not on the seat) and a good brush guard! One deer will wreck your world!
Thanks for the tour. Be safe out there.
Really looking forward to this new segment of your Channel
Looks like you guys are all setup at Bowleys already! Safe travels! Merry Christmas to you and Yours! (And Gadget too!)

Hey Johnny, glad to see you doing something you enjoy. Much better than the cable life.
Looks great ! I’m considering doin this as well. Good looking setup !
Looks like you got it pretty well figured out Johnny. Safe travels.

Does synergy do a fuel surecharge for the drivers?

We are looking into getting a fuel tank to put in the bed of the truck. Our truck only has a 18 gallon fuel tank.
Hi, I saw your video. Just wondering how much it cost for your plates in Alabama?
Great tour looks like you have lots of technology at your fingertips 😊
We gotta build that bed

Merry Christmas RV S.W.A.T.! We'll be starting with Synergy at the first of the year! Enjoyed your video!
That’s great!! Keep in touch, and have a great time! Merry Christmas 🎄
@@NoAcresHomestead thanks! Have a wonderful Christmas! And a blessed new year! Hope to catch you on the road in the new year!
love the truck layout! Did you mention how much the fuel tank cost?

good
Are you allowed to attach weight distribution hitches to the bumper pulls?
Nice setup. What will you do for heating if needed (or AC in the warmer months)?
That’s yet to be determined. Still figuring it all out.
Could you tell us what the model number on that tank is?
What is the the tool box size? And the tank size?
How is that Chevy working out for you? Can it tow 36000 lbs? Is that a 3500?
It’s working great for us. It can not do 36k pounds. I think you would need a 1 ton for that. This one is a 2500 (3/4 ton).
That 2500 will allow him to pull about 14k total. Thats gross all together truck and trailer.
Are you paid by the mile? loaded only? or all miles? Are there opportunities to earn both to & fro?
No
do you need a commercial cdl ?
Good Video Brother.
Very nice 👍
do you use a EIM
Do i need cdl!? Or just class C

What kind of spare fuel tank is that?
pretty neat 👋👍
Why not get a dually?
That’s what I wanted, but at the time I was unable to find a used one in my price range in my area. Eventually we will get one.
How much is the start up costing
Curious how the $$$ is. From my understanding it's $2.50 + a mile, but a deadhead return ??? If that accurate ???
$2.50 is not correct for single haul. More around $1.50

Diesel truck

Do you have to have a eld. Or CDLs
No eld, and CDL is optional depending on how heavy of rigs you want to haul..
@@NoAcresHomestead Anything over 26000 you must have a CDL period! Thats combined weight truck and trailer!

Diesel

Yes. You can’t classify it as a sleeper berth on your logs without modifications. But you can sleep there while in off duty mode. To log it as a sleeper berth you have to do a $2500 modification to convert it to DOT sleeper berth.

Not the ones I pull. If I want to pull the monster sized 40+ feet I will need a CDL.
