Went from being an ilander to grounder, then back to being an ilander due to his hard work and went from rank 11 to 3 in just a few days, end up being rank 2 in the finals. Truly inspirational.
Jay is the epitome of the advice that my mom gave me when I was very young. She told me, "You may not always be the biggest, strongest, smartest, fastest, or the best, but you can always be the hardest worker." Jay just doesn't quit and he has this infinite confidence in himself. He learns and then improves. After seeing this, you can see how much of an underdog he was. He had more downs than ups on the show. But he never gave up and look at him now! Truly inspiring!

Jay truly had experienced the ups and downs on the show. It really hurts to see whenever he's been pushed down. Went from the top, bottom and then back to the top. It was truly a rollercoaster BUT Jay never gave up. His determination and his will to continue to stay strong was inspiring. No matter how much he wanted to be perfect, he still look after others and made sure for them to be the best of themselves. He knew their qualities and focused on others rather not just on himself. When I say he deserved to debut, he really does. We need somebody like that in the industry who is willing to keep their head high even through the toughest times. I mean, look at him now. when K was hugging Jay when he first came back to I-LAND and Jay said that Niki didn't make it back, that moment was so bittersweet to me. K was eliminated and did not make it into ENHYPEN, but he stayed in I-LAND the whole time versus Jay and Niki who were sent to GROUND and made it into ENHYPEN. Jay returned to K saying Niki didn't make it, but now all 3 are going to be doing projects and 2 have already debuted. These boys should be so proud of themselves because they all made it one way or another, and I know that they all care for each other, especially during that scene when Jay told K that Niki wasn't coming back. True friendship and real hard work, the respect I have for these guys.
I almost forgot how heartbreaking his journey was because of all the funny moments and memes he has. And I honestly really like that he didn’t let himself be remembered as a statue to pity on. The reason he’s my bias is because he’s real. He isn’t one of those tsunderes or a ball of sunshine. But he manages being stubborn and honest while also being the mood maker he is. He just has the best personality, and I love him.
When I watched Iland, I always feel sad everytime I saw Jay and Niki, they’re so passionate, work hard, extremely talented, but I saw their confidence was getting lower each episode and expected themselves to get eliminated. They deserve so much respect and I’m so happy that they’re debut together, especially now Niki looks much happier, he was so young but when he was in Iland they didn’t treat him like one, they need his help but didn’t really give the respect that he deserved, I was so mad at that time.

I've watched their journey many times now and sunoo, ni-ki and Jay's stories never failed to make me cry, like.. how sad and disappointing, they don't deserve all the rudeness. Jays definitely that guy in the show we can all relate to the most, we’ve all had those moments where we wanted to do something or be apart of something and others have gotten chosen over us, Jay was just able to go along with it and fight through, he had potential and he knew he had potential. He’s living proof anything is achievable with hard work.

Don't be Mad at me, but at the unit performance I really felt disappointed and kinda of mad at K and Seon for removing Jay on the dance unit, they didn't trust Jay enough and they feel bad for Jay? Knowing Jay I know he can practice and perform that dance move well because he's very passionate and hardworking. It's just like what he said that they get rid of him. I feel bad for Jay in this part.
I completely understand that because I felt the same way, but then I realized that this would benefit the time more if Sunghoon did it, and Jay saw it that way after and I really want to commend him for wholeheartedly supporting Sunghoon instead of being bitter, and in the end, it showed amazing remarks, he gave up his spot for the benefit of the team.
There were reasons why Jay was replaced :- 1. He wasn't able to pull off the spin move and he could actually hurt himself. 2. Sunghoon had been practicing too and tho Jay was doing really good in other dances, Sunghoon was better at that step. 3. One small mistake in that performance and the 3 (or 5) would be the reason 6 ilanders would've been eliminated. So it was better to not take any risk don't u think? 4. It was already late when they noticed this. So they had to hurry up in making the decision. 5. Its not like they didn't trust Jay. If it was so, they wouldn't have accepted him as a representative in the first place. 6. They felt bad for Jay bcz they care abt his feelings. They r friends. But they had to take the decision to replace him otherwise 6 ilanders could've been eliminated. Why I'm saying this is bcz the grounders' unit was strong too to give them a good competiton. 7. Jay would've felt as being wanted to get rid of but it wasn't so. We viewers know it. He is not someone anyone would like to get rid of. And yes u said Jay could've improved in that step by practising a bit more but sadly they had a time limit. Don't misunderstand, I'm not mad at u. Its just that even tho it hurts to see Jay sad, what was done was for the best. And I was sad when he was replaced as Jay was also my top pick along with K. But I analysed the situation and its nothing to be mad at.
I'm so glad Jay debuted. Drunk-Dazed was the era to which I fell down the rabbit hole and Jay stood out to me most, he got me into Enhypen and now I'm a full-blown fan. When i first saw jay in the very first episode i thought he was just some rich kind with an attitude but that drastically changed when i saw him going for each part though he got shot down over and over again. The comments make me feel so warm watching everyone appreciate Jay as much as i do. The embarrassment he faced, especially when they were picking parts for singing made me nearly cry reminding me of how much i've been in hurt in my own way, wether it was basketball games or group activities. Betrayal hurts the most, and seeing Jay stay strong made my admiration for him grow. He really believed in himself and others, without him there would be no Enhypen.
I hate how underrated he is. I don't get how people can see how hard he worked and how much he went through and think to laugh. The fact that I only ever see people mentioning Jay when they are laughing at him is what really annoys me. How do you see someone crying and you think to laugh?? He showed talent, hardwork, and determination and in the end people still don't take him seriously. Jay's tenacity, grit, and genuineness is the very reason why people adore him, ME ESPECIALLY. This is also the very reason why he not only won over many fans but as well as the family members of ENhypen. Remember those calls Heeseung and Sunoo made with their family. Heeseung's brother said Jay is so cool, much cooler than Heeseung, and Sunoo's sister adored Jay especially with Sunghoon. Again, when they received lunch boxes, Heeseung's brother did not forget to mention Jay. Along the years, we would hear compliments from Enhypen's family like that one time Jungwon's mom just called him to tell him Jay is so cool during their performance or when Niki's parent appreciated Jay. I believe we have other accounts of their families complimenting Jay too. Furthermore, Jay was the most responsible among them. Remember how he immediately stood up in behalf of the Grounders and those who were not chosen by Heeseung during their Dive Into You performance. He has shown and proven himself as a true leader. A man of character and substance. No wonder the maknae line of Iland and Enhypen respected and adored Jay out of all of them. And that is why even though TVN only tried to emphasize his embarrassing moments which we all love about him too, they simply couldn't hide his enviable character and personality. So in the end, he ended up debuting in the second place only next to Jungwon (JayWOn supremacy! Ayiie). Heeseung is absolutely great. He is my first bias because they really emphasized him but then as I-land went on, I can't help but be bias-wrecked by Jay. Now I LOVE HIM UNCONDITIONALLY. I am a guy and this is what I really love about him. I hope to be like him. I aspire to be the man that he is too. His tenacity, grit, and genuineness is such an inspiration. Jay is such a hard worker, he's dedicated like no other but somehow it always backfires on him, something always goes wrong and it's so vexing and admirable at the same time because he never gives up. Everyone's had a hard time in I-Land but I can't help but feeling that he's bad it the hardest even though he was in the top group most of the time. It's always the same, not good enough, not improved enough, someone's better suited for what he's trying so hard to do, it takes a lot of courage and strength to take all that and power through without losing confidence in his own abilities or resent everyone else for taking away his chances. He has such an admirable character and it pains me that people are out there claiming any different when he's done nothing but show us his hard work, always caring, always giving.... when K was hugging Jay when he first came back to I-LAND and Jay said that Niki didn't make it back, that moment was so bittersweet to me. K was eliminated and did not make it into ENHYPEN, but he stayed in I-LAND the whole time versus Jay and Niki who were sent to GROUND and made it into ENHYPEN. Jay returned to K saying Niki didn't make it, but now all 3 are going to be doing projects and 2 have already debuted. These boys should be so proud of themselves because they all made it one way or another, and I know that they all care for each other, especially during that scene when Jay told K that Niki wasn't coming back. True friendship and real hard work, the respect I have for these guys.

When I watched Iland, I always feel sad everytime I saw Jay and Niki, they’re so passionate, work hard, extremely talented, but I saw their confidence was getting lower each episode and expected themselves to get eliminated. They deserve so much respect and I’m so happy that they’re debut together, especially now Niki looks much happier, he was so young but when he was in Iland they didn’t treat him like one, they need his help but didn’t really give the respect that he deserved, I was so mad at that time.

Jays definitely that guy in the show we can all relate to the most, we’ve all had those moments where we wanted to do something or be apart of something and others have gotten chosen over us, Jay was just able to go along with it and fight through, he had potential and he knew he had potential. He’s living proof anything is achievable with hard work.
Seriously, after watching I-land I really think Jay was like the protagonist of the show. Like seriously, he experienced almost every emotion a person can ever have most especially RESENTMENT, ANGER, and SHAME (if you know what I’m saying😄). This guy is the epitome of hard work and perseverance. And even after all those struggles, he still manage to compose himself and focus on his work. He rose on top and ended up Top 2 and debuted as a member of Engypen. I’m so proud for my guy Jay. HE DESERVES WHERE HE IS RIGHT NOW.

He's so passionate and hardworking. He didn't gave up. When people lose confidence, he didn't. Those bad feedbacks towards him, it's like feeding the flame inside him. And he's realistic and humane. He showed us that it's okay to have those negative feelings as long as you get back up again after feeling it. I respect that. I respect that a lot. Jay is unbelievable.
And he never hold grudges, he knows how to read situations, and he understood what needs to be done. They way he do things, it's pure hardwork, pure passion, pure kindness. Don't be Mad at me, but at the unit performance I really felt disappointed and kinda of mad at K and Seon for removing Jay on the dance unit, they didn't trust Jay enough and they feel bad for Jay? Knowing Jay I know he can practice and perform that dance move well because he's very passionate and hardworking. It's just like what he said that they get rid of him. I completely understand that because I felt the same way, but then I realized that this would benefit the time more if Sunghoon did it, and Jay saw it that way after and I really want to commend him for wholeheartedly supporting Sunghoon instead of being bitter, and in the end, it showed amazing remarks, he gave up his spot for the benefit of the team.

There were reasons why Jay was replaced :-
1. He wasn't able to pull off the spin move and he could actually hurt himself.
2. Sunghoon had been practicing too and tho Jay was doing really good in other dances, Sunghoon was better at that step.
3. One small mistake in that performance and the 3 (or 5) would be the reason 6 ilanders would've been eliminated. So it was better to not take any risk don't u think?
4. It was already late when they noticed this. So they had to hurry up in making the decision.
5. Its not like they didn't trust Jay. If it was so, they wouldn't have accepted him as a representative in the first place.
6. They felt bad for Jay bcz they care abt his feelings. They r friends. But they had to take the decision to replace him otherwise 6 ilanders could've been eliminated. Why I'm saying this is bcz the grounders' unit was strong too to give them a good competiton.
7. Jay would've felt as being wanted to get rid of but it wasn't so. We viewers know it. He is not someone anyone would like to get rid of.
And yes u said Jay could've improved in that step by practising a bit more but sadly they had a time limit. Don't misunderstand, I'm not mad at u. Its just that even tho it hurts to see Jay sad, what was done was for the best. And I was sad when he was replaced as Jay was also my top pick along with K. But I analysed the situation and its nothing to be mad at.
Jay had the most interesting journey of all.. Just like a movie.. He was pushed 😏 but he emerged victorious in the end

When i first saw jay in the very first episode i thought he was just some rich kind with an attitude but that drastically changed when i saw him going for each part though he got shot down over and over again. That made me have huge respect for him. it aint easy to have confidence all the time when you have been constantly put down. Thats when he became my number one pick.
In the first episode Jay looked like a sociable & cool kid, but when I watched the next episodes it turned out that Jay is more than cool, he is kind & funny.
Woah watching it now in 2024, and it made me cry rivers tbh. What an inspiring and determined person he was and is. There is a lot to learn from him. He is the epitome of growth for me when seeing his improvement from 2020. He is now the best versatile vocalist who will yeet you away with his voice. The comments make me feel so warm watching everyone appreciate Jay as much as i do. The embarrassment he faced, especially when they were picking parts for singing made me nearly cry reminding me of how much i've been in hurt in my own way, wether it was basketball games or group activities. Betrayal hurts the most, and seeing Jay stay strong made my admiration for him grow. He really believed in himself and others, without him there would be no Enhypen.
He's like Suga, tough yet vulnerable. A very genuine person, and they don't like the feeling of getting betrayed by the people whom they trusted.
I hate how underrated he is. I don't get how people can see how hard he worked and how much he went through and think to laugh. The fact that I only ever see people mentioning Jay when they are laughing at him is what really annoys me. How do you see someone crying and you think to laugh?? He showed talent, hardwork, and determination and in the end people still don't take him seriously. I'm hoping sometime in the future people will finally start to appreciate him as an artist and not someone to laugh at.

This is also the very reason why he not only won over many fans but as well as the family members of ENhypen. Remember those calls Heeseung and Sunoo made with their family. Heeseung's brother said Jay is so cool, much cooler than Heeseung, and Sunoo's sister adored Jay especially with Sunghoon. Again, when they received lunch boxes, Heeseung's brother did not forget to mention Jay. Along the years, we would hear compliments from Enhypen's family like that one time Jungwon's mom just called him to tell him Jay is so cool during their performance or when Niki's parent appreciated Jay. I believe we have other accounts of their families complimenting Jay too. Furthermore, Jay was the most responsible among them. Remember how he immediately stood up in behalf of the Grounders and those who were not chosen by Heeseung during their Dive Into You performance. He has shown and proven himself as a true leader. A man of character and substance. No wonder the maknae line of Iland and Enhypen respected and adored Jay out of all of them. And that is why even though TVN only tried to emphasize his embarrassing moments which we all love about him too, they simply couldn't hide his enviable character and personality. So in the end, he ended up debuting in the second place only next to Jungwon (JayWOn supremacy! Ayiie). Heeseung is absolutely great. He is my first bias because they really emphasized him but then as I-land went on, I can't help but be bias-wrecked by Jay. Now I LOVE HIM UNCONDITIONALLY. I am a guy and this is what I really love about him. I hope to be like him. I aspire to be the man that he is too. His tenacity, grit, and genuineness is such an inspiration. All what happened there is still fresh on viewers mind, how they treated him and get hurt, fall down many times but still eager to do his best. Jay is such a hard worker, he's dedicated like no other but somehow it always backfires on him, something always goes wrong and it's so vexing and admirable at the same time because he never gives up. Everyone's had a hard time in I-Land but I can't help but feeling that he's bad it the hardest even though he was in the top group most of the time. It's always the same, not good enough, not improved enough, someone's better suited for what he's trying so hard to do, it takes a lot of courage and strength to take all that and power through without losing confidence in his own abilities or resent everyone else for taking away his chances. He has such an admirable character and it pains me that people are out there claiming any different when he's done nothing but show us his hard work, always caring, always giving....
