- 9 months of very hard and complex work in one very watchable video.

This RBS is made from copper wire and contains 1/2 inch steel balls. The balls weave their way down various tracks via switches, spirals and fast bumpy corners.
Full details of the build is covered in multiple individual videos that you can in this TH-cam channel. There is also a playlist from 1-28 of these.
The most common question I get asked is the soldering iron I use. I use a resistance solder iron. Click this link for more details.....

26:57 Looks like one of the three balls jumped from the wavy track to the downhill. It’s amazing how seamless it was, too. You’re lucky to have caught it on camera!
Yes it did. Very well spotted. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
🤩
@@Wintergatan_2 Why was I not surprised to see you commenting on this video? 🙂
I think it jumped right where that spacer was! Great catch!
dangit i caught that too and wanted to comment it but obviously
i am way to late to the show
Good to see engineering and original thought hasn’t died in England .we used to be world leaders y’know well done sir
Why, Thanks! I'm trying.
Absolutely the most impressive build. I have worked with copper tubing my entire working life as a refrigeration tech. and have built a few little things but this was over the top. Well Done!
Thanks so much. 🙂🙂
I've got no idea why the algorithm decided to show me your videos today, given that I watch things adjacent to this all the time and watch a ridiculous amount of maker art project videos.
Just wanted to say, I'm about four videos into your backlog and I really enjoy your work. The sculptures, certainly, but your narration, honesty about the difficulties of the project, the cinematography, editing and music are all top notch.
I'm looking forward to the rest of your back-catalog and your future work!
Hi Ben, thanks so much for the appreciation and comments. It’s exactly people like you that I make these videos for. Hope you enjoy the rest of my work. Ian 👋🙏👍⭐️
Mesmerisingly beautiful to watch. The craftsmanship is impecable
Thanks so much.
Your passion for this work shows from beginning to end.
Thanks Markus.
Organized Chaos… such a beauty.
Thanks.
This was so fun to watch. Thanks for sharing your build process with us.
Thanks Brian.
Hmm, I see someone else had a “Spacewarp” or two as a kid! Awesome!
Getting early 90s pinball vibes. ❤
Yes. Thanks.
At one point the Discovery Channel had a similar mechanism in their lobby - about 8 feet tall. When taking my grandkids to meet their Dad, I’d arrive early just to watch this marvel. Thank you for bringing back a lovely memory.
You’re very welcome. That sounds great. 👍
I am glad you are doing this. When I was a child, 50 years ago, there was a man who made these and displayed them at the local fair. He had many of them, I believe smaller but more compact and still just as intricate. I was always fascinated by them. I believe they are now all at a museum in his home town of Belleville Kansas, USA.
Thanks for sharing! Very cool.
Very cool and beautiful peace. Great job.
Thanks so much.
Absolutely mesmerising. Beautiful to watch. Well done.
Thank you! Cheers!
This is incredible. Thank you for sharing your talent and your thoughts.
Thanks Hyah. Appreciate the lovely comment. 😊
I became fascinated with this art after watching the movie Fracture with Anthony Hopkins. It is absolutely amazing to watch you build this. Thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Totaly Amaziing , I have loved Kenetic sculptures like there since I was a kid, ,You have inspired me to have a go a some thing a lot simpler .
Go for it! And thanks for the comment. 👍👍
Only few persons were gifted of such kind of talent.. your work is really amazing!!... From the Philippines
Hi to the Philippines, Thanks for your amazing comment! Glad you enjoyed it.
unedited video needs to be at least 5 minutes long there. i was really looking forward to seeing that and it was far too short. absolutely brilliant otherwise.
Thanks! ☺️
Exactly. The number one misunderstanding of youtube video maker is that they think that by adding random music music from the beginning to the end, that would enhance their videos and gather more views. But they would be surprised to learn that it's the opposite. When the content of the video is great, the background music all it does is drowning the narrative, the little undistinguishable sounds of workmanship, and finally, the little clink and clank of the balls rolling and the motor spinning. The real sound makes it real. The added music makes it annoying.
@@CopperGravity We're one year later, perhaps you can make a new video on how it still works, just by putting a few cameras on it, perhaps 2 different angles side by side, and let it run for 16 minutes. I would watch every second of it...
@lukearts2954 This sculpture was sold and therefore I have lost contact with it. Great idea though.
I self-adjust quite a few videos with the playback speed. I can increase the speed to get through nonsense or what I find nonsensical. And slow it down when I really want to focus on something. And anytime there is background music I turn down my volume or leave the video.
Very nice. Nice cinematography, too.
Thank you very much! 👍👍
Its extremely charming, so glad this poped up in. My flow. Brillantly executed from start to finish
Thanks so much for the positive comment. ❤️
This was so awesome to watch! Both the build and the finished product! Beautifully designed! Excellent quality and just really fun to watch! Thank you for sharing your work!
Thanks Stephen. Your feedback means a lot. ♥️
You made every kid dream come true.and I mean the kid inside all of us (who's wondering what happened to us, looking sooo old).
If only I had the patience. And know how. And creativity.
I feel so close ! Haha
Thx, that's so wonderful
Hey, thanks for the wonderful comment. Really appreciate it. Cheers. 👋
Marvelous. Just think, this will probably long outlive you. It may become a great oddity in a museum somewhere, on some planet.
Great thought. I do have one sculpture (RBS5) in a museum.
I liked working with Brass rod in my day. (About fifty years ago). LOL. Do to health reasons I'm unable to work well enough to do these anymore. It was fun to watch you work. Thanks for the ride.
Thanks for the message.
Wow! What an absolute masterpiece! Brilliant video, too... Cheers from "the Hill"...
Glad you enjoyed it!
As an old boilermaker, I think I have found my new hobby.
Pretty magical. Felt like a kid again
Thank for the great comment 👍🙏
Brilliant, another project for me to tick off in retirement.
Got for it!
You Sir are a Genius. Thank You for Sharing This With Us.
So nice of you
A lot of talent and skill went into making your project, thank you for taking the time and sharing 👍🏴
Thank you! Cheers! ✅✅
What a great project! This build aptly demonstrates the two major types of fabrication: Programmed and Freehand (or "In Situ"). You've got the parts where you are working off the predetermined design plans and the parts where you're going with "We need to form a piece that connects here to there". Both of these skills are incredibly important. Good job! Also, who doesn't love marble runs?!
Also also, I think that's the most French Curves I've ever seen in one place.
Thanks so much for your comment and support. Means a lot and made me laugh! 😆
Nice, nice to look at. Very clever. Well done!
Thank you very much! 👍👍
Great video! I love the design as you go.... Thanks for the close-ups.
Thanks Glenn.
My kid would love it if I could build him something like that. We have the plastic marble runs but the metal balls on tracks would be cool.
The music matched perfect with the marble run.
Thanks.
Easily got my thumbs up! A lot of time, work, patience and it turned out great. Thanks for the video :o)
Thank you! Cheers!
Just beautiful!
Thanks. 🙏
Brillant, I love it to watch the System running.
Thanks Robert.
Stunning work of art. Congratulations
Thank you! Cheers! 👋
Back in the late 1970's after ridding some of the roller coasters at Hershey Park I thought about making a track out of copper or steel, soldering it together and have mini roller coaster version. I never did it, but you did it this way!
Haha. Thanks.
Outstanding
Thanks very much. 👍
Utterly bloody brilliant 😀
Thanks so much. ⭐️
That's a lot of work, but an amazing reward - well done
It really is! Cheers.
Kids love bits of stuff to build custom marble runs. I use pvc pipe, pvc angle and wooden blocks with notches to place the runs on.
Sounds great.
Nice music video....................
Love the funky music worthy of any 70s U.S. cop film
Hehe. Thanks. 👮♂️🚔🚨
I'm impressed - very impressed. In fact, I'm thinking of trying this myself. Don't know what I need yet, but my research starts today. Thank you
Good luck!
Totally enjoyed this. Great narrative also. Absolutely brilliant.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Outstanding! 🫡👍🏻
Thank you! 👍
Bardzo mało komentarzy jak na czteromiesięczny film a nie da się ukryć że pracę którą pan wykonał niejednego by przerosła
Great job
Donde se pueden conpr
Breathtaking! Thank you.❤
Thank you too! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Some things are amazing, others super amazing, and this is ultra mega hiper amazing !
Thanks!
I thoroughly enjoyed watching you build this
Thank You 🙏 🙏🙏
Very very impressive, respect for the builder👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
This is beautiful. Well Done.
Thank you very much!
This is fantastic! You are really talented to make that. I love the 3 ball collection see saw device, it makes it look like the balls are racing each other. Just incredible!
Thank you. I love that element too.
When they exit the collection device, they look like a 3-car rollercoaster!
Excellent video of the process, and the video at the end at 24:21 is lovely to watch!
Thanks. 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈
Awesome job. Love see people create and build.
I appreciate your lovely comment. Thanks. 🙏
Wonder TH-cam, wonderful build. Subscribed. Easy decision.
Thanks You. I appreciate the comment.
와우~만드는 과정이 정말 놀랍네요. 열심히 만드는 모습이 보기 좋습니다.덕분에 좋은 영상 시청했어요.감사합니다.👍^^
Thanks for your comment. :)
When I was a kid, I got to see one of these, someone had built on a pretty large scale. Perhaps it was two meters tall. It was such a wonder, I only ever got to watch it perhaps five minutes at a time but always looked forward to seeing it again. It's remarkable to note, that I've developed so many of the basic sub-skills over time. How marvelous to think of making one of my own.
Hi Jeffrey, thanks for the comment. Hope you enjoy making one. Cheers
You, sir, are an absolute genius. Great job and I look forward to watching your other creations.
Thank you very much! Really appreciate your comment. ✅
Well done, was a pleasure to watch you transform the project into it's final work of art. Loved the outcome...!!!
Thanks Jamie.
Great job
Beautiful and so calming to watch.
Thanks so much. 😀
Trop beau, quel travail !!
Thank you! 🙏
Extremally cool.
Thank you for the comment ⭐️⭐️⭐️
You are an absolute genius.
Well thank you for that! Cheers.
Great job, looks and works great. God bless
Thanks 👍
Excellent rolling ball construction video for those of us willing to learn. I must say you make it look easy
but that's your years of experience. Thanks for sharing your expertise. I'm a retired plumber so I love copper projects.
Thanks 👍
This is an amazing project. After having seen my first marble machine ("knikkerbaan" in Dutch) at the Evoluon I have been wanting to build my own.
That's 50 years ago and thanks to youtube, your channel and some great instructions from Daniel de Bruin I finally started experimenting. Making a few of the elements is not as easy as it looks in your videos, connecting these together in a ways that feels right still seems impossible to me 🤭
This is true art !
Wow. What a nice comment. Good luck with your build.
I am impressed. Simply.
Thanks! 🙏
That is amazing. I love making stuff like that. Your process kept getting better. I think I will try it!
Please do! Enjoy. Cheers. 👋
Love the new lift!
Thanks.
Really relax to watch and impressive build
Thank you very much!
Nice work! I'm in the process of designing and building my first marble run, and I'm going to use an archimedes screw for the lift system, similar to your helical spiral but a little different. Videos like this keep me inspired when I feel discouraged.
Thanks Man. 🙏
Thank you for sharing, very impressive, agree with the other commenter it would have been great to see 5 to 10 minutes of it running at the end!
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow! What a great build!! Fantastic video thumbs up.
Glad you liked it. Cheers. 👋
It was entertaining to watch. Thank you
Thanks for the lovely warm comment. 👍
Amazing build! I imagine you would need mechanical engineering skills to do something like this. Kudos on getting this put together! Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you very much! Yes I'm a mechanical engineer. Cheers
Well done!
Thanks!
Great video and great build! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks. 🙏🙏
Amazing!
Thank you! Cheers!
So very pleasing!
Thanks! ☺️
I am your fan now...hat's off from Sri Lanka
Hi, Thanks for the comment! :)
Absolutely fabulous!
Thank you!!!!! 🙏
Wonderful, that was fun to watch. Refreshing break.
Thanks Stuart. Glad you enjoyed it. ✅
Awesome creation it’s inspiring
Thanks Neil. Appreciate the comment ⭐️
Nice one...❤
Thanks 🤗
Super cool project and fun video. The only thing missing is some flags popping up as the balls roll by 😆
Check out Didier who makes the most amazing bouncing sculptures…

geniale Arbeit. Meine Hochachtung!!!
Thanks so much.
I think you could copperplate the chain so it takes the solder better. Nice project 😉👍
Good idea!
very impressive build happy to share it
Thanks for sharing. Cheers. ✅
Awesome work. Really enjoyed the video
Glad you enjoyed it
Absolutely beautiful ..Job well done
Thank you! 😊 I appreciate the comment.
A toy seriously built. 👏👏👏 I can feel the balls are very happy on their playground 😄😄
Brilliant video 👏 excellent editing and narration....and obviously the marble run. Love these things....I made one as a teenager 40 plus years ago using wooden dowel.... worked a treat the negative things with mine were....all the runs were straight and ended in a 90deg turn and where I'd tried to get the marble to take as long as possible to the bottom if the contraption was put on a surface that wasn't 100% level the marbles will stall 🤦
I do plan to make a solar powered one at some point that'll start once the sun comes up....... probably wake the house hold up in the summer months 🤷🏽♂️
Sounds awesome. Thanks for the comment.
I actually build my own 43 -module-machine; a monstruous project with a luxuous wooden structure and each module artistically shows an human behaviour! I have a lot of issues with precision of cutting and soldering. Be sure that time of building is much longer than the video!
Sounds good. Thanks for your comment.
Nice toy, good 2 calm down... well done...
Thank you Peter 🤗
Astounding
