- The Lego vehicle is lowered to the floor from an open ventilation window. After that it is operated remotely using a PS4 controller and a tablet that shows live video from an onboard camera, with night vision. The vehicle is able to lift a smaller vehicle onto a table to pick up a key ring. Enjoy!

Or alternatively, a bunch of small units that enter and can then assemble themselves into a larger vehicle, -steal- retrieve an item, store it in one of the units, return, disassemble, and then be recovered

I love how this is inspired by that old Danish movie. That scene was way ahead of its time, Mindstorms wouldn't even be invented until almost another 20 years after the movie was made.

Lego robots are very versatile. It's just that raw mechanical Lego pieces seem pretty difficult to locate (although I haven't really tried very hard, if at all). Imagine being able to build anything you wanted with them and using them to hog a public elevator and just chill going up and down in it with your laptop (which is something I want to do but not necessarily with the Lego)

Very unlikely scenario, that set up was designed specifically for the sequence we saw, the height of the table, the area where the keys were placed, ect.
it's very unlikely that anyone would use legos to do this in the first place. the whole point of the channel is building neat machines with legos; there's no need for practicality
The best part is the detailed instructions on how to build this at the end. Just in case you're in the mood for a new car but only have the cash for Legos.
