- Sewing your own Haversack allows you to build custom gear specifically for your needs. The Haversack is a easy sewing project. I go over all the steps and the process to develop your own gear.

Love how you hold off on the pedal like I do. But the old ladies that have been doing it for years hit that pedal like they doing burnouts in a parking lot. Hahah
11:10 D'oh! That's not an empty cup either. Great video though! I'm getting ready to put one together myself here later today! I'm making mine out of some nice heavy canvas that I bought but going to waterproof after so that the stitching and all are treated. New subscriber! Great job!
FYI.. That 'slapping' sound when the needle goes into the material is often the sound a dull needle makes. Sometimes a dull needle will cut the material rather than penetrating it. Pull your pins just before the needle hits...saves the needle sharpness. A needle will hit a pin and it only takes once to ruin it. Good video. I put a pocket in the flap with Velcro tabs...not deep to the bottom of the flap and located up toward the top third or half way up. That becomes the first thickness in the bag. Inner pocket is about half way up inside on main bag. That gives 3 areas of thickness when filled. Flap, inside pocket and bag bottom. Love these bags! Nice seeing you building your own!

I love it and I love the extra pocket. I might leave a little extra on the flap to sew some kind of small weight onto the end so that it flops over with that weight. I may have reversed your pocket and put it in the front of the Haversack for easier access.

Make sure your strap doesn’t have an unwanted twist in it before attaching to bag. Ask me how I know to do this haha. I’ve “learned” this lesson a couple times.
We could tell them but the best way to learn is screw up and fix it.
Next time, turn the bag wrong side out when you make the side seams. Makes a nice finished edge and hides the seam. Great job!
Don't forget a tie string and one or two buttons to close it.

Just bought a new sewing machine
I love haversacks, however, I cannot get one that works for my size. I am height-challenged and cannot get one that works for me. I love my Swedish haversack, but would want it about 1 inch deeper and about 2 inches wider. I have dreams of sewing one.
