Good morning brother Jerry, You don't know me but I want to give you a word of encouragement. I grew up in a non-Christian home. My father walked out when I was 5 years old because he loved alcohol more than me. My mom wasn't a Christian so I had no Christian up bringing. I started walking to church on my own at age 14 and got saved at age 16. When I got saved I knew absolutely nothing about the Bible and I had no one to help me. One day I was riding home with a member and he was playing a song called "Carry On." I asked him if I could borrow the tape and he let me. I played the whole tape and fell in love with your music. I quit playing all of the hard core rap I was playing at the time and started listening to Gospel music only. I took all the money I made from work and purchased all your tapes and CDs which I still play today. I want you to know that the Lord discipled me through your music. Fast forward 30 years later....I am now the Pastor of a prominent church in our town. I share all this to let you know, I would not be where I am today if it were not for the ministry of "Harvest." I literallly listened to your music EVERY day with tears in my eyes. I even fully committed myself to ministry through one of your songs "You'll See A Man." Brother NEVER think your ministry is in vain because there was a 14 year old boy in Sumter SC abandoned by his father that was touched by your music. Jerry, I just can't get past what you shared about your kids. It has haunted me for a year! Has anything changed? This seems so extreme. Is there anything you need to ask them to forgive you for? Would they be receptive to a letter? I am sure you have tried that. Sorry if I am prying. This just saddens me for you and for them. Is there anyone who can intercede to them on your behalf.
