I've had that same evernew set for about 5 years now and it's great. I used a snow peak gigapower stove with it and it all fit well. Now I just use the brs micro stove. Works perfect for just boiling water. And the stove is only 15 bucks. Thanks for the video
Just bought this set based on your review. Don't see much need for the cup though when you can use the pot for the same purpose but it is an option for when the wife and I hike together. All I use the pot for is to heat water so it should always stay clean for use as my coffee in the mornings, which is a must haha.
Great video 👍 do you know what the internal height is with the lid on? I know the pot is 120mm but it looks like the lid being raised will creat a bit more room?
Turn the fuel canister upside down, it will buy you some space with the concave bottom. If you get a jet boil tripod stand it will fit around the threaded top in the void at the bottom too. I am able to fit a Pocket Rocket Deluxe (which is fatter due to the larger burner) in the same set with room to spare but in fairness I don’t have a V1 PR to test. Hope that helps. Cheers!
Except for the bigger pots out there, the MSR Pocket Rocket doesn't nest into _anything!_ I know, I have one myself. Great stove, but just too big for any titanium cook kit set-up designed for one person. (We're talking 550ml to 750ml in size cook pots.) I keep a tiny BRS stove in my Solo cook kits. As far as the GSI cook kit, replacing the plastic spoon with a folding titanium version is another idea. Full-length spoon, compact storage. Toaks makes a 375ml titanium cup with folding handles that looks like it would fit inside. Not sure if you'd have to leave the plastic bowl out of the pot to get the cup to fit. But small price to pay to make the GSI far more useful. I'd normally tell folks to get a good titanium cook kit to start out. But adding a titanium spoon and that Toaks titanium cup to the GSI set-up is a good way to save money if someone already has the GSI, and doesn't want to buy a whole new cook kit.
I'm just wondering...your problem was that you wanted to heat up water immediately after eating out of your pot, so all you had to do was add a smaller titanium pot or mug that could nest in your GSI pot, replacing the plastic bowl. While the Evernew pot is lighter, the GSI Soloist pot is certainly easier to clean because of the teflon coating, which also allows you to do more than just boil water. Just a thought. Love your videos. Cheers.
Hey JJ! Great question! The Teflon Coating WAS the main reason I wanted a separate cup for my coffee... I found that when I cooked in the GSI, although it was easy to clean, the Teflon Coating absorbed the food I was cooking and made my coffee taste funny... I would wipe the GSI Pot over and over again but it would still have a greasy film I could not get rid of until I went home and thoroughly washed it with detergent and water. Also, the upgrade to all titanium was a weight savings too! Hope that helps answer your question! Thanks for watching!!!
Thanks Solomon... that's a great question... I believe it would due to the fact that the arms fold in to the body... the original Pocket Rocket juuuuuust barely did not fit... the newer one is smaller.
Hey Jeremy! Funny because it's one of the only original pieces of gear I've kept and never had a desire to replace! Still love it and works beautifully!!! The ability to cook my food and sip on some coffee is something I wouldn't trade for! 🤣.... quality wise... it still works great... no wear and tear issues... simple, lightweight and awesome!!!
@@RESTLESSOUTDOORS This is fantastic to hear because I ordered this last night! Another reviewer mentioned that it fits his Soto WindMaster (the stove I decided on), fuel and more. Just like you I want to be able to sip coffee and enjoy my meal. Feeling even better about my purchase. By the way, I love your videos and your sense of humor. You are doing great work.
@@AngelVillaG Sorry, just saw the notification bell. The Soto Windmaster (with 4Flex or TriFlex) does fit in this pot along with a 110g fuel canister with room for additional accessories.
You sacrificed a little space to gain a lot of weigh savings. That's a nice set and you will enjoy the light weight. You really can not go wrong with Titanium when heating water for drinks and a meal. Using the gas stove you will have hot water in no time. Plus the Titanium will last for ever and give a lot of service. Mine is a lot slower , like me. Especially since I like to use alcohol burners or wood when going as light as possible. For me the Evernew Appalachian set has it all in one nice small 5.7 oz bundle. It's a cook set using either alcohol or wood if the alcohol runs out. Before you ask ....Yes , it created a lot of weight savings in the pack and even more in my wallet. LOL
Really considered purchasing the Evernew Stove myself... love the idea that it's dual function with alcohol or wood and the fact that I would never have to purchase a gas canister. And the weight... awesome!
What ever? My ultralight cookset uses the lid off the Stanley Cook Set (Toss the 2 plastic cups ) on top off one of the stainless cups that you buy separately ( will nest with original Stanley pot ). Small fuel canister will fit inside with room for micro burner, lighter etc. Plus a plastic spoon from wholefoods there you go.
Thanks Charles Le! Bought a new spoon... problem is the coating they put in the GSI pots... almost like a non-stick... shit smears instead of wiping clean... have had no issues with the Evernew!

Heck! I liked the black exploitive, love scene 70's movie music.
Great choice of tunage.
It's a Restless Outdoors Classic!
Hello,
Can anyone confirm whether a 110g gas container and the Soto Windmaster stove can be stored inside the pot?
Thank you!

That is so great! They do have a great selection of sizes to chose from but I think your wife will appreciate her own mug for java!

Are those fuel canisters regular fuel canisters, 250g ?
Thank you, what was titanium cook set worth? Thanks, fred hammer
where did you get that spoon?

Which also gives you cancer..
will a nalgene nest inside the evernew?
Very nice set. I like. Especially with the nesting canisters.
Totally! Cannot wait to try the pot on my next overnight!
Do you think you could fit the msr pocket rocket 2 inside as it smaller than the original
Thanks Solomon... that's a great question... I believe it would due to the fact that the arms fold in to the body... the original Pocket Rocket juuuuuust barely did not fit... the newer one is smaller.
How has the Evernew Stacking Set worked out for you these past couple years?

Thanks so much man! You made an awesome choice!!!
@@jeremywenrich Hi, you can confirm that the Soto Windmaster and canister 110g can put inside without problem?
I think buy this stove soon!
Thanks.

This might be old news but you can take apart the pocket rocket so it will nest within the evernew.
LOL! Yup... figured that out about a month after owning this set... made a video to boot! 😂 Thanks for watching!!!

Thanks Viberunner! True that! I typically drink a ton of coffee on trips anyways so that takes away that fuel weight lickity split!
Turn the canister upside down and it buys you enough space to nest the pocket rocket.... boom.

Sweet Dirk!!!👊
Just buy a new spoon and make your hot drink before you cook your noodles.. Problem solved without having to buy s whole new cookset and stove.

Okay am I the only one that thought I stumbled across some p*** not going to lie this was cooking p*** for me and I liked it
🤣.... I know... the song choice is VERY suggestive...
If you like half your food hot and the other half cold/raw/uncooked, buy titanium.
Thanks Bob! And if your like me, buy titanium for boiling water for rehydrated meals and coffee! Can't beat the weight savings!
Using the simmer setting your stove and stirring your food once in a while must be hard concept for some grasp it seems....
