G'day Bill, I'm a bit late watching this video, first Supercars race weekend of the season. Great day for filming the Historic Port area of Echuca. Very strange to see it with so few tourists, obviously because of the floods. Spent many memorable moments at Echuca, was the Go to holiday destination when the kids were young. I haven't been there for ages. Great to see so many Paddle Steamers on the go at the one time. It's a beautiful area, I'll have to see if I can drive up there for a look see. Thanks again for taking me back in time, and jogging the memory bank. Hope you can get the drone up soon. Take care Bill. Smokey
Hi Smokey,it was unusual to have no people, I remember coming here as kids and was always busy,Always fun and educational, the artist is amazing with the mural and other pictures ,I'll have to try and get the miniseries again.One day I'll try to get to Sovereign Hill.Things are very close to find in Victoria .well take care Smokey, Bill.
Hi Annette,even with the tourism down at the time, there was a lot of activity on the river,I think they bought many boats to Echuca to keep them safe.Abig effort with the leve bank.
Well thank you Bill. That was most pleasant and enjoyable. I liked seeing the boats, the wharves, the sand bags and the alien 🙂 Keep eating meat with plenty of fat and ensure you don't take in any seed oils, sugars, carbs nor processed foods. :-)
That would be a great trail,when I was there many free camps on the river were closed ,but hopefully will open again soon,a good place to be on the Murray River, thanks Bill.
You have well placed cousins in some of the nicest places! :) Looks like a calm, peaceful environment without the tourists there. Would love to visit Echuca!
Hi Kris,it was ideal to film the street without people but of course tourists should be there as it has always been very popular. My cousins are in nice places aren't they ! Sandra Echuca and Helen in Tasmania are sisters and they are lovely people.Thanks Bill.
Great opening scenes with those boats. What a great historical area there , well worth a visit. Vline runs a velocity rail car set up to there from Melbourne daily. The flood must have been quite large , but the river systems badly needed a flush out.
Hi Fred,it's a step back in time and free worth a donation, I did see the Overland train parked back from the station.I still find it incredible that they could bring in so much dirt to make the bank,it was good to have so many paddleboats together.Those logs in the water must be a concern.Until next week take care Fred.
