Nice choices! I’m not a huge fan of the new Skillet, but I loved the new Halsey record… really great experimentation there. It’s a polarizing album because the mainstream audience doesn’t know how to react to taking chances in the studio anymore.
Nice list mate. My top 10 (no particular order): Paula Teles - Desencanto Vola - Friend of a Phantom Imminence - The Black Poppy - Negative Spaces Gaerea - Coma Fleshgod Apocalypse - Opera Michael Schenker - My Years with UFO Moon Healer - Job for a Cowboy Exocrine - Legend Iotunn - Kinship

I still haven’t listened to that Pearl Jam album yet. I did enjoy the Linkin Park album though Best album would be Jerry Cantrell - I want blood for me!
Would definitely recommend the new Pearl Jam… it’s significantly stronger than their last few albums IMO. I Want Blood is killer. Jerry Cantrell never makes a bad album.
Non-Studio Album releases: Ghost - Rite Here Rite Now Delain - Dance with the Devil Xandria - Universal Tales Serj Tankian - Foundations Studio Albums: Green Day - Saviors Art Of Anarchy - Let There Be Anarchy Marty Friedman - Drama Marilyn Manson - One Assassination Under God - Chapter 1 Seether - The Surface Seems So Far Linkin Park - From Zero
Great touch adding the non studio albums… Rite Here Rite Now might end up being one of my favorite live albums of all time. Awesome studio picks! I’ll have to check out the new Art of Anarchy record.

I think Slayer should do a big tour next year with Pantera with lots of opening bands like their farewell tour with Exodus Testament Morbid Saint or Overkill Anthrax Testament or something else
I’d love to see that. Kerry King just said recently that Slayer have no plans on touring together, but after the reunion shows I don’t believe him… money talks.
I hope you’re right. I never got to see Slayer… would love to get the chance. I’d say it’s more likely they keep doing one-off dates from time to time.

#9 \m/ 😎 You know I could have put Green Day on my list too, one of the last I cut off... but I already had Linkin Park so I got bands I'm not a fan of covered already lol Everything on Dark Matter is mvp, imo... the drumming is great but I think the guitar work is strong and Eddie Vedder sounds great!
I know you’d have Bon Jovi at #1… I think this was the best album he could have made at this point. I’m not a big fan of JBJ and even I enjoyed it. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy the Green Day album… their best in a long time.
@TheCDGuyJZ I agree, even though I liked This House Is Not For Sale, I'd say Forever is their best since 2007. Yeah I really don't like Green Day either but that album had some catchy songs. I think the last time Green Day had a song I liked was on 21st Century Breakdown
I know you’re not the biggest fan of the new Linkin Park… hope it grows on you. It’s definitely a bit of an adjustment to listen to Linkin Park without Chester.

There’s a lot here that I need to check out. Nice to see some love for the Scott Stapp record… one of the most overhated guys in Rock. A lot of people have had The Warning on their year end lists…I’ll have to give that album a relisten for sure!

Yeah Pearl Jam shows great craft one this one,but to my ears the production sucks...too much compression produce fake dynamics...you gotta let the whole thing breath a little bit...aaagh !
I guess that was the “big sound” I was talking about… there are people far more knowledgeable about production than me. Do you think the material sounds better live compared to the studio version?
@@TheCDGuyJZ oh yeah absolutely! it sounds more natural ,this producer choses that ''in your face'' sound with production tricks (mainly on drums) and panning (the way you place instruments in the stereo spectrum)...gone are the subtleties...it even sounds ''distorted'' to my ears,awful...this guy made the last Rolling stones and Iggy pop albums...in others words he makes sound young and exciting old bands...it works but I just don't like his vision of production....compare with Brendan O'Brien production on the 2nd PJ album, here we can clearly hear all the instruments,it breathes...and it doesn't lack punch it's the group performance itself that produces it not artificial studio tricks...Rick Rubin do the same and to me this is the correct way to record a rock band that can play👋
I’ll have to keep these things in mind when listening to the record again. Perhaps it’s time to work with Brendan O’Brien again in the future? I thought the stuff sounded great live too… awesome tour!
@@TheCDGuyJZ O'brien did something disturbingly similar with Ten Redux. Drums sound awful. Way too much compression. I understand that the band wanted to hear a mix that wasn't so drenched in reverb, but Brendan's mix sounds unlistenable to my ears.
