Hi William, your 5 year residence period will count as long as you haven't had gaps longer than 6 months during each of the five years. So if you come back to the UK within 6 months from when you left, you should be fine.

Hi, this is what we found on the government's website: 'If you have pre-settled status, you can spend up to 2 years in a row outside the UK without losing your status. You will need to call EU Resolution Centre and ask for a paper form of application.
