- In Ethiopia the civil war rages on. It's a conflict that has been taking place behind closed doors for more than a year and with almost no news or footage. In the north-east of the country, the separatists attacked the neighbouring Afar region to break through a blockade imposed by the federal government. ARTE journalists were on the ground when Tigrayan forces took the city of Abala; under attack, Afar fighters and civilians took refuge in the mountains.

An interesting question. My guess would be since it's largely seen as an internal problem in Ethiopia, also fighting slowed down and as the front lines stabilized it's become more of an irregular war. A lot of western governments condemned the war and media covered it more during the periods of intense fighting. It's fairly limited what other countries can do unless they want to directly intervene, Russia or China would probably veto any UN Security Council resolution to send peacekeepers as well.
Cause russia ukraine war is a foreign invasion. While ethiopian civil war is started by conflict of two political parties. Also Ukraine government doesnt block access of journalists to the war. Because they know they have the cause that people can stand for. While Ethiopian government is blocking all access to every press trying to only show only their side of the story failing to convince the international community to stand with them

What a skewed translation?! At 00:30, the guy actually said "Woyane has been our enemy". However, you translated it as "The Tigryans have been our enemy". Woyane refers to a terrorist group TPLF which is the enemy Not the entire Tigryan people!

The Ukrainians are defending their country while the people of Afar and Amhara, the people of Ethiopia are aggressors in the west's eye because the invading Tigre(Junta) Militants are proxies for the Western world. We will eventually starve them out until they stop invading our land and stop being a proxy for the west.

Most of these people were fighters though as per their own statements. The road from Afar to Tigray has been blocked by the Afaris so that aid and food cant enter. Of course fighters standing in the way will get attacked. They are escaping because of losses.

Afar had its own conflict going on and you guys invaded the region under a false pretense, dragging them into a conflict they were for the most part not participating in. Sawne is Afar land historically and its people are Afar and Muslim. TPLF authority prohibited the manifestation of our religious identity in the area and Afar took it back during the war. This was the extent of Afar region's involvement in the war. It had its own conflict along the dji-addis highway with Somalis to worry about.
As for aid blockage, it began when TDF retook Mekelle from the government. The neighboring Afar areas that were invaded were already suffering from humanitarian crisis of electricity shortage and lack of resources due to this war between the government and TDF. These were the people the group you cheerlead for killed, shelled and bombed, like the cowards they are, with heavy weapons. Invading Afar was in other words strategic move and not for any humanitarian purpose. Afar has been in conflict with TPLF for a long period, and our interests only aligned against Derg, which was fought by Afar more than anyone else. You did not give Afar land, we had independent sultanates.
This is the narrative and history you people will never learn from TPLF's selective curriculum of lies.
Only humans can bring peace.

The federal government blamed fano for the casualties and they claim Minjar is in the Oromo region lmao. Look at how many Amharas are barbarically killed throughout Benishangul and the Oromo region. Abiy has done nothing in his years of holding power when he had plenty of time to stop these massacres. There are leaked audio recordings of Shimeles Abdisa talking about how they have made Benishangul over 33% Oromo and how they won't stop until all Amharas are slaughtered. This is the Oromo regional leader saying this and you can hear a crowd clapping after he says this. It's time to accept that Abiy is responsible. He doesn't have to come out publicly to announce how he wants to cleanse Amharas. Just pay attention to his actions or lack of action.

If the Oromos want out of Ethiopia, there is no Ethiopia at that point. But I am not convinced. I believe the vast majority of Oromos are proud Ethiopians, the problem is the extremist Oromos are rising and gaining influence thanks to TPLF.

They don't hold their own accountable, when Amharas are massacred they even claim the victims are Oromo and the perpetrators are Fano and we have also seen absolutely zero effort from their moderates to hold OLA, OLF, and shene responsible. I genuinely don't understand this wishful thinking. How far has this wishful thinking brought Amharas? Denying Abiy is responsible has just thrown Amharas deeper into a pool of blood. It's time to try something new because obviously blindly supporting the government hasn't been working for years now.
The reality is that the essence of Ethiopia has always existed eithin Amharas. They are the founders of the nation. If Oromos were to seperate then let them. Separatist ideology has been spreading throughout Amharas like wildfire and if both groups decide to seperate then great. There is no reason for Amharas to stay in Ethiopia anymore. They just need to gain power, unite, take back the lands that was stolen from them throughout the TPLF era and then move on. Ethiopia as a nation can't exist moving forward. Too much Amhara scapegoating has happened in the previous years and perpetrators of heinous crimes refuse to own up to their crimes. Amharas cant continue to forgive and turn the other cheek.
Emotions need to be thrown to the side and the facts/uncomfortable questions need to be addressed or you will watch Ethiopia collapse anyways. Amharas just shouldn't sit back and allow Oromos to do as they please. That's why Oromos have have the audacity to commit these crimes in broad daylight. It's because Amharas have been pushed into a corner where they are guilted into not defending themselves. May this passive mentality be destroyed.

The thing is Ethiopia is the place where the whole Africa, its political leaders come together to deliberate of the common destiny and it hosts the headquarter of a continental Institution called African Union. An Institution that has a permanent structure dedicated to peace and security.
With all these, Ethiopia should be a sanctuary. The meaning of all these should be not only inculcate to people in Ethiopia but something must maintain the sense so Ethiopians may have the feeling of being the keepers of something that is beyond them, the feeling that they are the shore, the horizon and that is a privilege and a duty.
The African Union should have gone to every corner in Ethiopia to inculcate a meaning and make sure that sense is integrated. The political leaders should have been very attentive in order to detect the signs with the objective intent to making Ethiopia where they gather to deliberate of the common destiny, a sanctuary

Then the infrastructure and standard of living must be increased. You have people living in poverty with access to faster more reliable vehicles and weapons but can’t maintain a standard for the average citizen, this is always going to happen.

I was too displaced with my family so many times when we were in Tigray before a year by the Ethiopian govt , Eritrean and some mitilias some of the people I know have been killed for noting by those forces and I miss the good old days before November 2020 God bless Tigray.

Afar had its own conflict going on and you guys invaded the region under a false pretense, dragging them into a conflict they were for the most part not participating in. Sawne is Afar land historically and its people are Afar and Muslim. TPLF authority prohibited the manifestation of our religious identity in the area and Afar took it back during the war. This was the extent of Afar region's involvement in the war. It had its own conflict along the dji-addis highway with Somalis to worry about.
As for aid blockage, it began when TDF retook Mekelle from the government. The neighboring Afar areas that were invaded were already suffering from humanitarian crisis of electricity shortage and lack of resources due to this war between the government and TDF. These were the people the group you cheerlead for killed, shelled and bombed, like the cowards they are, with heavy weapons. Invading Afar was in other words strategic move and not for any humanitarian purpose. Afar has been in conflict with TPLF for a long period, and our interests only aligned against Derg, which was fought by Afar more than anyone else. You did not give Afar land, we had independent sultanates.
This is the narrative and history you people will never learn from TPLF's selective curriculum of lies.
Please also talk about what’s talking place in Tigray, plus you forgot to mention how the people in afar are blocking life saying aid going in to Tigray..please stop cherry picking, if your going to tell a story tell the whole story.

These are not Tigrayans shown in the video. They are all Afar tribe/s. They look like Somalis, due to common genetic ties, whether ancient or more recent. Honestly, all of the major population groups of the horn look alike. Tigrayans, Amharas, Afars, Somalis, Oromos. All are physically one in the same. The differences, culture, religion, dress, language are superficial.
