norespawns I think a cool settlement would be Sunshine Tidings. An idea I think is really cool that you could pull off would be a ramshackle town split into three areas, maybe with junk fences. One is the neutral zone where gunners, BOS, and pretty much anyone trade. Then another could be a small minutemen outpost that protects the town. The third area could be a farm area with some settlers living there. The center barn could act as a town meeting area for the three independent sections talk to each other. Just a thought, I think it's an awesome idea that only someone like you could pull off, but pull it off and make it look good.

You should re-make Hangman's Alley into a trade hub? Like shops have built up along the wall and the cloth hanging at parts to protect the customers from the rain, maybe make it quite vertical with some walk ways or something?

Back a while back I tried to get into Settlement building and wanted to make Abernathy Farm into a sort of large town. I built maybe 3 buildings; a power building with all of my generators, a living quarters, and a shop. I stopped messing around with settlement building because I wanted to use mods to help me but wanted to wait till I had all of the DLC (I only had the base PS4 game at the time) to start messing around with it. After seeing this I now want to start the town all over again and put a saloon in it.
I have to say this has the davey charm, but it's kinda small. When I built Abernathy I put the house down the hill in the front to create kinda a Main Street with a guard barracks at the end, I then put all my food on top of the houses(occasionally in green houses) it was mainly razor grain and mut fruit on the houses I put melons and tato in the already made farms
Davey, the top of the farm house (where you said you didn't know what to put there) would be a great spot for a Crow's Nest or other type of a spotting tower. Since this is the RP breadbasket for the whole region, a very high tower with a commanding view could see trouble coming from miles away and give them a lot more time to sound the alarm. Build looks great, though. Cheers!

I really like how this can out. I wish I had the patience to do junk walls. I always really want to but get bored quickly. Anyways. I think that there is one flaw RP wise. The windows on the RV that you were going to use as a shed, but turned into a barracks. They should really be boarded up. It's a huge hole in your wall.
I think around the junk wall you could've used some of the guard posts from (thematic and practical?) that turn run down beaten up cars and turn them into guard posts, it would have doubled with the junk wall and as a guard post so you could just have lookouts on each side of the wall as it looked like your settlement was pretty weak defensively (although you did say that there are 6 guards). I think it might have seemed that way to me because you just have them wearing minutemen outfits, maybe equipping them with a few pieces of armour will make the settlement feel more secure.
I know you really like the scabby and apocalypse style, would could you do a building/settlement which is the exact opposite, like super clean and untouched by the apocalypse? It would be interesting to see...

Hey Davey, Regarding your guards, do you know that you can assign 1 guard to more than 1 guard post? They then patrol their assigned posts instead of standing at 1 post 24/7. There's a limit to how many post you can assign them to. I forgot how many, maybe 6. Similar to the farmers producing 6 food.
I wish some of the concrete pieces in the vanilla game had some wear and tear to match some of the scrappy look of some of the settlements. Or I wish I could scrap all of the existing structures and clean up the look altogether instead of having a crap house in the middle of heavily fortified farm. Oh well...

There is another Fallout 4 TH-camr who has a channel all about teaching settlement building tips. He uses a wire glitch that I don't think I've ever seen you use, and I feel it could save you time and headaches on future builds. I'll add the channel name once I look it up.
Are you perhaps thinking of Skooled Zone? It is a very informative youtube series, since he waited until all the DLC came out, and is doing intense looks at how things can be setup with a pure vanilla mechanic. His builds actually remind me of what Davey could be doing now if he pulled away from the mods a bit.

I've got like the USO mod and some other mods installed but when I open the workshop menu it lags really hard and takes like 20 seconds to fully load. In those 20 seconds I can't move or do anything. I'm also having a lot of frame loss. Can someone help me and tell me what to do?
There isn't really anything you can do, i'm on PS4 and have lots of workshop mods too and mines the same. It just takes a while to load all the items. Though my framerate is fine for the most part, and my bigger settlements don't seem to cause it too drop by much if at all. The only thing I can say is the more you exceed the settlements limitations for building stuff, the worse the framerate will get
I pray you see this Davey, please get your hands on Sunshine Tidings, I don't think theres a single modded build of yours there and as of right now i don't have any settlers there cause it hasn't been properly Davey-fied, have a good one mate.
