Here is the plot for those who are not entirely sure. Naseer sahab is Chef at Hotel Taj. On his birthday, his wife and friend (with his wife) come over to his workplace (Taj) to celebrate. Varun (his son) who usually gets late at every event comes on time. Coincidentally, the terrorist come at the same time and shoot all of these characters. This is why dialogues refer that if he had come late as he usually does, he could have been alive. . The short film opens with the ghost of these characters remembering that day. In real life, the wife of Varun (Naseer's DIL) is left with a son as they had not accompanied Varun to the hotel. Therefore, now they (ghosts characters) all are happy that she is moving on in life with someone else and also continuing the legacy of Naseer's recipe. The message is that similarly many lives were impacted due to that terrorist attack and will continue. Nice movie and camera shots!

Here goes a piece of detailing by the makers...........
0:46 -- the clock is of victoria station( where the attacks happened too). it is stopped to tick at 08:30 ( the terrorist attack was started around 08:00. so, these people might have died around 08:30)
01:12 -- Vijay says " they could ever have." so, currently vijay is not working at Taj. you know what that means!!!
02:27 -- you can notice about 'TIME' and varun should have delayed that day.
03:27 - Same ' TIME' detailing about the story.
    03:56 - watch out microwave time. i.e, " 2 min."
04:10 - vijay's wife gives audience that he WAS a chef at taj.
04:48 -- ' If you remember.....' coz the thing dates back to 2008. and the present story is happening after a long gap in 2017.
05:24 -- carefully notice the poetry.
06:39 -- " you are on time' (which shouldn't have happened)
07:26-- " my husband, HUSSAIN was there....' ( she says that she met him in mosque. ( was she giving audience any hint about mosque terrorist attacks?)
07:39 - "habits will get us killed one day''
08:22 - "you are the time which never passes by....." (vijay till date has aregret for varun coming to the hotel.
09:34 -- that iconic detailing " WAS not a phattu"
    10:11 - "2 min delay..............." "2 min. microwave time........." " 2nd shelf........" what a pace of maitaining.
11:20,11:45, 11:55 - final reveal of the plot.
12:29 -- she removes dupatta as vijay says to his wife. ( detailing of legacy being carried on....)
15:44 -- clock statrs ticking. oh wait!!! can you guess the importance of the time (10:55 on clock?)
16:04--'why didnt you put the lights off?" (coz he switched open the lights, we witnessed all the plot.
one final detailing: vijay and his wife lives in that home.zakhir and that girl came from outside ( but there were no sounds of ringing the bell or knocking door. it means they have appeared as such as they are souls. but when varun's wife opens the door, you can notice the change.
WHAT A PIECE OF MASTER CLASS!!!! WORTH AND MUST WATCHING!!!!!

      I misinterpreted so much-
About opening shot of clock- I was busy reading words of clock: Victoria.... London....(I thought they r talking about Victorian era in Europe 🤦)
I didn't realized we were supposed to note time and that clock wasn't working
When wife said 'chef at taaj hotel' I immediately thought about 26/11 but I decided not to go in that direction (taaj has identity other than 26/11 also) and thought they were telling us that birthday boy is very successful in his carrier and is the perfect chef
About 'was' phattu- I thought he was showing off his masculinity that he wasn't wimp then and isn't wimp now(like in jab we met; unn Dino me bhi mard tha aur aaj bhi mard hoo)
Also I thought for some reason that chef was hallucinating on his birthday about his dead family
Thanks so much for clearing up🙏

great sentence to feel emotional upheaval and that's why the narcissistic parental abuse heavily been neglected and excused and the victims grew as the shittiest versions of themselves, deals unproductive personality disorders, low self-esteems, dysfunctional lifestyles, negative mindset about self or the world, low earning individual and rely upon others -mostly controlled by these narcissistic parents ( or else south Asian parents love to threaten/scare their sons/daughters to disown from inheritance), addiction and anxiety disorder, reaction disorder, became themselves narcissistic abusers, behavioural disorder, low confidence, coward acting /cruel word user in normal conversations, anger management disorder, thinking very high of self than everyone else while actually they felt emptiness and hungry for connection on an everyday basis. they remain emotionally restless either hyper acting or dead acting individuals as they never could form the healthy humane connection as child when their cognitive system was developing. let along if that innocent victim born into a south east Asian brown family doesn't matter Hindu Muslim or shit- that individual is done for life. thank God that the western civilization is breathable and fee and open and empathetic and caring enough to address this important mental health crisis in modern day and social justice system is empowering, supportive and secured enough to get a second chance to live a life again with self-healing, growth and love happily. India on the other hand is some sort going towards the betterment of their society as most of the Indians get a chance to be better as most of the societies are educated, accepting and secular. If anything, new being invented or cause is risen - The modern India adopts that idea even many cases the low morally educated part of the societies changed themselves to become more accepting. on the other hand, the neighbouring countries are socially suffering and socially appreciating by validating narcissistic parental abuse as beautiful/religious/parental right and criticizing well parenting/non-narcissistic abusive parenting as cowardness, bad parenting or constantly attacking them with scare tactic of something bad is coming for them.
In many cases these men become rapists, sociopaths, murderers or destructive towards their own-selves. In some cases, due to certain social privilege based on their family status - these Indian men end up having high education and harness their negative energy into art or they use some form of platforms to divert their negative dysfunctional mindset like religious activities of philanthropy / meditation/ goodness. We often can see many around us silently practicing something they hold dear either art or religious meditation without much fuss. some could really produce mindboggling sensitive literature or production but most of them cannot do it cuz the smart victims always understand they negativity in their head is their own demon and not fruitful for another human being. But both parties still living under the injustice they do not deserve and not being courageous enough to address it.
While every brown woman is being taught how weak they are and they need to find a man for stability and for that how to put themselves behind men yet most of the brown women time to time push the boundaries of parental/social/ religious narcissistic abuse and came out as the most considering and empowering human version of themselves whenever they got the chance to thrive, unfortunately brown men are the vicious victims of it. Ethier they themselves become the embodiment of their misogynistic social/parental/religious narcissistic abuse doesn't matter whichever way they were attacked by them when they were growing up as a child, or they become the spineless creature on whose life and personality their abusive parents kept on feeding until one party is dead. Most of the cases these innocent men end up being controlled by another narcissistic wives and then their life become a living hell of a captive. they either become emotionally merciless or live on the pity of other people's mercy. the cycle goes on by raising more dysfunctional kids and infecting them with the mental abuse. it's never late for sit on google and search for the details of your struggles you are dealing from your childhood and you think causing hardships in processing your everyday life. The mistakes your parents did shouldn't be feel low, sinful, obligated or affirmation from anyone if you feel disturbed mentally/physically due to some ongoing issue/event or very past continuous toxic environment left you with an emotional scar and dead acting personality.
You also do not need to live a life of resentment. Only by breaking the cycle you can let yourself breath free. Remember not another marriage, childbirth, brand product or property will make you happy- for the sake of the joy you want to feel so much, every day.

While we were in the Washington airport in the US we found out about what had happened in Mumbai. Absolutely brilliant.. me and my dad just watched this and it's his Birthday today. We are completely awestruck at this masterpiece - incredible writing and filmmaking. Me being a budding writer and actor myself, it gives me that perspective you look for when u are trying to create characters, when you are able to give an arc to your characters, a 3 dimensional presence in the plot without even saying much or trying hard. This made my day.. Fucking Amazing !!

It's not really a trend. It's animals rights movement. I hate it when people see it as if it's a joke. It's based off of ahimsa done in factory farms n meat Industry. We are just against cruelty against inhumane treatment of animals. That's the point. Veganism is never a trend, fancy foods may be but most of us eat dal roti sabji chawal just without any animal products.

It was really touching and making us realise how important life is and how we are saved and leading a life that we should be thanking to the lord everyday and stay grateful , this concept of being late in this story reminded me of the incident happened with me when I was working as a kitchen operations trainee in one of the hotel chains in the continental section and I was responsible for the morning shift to be taken care starting from brkfst buffet and live counter, due to less staffs we did extra hrs like extending upto 14-15 hrs upto 17 hrs , the day before the incident
I was pissed off with the head of my section due to a bad conversation also I did overtime with extra cores , i was exhausted with the day and wanted to have a next day off but I was not allowed to take one as this would result to overtime shift for my innocent colleague, also the same month I started to become little late to shifts instead of 7am i would report by 7.30 max before 8am as the schedule was killing me and everyday I would motivate myself to be on time. Fortunately, after that bad and tiring day, i had an awful next morning and I had no energy to go for my shift and I decided to go very late till I could stand proper on my feet also i was scared to inform my dept. head for latecoming as he would yell and I had no intention to spoil my not so well morning, so i prayed to God and went late very late that is between 10am- 10.30am for the shift without any prior information to my department. The corridor towards the main kitchen was very silent like not so usual day and I was scared to face all the yellings and preparing myself to get screwed. The moment I entered kitchen , left me in shock and numb when I witnessed the after incident scene there , it was a fire blast occurred at 8.20 am -8.30am which was the usual time for me being on the stove ranges for buffet refillings and the blast happened right infront of my section stove range which was Indian section and two chefs were on the range that time and they were half burnt yet somehow they managed to escape alive and safe along with the flames threat to the whole kitchen area , FNB staffs to the guests in the restaurant , as I was spotted by my section head and exceutive chef they thanked me for not being present at the time of the stove blast and later thanked me for coming late or else I could have been one of the victim in the fire.
In no time i realised how lord saved me from the mishap as I could have been the immediate victim. Thank lord for the saving everyone and the two chefs who are very kind, caring, full of positive energy, good souls and father like figure for all of us in the kitchen. Also it taught me that it's ok to be stubborn sometimes and look after your own self and your own well being and a little selfish. The next day the head chef apologised for his behaviour that had upset me.
It took lot of time for me to process the whole thing and i spent the day and everyday after that thanking lord for all small to big miracles which we skip to realise and towards being grateful that we are alive to all the days.
