Sam! The different lanes for the trains at the stations are called "platforms"! Also, it's not a downside to have only two platforms, it's very common and you hardly ever actually need quad track systems, especially for trains.
The trains in CSL have short headways by default, so traffic can actually build up pretty quickly, so having the bypass makes it run much more smoothly if you have any express lines
@@willfedder864 Well in that case all you need to do is lower that budget. But yeah most train lines would probably be built to handle just one line or a few lines stopping at the same stations for stretchesd anyway
On some maps there isn't enough room to fully separate passenger and cargo train lines, so bypass stations are extremely useful to keep cargo traffic flowing through passenger stations.
Also, intercity trains. Should you make the mistake of enabling them on more than 2 stations max, these can (and will) spawn like crazy. And if you don't, bypass stations ensure they don't get stuck behind local traffic at the stations that don't accept them.
In Germany, for instance, the vast majority of rural, suburban, and even urban stations have bypass tracks for express and cargo trains.

7:00 well...with 12 railway tracks it is supposed to be a central station! its about the same size as the 12 track terminus station from the Mass transit DLC
Just installed these on console (yes I know lol) gotta say though the trains and metro pack is worth buying both on principle alone. One of the best things the developers have brought to us on console.
all of these are so much better than that 1 train station you get lol

The terminus with elevated subway lines looks a lot like The Hague central station in the Netherlands; same setup, in any case, and with a glass roof. Ours only has a friggin' huge office tower thrust in front of it for some reason.

This update is so good, but I wish they added more Roads for the game, since the beginning it have the same Roads, it could be so important, since they will probably get content creators to make their new DLCs, so all the team will focus on something big, and better.. 👀

The fact that the content creator (BadPeanut) abruptly took down some of their assets from the workshop and broke all my saved games makes me really hesitant to use their contents ever again... And conveniently they also disabled comments for all their workshop items to make sure no one can ever complain. Genius :)
When assets are not found they usually just disappear from the map, maybe you had a mod incompatibility.
This DLC is part of the game now, anyway, so you don't have to worry about them getting removed.
@@JoshGerhards That's what I initially expected, but it didn't turn out to be the case :( and yeah, this pack probably won't get removed, it was just my personal opinion to the creator I guess

I hate that the game does not come with quad tracks outside the stations. IMO quad tracks only work if they’re persistent. If you’re a bypass train and you get to a station when a train is leaving, you have to wait for it to merge back onto your track. I think there’s a mod, but it should be native.
Are there mods that can change the train tracks of these things? They look good enough to be used in a modded city.

I like to use the Bypass station for the main line.
I only dislike they decided to make metro platforms as long as train platforms.
Does open top subway station exist in real life? What if it rains?
I like the new stuffs in this pack, but I dislike the Creator's altitude. Once got toxic answer from him when I tried to point out the issues in his mods. I feel upset since that day and I'm not sure that I should buy this pack or not.

A lot of mod creators are that way, sadly. It seems a lot of them feel some kind of superiority because of the work they do.
Luckily, they do seem to be a minority. Most mod creators I see are way more helpful and especially way more patient with users than I could ever be.

I Have the Problem with the metro Stations that i often can not place them on the street because it says space occupied
Awesome video! Just got it as well! Sorry to bother but I have a question about buses though, I downloaded the newest roads mod to get the “bus only lanes” and I place them but everyone is using it as a normal road - I wonder if I’m missing something else? Sorry I’m pretty much new to the game.
Well, the only fix i found for that is the vehicule restriction ( banning everything but busses ) using TM:PE ( a very popular mod For Cities Skylines ). Hope to see this fixed someday !

The new Stations are so nice! I wish they would be compatible with the Metro Overhaul Mod though...Then we could use all the new stations and also keep using converted train stations as metro stations.

We plan on updating MOM yes, though everyone on the team doesn't have a lot of free time at the moment unfortunately, but it will happen eventually

Somehow in Cities:skylines subway stations make noise above ground…the base game one is just a staircase down to the train, what makes noise exactly???
CSL has some weird features that I could never understand although I've been playing this for about half a decade. Bet the developers never actually lived around a place with compact transit system... Monorails aren't that noisy, they are hardly noticeable, and that's same with the subway stations, if you don't count the sound made by the people going through, and if you do count, it shouldn't be counted as 50, it should be like 20 or 25.
I went for the bridges pack, as I'm far away front starting my maincity and the station's looked shit jig for a rural thing :(
Where can I find the paths he used at the metro hub? Are those the ones from Parkside dlc or is it mods?
To me it looks like a modded road, I'm not sure which one it is though.

All the stations are a bit "Meh", like they looks good but I don't feel like they should be a DLC. For me this DLC is just the sign that paradox is milking the game ...
I will wait for a proper DLC or Cities Skylines 2.
It's a content creator pack, not DLC.
This is another reason for me to be frustrated with this bloody game. I know simcity 5 (?) failed and this game is nice and sandboxy but it is infuriating how they give us these half@ssed hubs and give us rollercoaster tycoon vibes when it comes to pathfinding in their game. Why do I need mods to make this game ok and why after all this time cant you connect above the ground with a station above the ground? Why do I need a tutorial for this? I am not smart but come on. And why cant a hub have a metro underground? Why so little hubs, why with a trainstation you can choose between a ginormous intimidating one with 12 platforms and a one rail baby trainstation and nothing inbetween? No, let the workshop fix it. Uuuugh. Also everything is TOO BIG. The buildings, the bloody ugly containers...

I wish someone would do an in depth review of how these things work meaning, configuring the different types of trackage that can be at the station pass through. double ectra. how to select the track configuration. Many hours of trial and error. plenty of error.
Welcome back! I grabbed it yesterday ($5). Nice eye candy, but it'll be a while before I can use any of the stations. . . I haven't gotten to the level where I would need subway lines yet, but hopefully I can finish troubleshooting an FPS issue within the game before the weekend so I can try them out.

I love this nice DLC! The bridges is great but im very sad that you cant change the road types on the bridges or even having some options for road types on the bridges. Only options are the amount of lanes and looks, no options for public transportation using the bridges really, and the one way train bridges is just straight up disappointing.
0:53 It looks like the people don't care about the escalator directions :-) (I guess that would need some new game mechanic which doesn't exist.)
4:01 This empty space is there so you can build your own bypass tracks (likely needs some anarchy mod).
11:50 The color scheme of many of the people here seems to indicate there is some sports game going on nearby?
12:33 I guess this is set up just for demonstration purposes, but if not, you should check the curves on your subway tunnels - they need to be a bit larger now since Sunset Harbor so the trains don't block up each other.
