I'm curious how the DarkStar Walmart boards skate. They said the reason they sell them at walmart is for the unfortunate kids who's parents don't know any better.

I had to start with a Walmart board because my dad was unsure if I would actually stick with it . He told me if I learned a kickflip he would buy me a professional board, took me a year but I did it and he took me to get my brand new board . Get your kid a board from a skate shop . If they don't stick with it give the board to a kid who wants it 🤙👊

Wow, the wm "Professional" board resists doing tricks and is just as good as a $15 dollar complete, yet it is $70.
It must be close to impossible for a beginner to learn tricks with, as even you struggled with it.

I hope you read comments on multi week old videos...
I failed to learn to ollie after around 60 hours of practice over the course of three weeks. Thus, I gave up learning to do any tricks when I was around 16 years old.
Now I just longboard for travel occasionally.
Personally, the skating is actually the part I come to your videos for the least: I like learning about your business, seeing your grind, experiencing your life with you.
You are in all honesty the only vlogger I have ever remotely cared to follow, and in your youtube videos I would rather see your struggle to get good content rather than the good content you put on instagram.
Seeing everything you go through in order to maintain your sponsorships on top of all your passion projects and home life has been enjoyable to witness, and an inspiration.
You sure as hell aren't inspiring me to get back on a board, unlike so many of the people I've seen in your comments, but by Ra you're inspiring me like crazy to reinvent some of the ventures I've been working on in order to live a bit more carefree in life.
I really don't know how you find such inspiration. My guess is all the great culture and people you manage to surround yourself with, because that seems to be the one thing drastically missing from my life.
I want to meet you some day and we will make cool art together.

i got a gently used, but probably several years old, world industries complete and was blown away at the quality. the trucks seemed like they would be good but the bushings disintegrated from dry-rot as soon as i tried to ride it, so i put some old grindkings on it. they were world industries trucks with the devil face in the baseplate, the hangar seems kinda beefy though. had 52 mm soft wheels on it that i actually liked, but bearings were kinda shit. i'm still riding the board months later. i'm 6'3 240, i've almost noseslid through a ply and it still skates nice. and it's only 7.4-7.5 wide, i can't believe it hasn't broken.

    • @ReeWebster

Your leading knee directs the board. That’s how you keep it straight.
When u pop, let the board jump vertically in the air first before you tweak and drag and the front foot.
The Tweak and drag -> up and forward (forward will feel like down at first)
Once uve got that then it’s all about the height of ur back foot, that’s how high the Ollie will go.

Bought a anime deck at zumiez for the first time and they built it for me, struggling to learn how to ollie. I have a 8.00 deck. You guys recommend me skate trainers?

Forget about all previous experience’s when reviewing these types of things, open your mind, and just maybe “warm up first”

Used to skate for punisher a year or two ago their “pro” boards are only in a weird shape and I rode for them for close to a year

But i mean if you are paying 70 bucks for a complete, just save your trucks and then get a 60$ shop deck

A good idea for a video would be upgrading the components of the Walmart board until it states like a “pro” board

Searched this up after eating a bunch of snow when I realized the cement was dry I ran out to test my first skate board after years of long boarding and the first crack in the sidewalk stopped my board in its tracks… it’s almost like the board was solely designed for learning to Ollie while not moving
