great bus video as a matter of fact, its the best bus video I have seen, in years,I like the way the way you positioned the camera angle, its perfect to study, I have dreams of driving an MCI one day and this is the perfect video to study, not even the CDL schools can match this angle, love it
Rode many Greyhound mc9 buses back in the day, miss the old Greyhound driver speech: No smoking in the washroom and no alcohol on bus! If you have headphones make sure it's not as loud as my speaker system or I'll leave you on the side of the road! Our next break will be (town name here) 🙂
It's actually a tachograph. It was widely used by commercial carriers back in the day as a way to record driver speed and idling time. You twist a knob at the top and the entire face plate folds down and the driver would insert his paper tach card. As he drove the tachograph would mark the card and record his entire trip. He then turned in the card at the end of his shift. Greyhound used it into the mid 60's then phased it out. Last one I saw on an MCI was in the mid 80's so nice to see it here.
How's it's going Ryan looked like a smooth trip hey your speedometer do you know anything about it I have the same one in my MC9 I'm wondering if there's more to it and why they were used instead of the ones I've seen in the dash I know it can be opened but that's as much as I know. Anyway good to see you posting again nice drive.
Hey ya it opens up and driver's would insert a round piece of paper that would track driving time, speed etc as they drove. I think a lot of larger companies put these in and required they driver's to use them
@@RyanBottriell thanks Ryan that's interesting greyhound was the biggest company that ordered these buses back then I also wondered if it was some kind of govener set for the speed with it how fast will your coach go I can't get mine over 63 miles an hour I've changed my fuel filters and plan on a oil change hoping that should take care of it. And it will go faster the speed limit back then was faster I can't imagine these coaches topping out at 65 back then.
@@briandavis9975 Ya I can get mine up to about 115 kph (~70mph) but it's not too happy up there, much smoother ride and better on gas around the 60mph range
Great driving 👍🏽u make it look super easy lol My husband has to go for his DZ soon🤪, I’d be shitting myself driving our 45ft MCI lol Thanks for sharing 👍🏽
@@Chesterbarnes1 this is the 'not gen' light. I've tried to diagnose it a few times but have yet to find the cause - the alternator is actually generating so it's not a huge problem
Finally it good to see you again smile

Hey, man! LOVE the way you put the pedal down! Good to see you again, my man! :-D Love it when these 8v71's sing!
Greyhound and this mci bus were made for each other
When I was a kid I thought the sound of that 8v71 was the sikkest sound in the world and to this very day I still do....

Sweet bus!
Going through the correct diesel to sort of the day!
Good ole Allison HT-740 Transmission
Just like a good ole MCI MC9 or MCI 96A3
Gillig Phantom or Orion I Bus 6v92TA
I've got this one also Ryan, how did you make repairs, this coach repairs can get expensive yes? no?
ya it's expensive, thankfully I haven't had to do too much lately but it's probably due for a checkup ;)
These were built as comercial over the road vehicle's.
Very big 🤯🤯🤯🤑 bucks $$$$ to maintain them as safe and roadworthy.
Sitting idle is hard on them.

Nice😁👌👍
Ryan, do you have a jake brake on your coach bus?
I do!
Ryan, there is an orange light constantly on, what is that light on the dashboard, please?

@@RyanBottriell Ryan change the bulb, could be that simple fix. Change the fuse.
I don't hear a jake brake on your coach? Is there one Ryan?
Ryan, can you drive MC-9 straight shift?
Not sure what you mean by straight shift... Do you mean a manual transmission? If do then yes I could but never have
Fun 😊😊😊😊
I'm jealous.....
Please show something other than
the BUS going down the highway .
it's a waste of time and film.
