The censor isn't gone completely, it's only removed because my ingame player name is "Dominic."
I suspected people would mistakenly believe I removed it wholesale, hence why in the 13th video I disabled that effect so that the censor would remain regardless of that temporarily, but since I forgot to do that this time... yeah. Apologies for the confusion.
The description saying “I offended God and humanity because my work did not reach the quality it should have” Is so funny to me. Cant wait to do this amazing fight over again!
Its also pretty scary since if he offends the community for some stupid reason we will have the dm dokuro situation all over again

Would be cool if you could somehow lock nameless to the screen and making him crush the adren and rage bars, like the same hands he is using for compresing the star. Would be terrying as hell.

To add to this, it would be cool if ND crushing the star in its 2nd phase would be done the old way - several hands from nowhere surrounding and compressing it. I think it'd convey the feeling of 'this guy is getting serious, he's compressing it more than before'

4:06 I wonder, since the cosmic deathray is so loud it muffles all the other audio including the music, after the attack is finished you should add a ring as if your ears have to adjust. Also maybe fade the music on instead of it abruptly turning back on.

update: yup, Dom confirmed. the audio engine that handles the music reversing and fading is still buggy (there are crackles here and there)

Whoever is wondering why the censor bar isnt there if you havent read the description. It has not been removed. If you have your name as "Dominic" it uses this variant, the same goes for the others like "Moonburn" and so on.
Am I going crazy, or did you make the timing of his slashes match the beat of the song at 3:09
That and having the beat-drop align with the start of the clock attack

I want to agree with some of the commentators' quibbles under the Dev-log past, specifically about removing some of the boss's attacks, namely "lines attacks" at the beginning of the fight and "dimensional slash pattern during the fractal punch attack" in the second phase. In my subjective opinion, their SFX was a delight to the ears. I understand that the tactic of "Sit in a spot and you're good" is quite boring, but I tried to formulate my thoughts on this below.
I think that "lines attacks" was quite dynamic (if you don't use Mounts) and represented an "Iconic" value. This is literally the first serious ND attack, which often killed an unprepared player. Coupled with the superbly executed SFX, it was a brilliant start to the test, such as the first attack of Sans from Undertale (:3).
I liked the idea of developing "fractal punk attack" in this Dev-log, but I still think it's just another version of "sword attack". It is possible to add more "crack attack code" during the attack itself, as demonstrated at the end of the "fractal punch attack".
I apologize once again for my English, because when translating this comment, the translator has already broken 5 times, but I wanted to voice my, once again, subjective opinion.

I love how the 3rd phase attacks are roughly timed with the music for the beginning (and how the music sounds rougher then the og)
I think for the sun into blackhole attack, it would be cool if all 4 of his hands squished it; just to give it that extra power
I find it cool that ND doesn't use all arms to do it - as if it's light work for him to collapse a star into a black hole

another! with more changes.. moving that feather attack to near the start of 'the Test' was a good choice imo. the progression from those to the Dreamcatcher as the introduction to the second phase feels much more natural. I think the second pair of arms (not in use) during the time Nameless compresses the star feel a little 'static'? they don't have any idle motion and just awkwardly sit. it just feels a little weird, unless the robotic-ness is intended ofc. in that same tone, ND just kinda watching you as the Rage & Adrenaline are crushed is ominous.. also enjoy the extra flair added to the hand attack finale, how reality shatters and the binary void reaches out in veiny lengths. very glad to see the cosmic Deathray has its roar back though! speaking of, i like the dimensional depth added to the ring. ND literally blasting you with the unerring power of friendship, love, bliss, and benevolence... in GFB the wrapping text should just be Live Laugh Love, or something else comically cliche. really nice to see all the progress made though!! thanks for the stimuli to fixate over
I will say an attack i miss is the lasers after he breaks your rage and adrenaline, i loved how fast paced and intense it was

Can't wait to play this, boss is always just so fun to fight. You are actually cooking so hard with this it's unreal. Love parts where deity does the screen break type stuff. Super neat.
could just be me but the dream catcher shadows seem a little too dark for the background, idk what u could do to improve visibility on that though
I would like to see ND compressing the star with more hands, like how Sebastian Shaw from X-men: First Class absorbing grenade explosion
More sfx on the feathers!! I feel like they should feel more natural to the fight and that would help :D

I’m a little confused on what the dream catcher is supposed to do, it’s feels out of place and looks like it’s building up to something but nothing happens.

I didnt notice it on my first watch through either but there are black shadows that path towards you that you have to dodge. I agree the black-on-black attack is not very visible at all

As someone that is relatively fresh out of an infernum playthrough wrapped in with WotG, i would like to share my opinion on some of the changes.
I love the new visual effects! especially some of the new build up to the big cosmic laser attack, and some of the timings set up with the music is perfect. However, something that i noticed is that the "line attacks" are missing from the beginning of phase 2, as i can understand why these were removed as they boiled down to "sit in funny chair lol", they really helped tie in that root inspiration from undertale that i was feeling from the whole fight, maybe you could find some way to incorporate a lesser version of it into the second phase? Maybe similar to the cosmic burst attack in phase one.
However this is only my personal opinion and should be taken with a grain of salt, i have loved seeing the progression of this mod show throughout the years, we love you DK!

The vibes and attacks only get cooler and cooler with every rendition, although I do miss the censor box on name's face, but I'm sure someone will figure out how to add it back as a texture pack at some point anyway, Keep up the awesome work!

I'm very curious about how you render that black hole. Do you raytrace within it's influence, or what?
Screen post-processing effect that manipulates the game view UV coordinates to create distortions. I modeled the calculations for such in accordance with real life gravitational lensing, which effectively warps the viewing angle.
What changed? I'm only see the change of background and the punch attack last punch now reworked, also I'm see the glitch effect on dream capture

It would be so awesome if you ever made a Yharim fight. Giving the calamity community some yharim content to devourer on while we wait for the official release
I dont want to sound pushy or begging plus I dont even know if theres a reason you cant (or wont)
1. The amount of effort it'd take to do Yharim justice is beyond my abilities. I'm not necessarily talking about the fight, either. He is the locus of many important events in the story. That story would require many, many instances of worldbuilding. Ruins of his kingdom. Signs of his conquest. Detailed accounts from individuals that lived to see the consequences of his actions. Intricate buildup with the side characters. If one wants to do him right, they must do all of that building.
2. He specifically doesn't really interest me. The mechanics of a talented armored swordsman could be accomplished without usage of Calamity's concepts, regardless.
3. There was a significant negative push-back from Calamity's developers back when I called the Nameless Deity Xeroc. They were not at all OK with me using that name before they had a chance to implement him for themselves. The amount of anger that would be spurned from me daring to do Yharim before they implement him would be incalculable. I'd rather not deal with that fallout.

The change of when the dream catcher attack and the feather attack are used make both attacks much better in my opinion. I also really like how you changed the fist bump attack.
One thing I would ask is how much more is planned for the update? I’m not trying to rush you or anything, it’s just that the Avatar of Emptiness has been on my mind this entire year…

I'm wondering how the clock code is made, is the geometry made out of particles and generated by some math function or some shit?
i think almost all my problems with this fight are fixed (its really good the improvements) except for the slowness of the sword dash attack it feels a little slow, and getting rid of the silence for giga laser, silence is definitely better, i do miss the reticle being purple at the start, but its ok, but why make the reticle 3d? i mean it looks cool but its not a very useful improvement and imo the old one was better, and there is like 1 second of delay from end of charge sound effect to laser being shot, i think that should be removed imo ._.
4:32 also pls get better background then the weird swirly eye thingy but overall the improvements are awesome like much harder dreamcatcher and peacock attack being cooler

I think it would be cool if new version will be on revengeance or lower and old one in death mode because old is a lot harder and fits perfectly to death mode, and new one is more fun one for first experience with ND

Aww the censor is gone, it was my favorite detail, it really added to that eldritch horror part and had perfect synergy with the nameless part of nameless deity.

One of the benefits of Minecraft mods compared to Terraria is that they don't necessarily have tons of mandatory shaders, that could unironically crash some computers...
The VFX in this mod are very well optimised and barely lag. If you can run base Calamity, you can run this.
@@SenGaming-105 well, now this is my personal problem. I can not at all run it, cause the game crashes 9 out of 10 times when i summon Profaned Goddess and when she dies if the explosion is happening on screen...
But Nameless Deity is still heavy in terms of shaders. And they pretty much have to be optimeised. If shaders weren't optimised, they would crash not some, but a lot of computers. It's a large contrast from vanilla terraria, where the amount of shaders is very small.
@@Pixel_Airon Ok. I usually play with Minecraft mods, 80-100. I crash way more often than in Terraria. That's a PC issue for you :(

I understand not at all liking it. And heck, I understand it being too overstimulating for some. That's totally understandable with such... grandiose things like this. I'm keenly aware that my works are not for everyone
But I do think it's kinda unfair to present that in objective terms with a mocking tone
