The A1A in Fort Lauderdale is so beautiful! Went there for spring break in 2020 (right before the pandemic REALLY started) and I absolutely need to go back as soon as possible! 🔥

I never really thought about it but it’s pretty rare in Florida to have the road open to the beach. A1A is open to the water from Ormand Beach to a little north of Flagler and I think there is a short stretch of HWY 98 in the panhandle to but that’s about it. Fort Lauderdale wasn’t greedy with the beach front area. The land that road sits on is very valuable.

100 miles of beachside roads in the panhandle from alabama to about mexico beach

@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS I was in Panama City Beach in the early 90’s for spring break. I haven’t been up there since. I vaguely remember a nice coastal spot on HWY 98. That trip was pretty hazy.

It socks that the fort lauderdale Beach park was closed . It was closed because of the Tortuga music fest cleanup . That's where the basketball court and benches playground and volleyball

Dude, the way to go is south on A1A down to "Las Olas", then bang a "left", east to A1A "northbound" ,and the Elbow Room is right on the corner, 😃😃😃😃😃

I have always called that Fart Lawdy Lawdy! LOL LOL. I'm a northern Florida girl so everything down there ( on the gulf side at least ) I call it all down there Fort Saint Lauder Pete. Because of googley and zillow now though I know the cities better than I did growing up.

I recently vacationed nearby in Dolphin Isles and I walked the boardwalk every morning during sunrise and it was spectacular.

Dude, there's a "7-Eleven" just south of Las Olas road on the right, just buy the beers 🍻 at 7-Eleven, then walk down Las Olas to the beach and sit under a palm tree, 😃😁😃😁😁(that's what I do! )

Thank you for sharing this video and visiting our ocean front, restaurants, hotels, festivals, shops and night clubs. Beware and use caution crossing A1A. Many locals in traffic are aware you have priority but only within the confines of a cross walk. You will also notice some of the most expensive vehicles along A1A. So before you step out into that street please give us time to break safely. Come back soon.

5 recommendations for excellent food from a locals perspective along A1A is The Floridian on Los Olas. Casa Blanca located in A1A south bound at the split. Also on the north end in Deerfield along A1A The Whales Rib with parking behind just past the bend. On A1A you'll find Smokes BBQ a casual family style eatery on the west side of A1A and on the east side of A1A is The Greek Isles restaurant. On your next visit you may want to check those out.

My family is planning a trip during sometime in early January 2023. I am a 36-year-old guy, my stepbrother is 45 years old, my mom is 61 years old, and my stepdad is 74 years old. We are not looking for anything in particular...Just somewhere walkable, good site seeing, good restaurants and food places, and relaxing/walking along the beach. We don't drink alcohol. Nigh clubs or bars are really not our thing either. My stepdad can't do any intensive amount of walking because he has back-related issues.
Which city would you recommend more: Fort Lauderdale or Key West?
