I love Skyrim and I love the ridiculous things this community makes so I wanted to celebrate in the only way I know how. Destroying the game. I have the entire Mod List in the video description if your interested. There are a few mods I didn't get into this video and I'm sure I missed a ton that I could've downloaded. Let me know your favorites that I missed from Skyrim's first year of modding!
Thanks Joov for the shout outs for all us Bethesda die hards! It means a lot! The mods are what make the Skyrim and Fallout games really shine, and that's all because of modders!
THIS is a huge part of Skyrim. Lots of funny memories of seeing these crazy mods. I remember being on Xbox wishing I could change Alduin into a train lmao.
I think the laughtrack when failing a lockpick is probably the funniest mod to me. It's so subtle yet not at the same time. oh and whiterun water park is also very good
Fun Fact Skyrim Anniversary Edition doesn't actually exist. It's just a patch for Special Edition that changes the main menu, and gives you a voucher for the $120 of Creation Club content that nobody seems to think is worth it. Oh, and there's an official fishing update as opposed to the mods that have already existed for 8 years. Seriously though, it still uses your Special Edition EXE file, and all of the Anniversary Edition mods on Nexus are just patches for Special Edition mods in the Special Edition section; there is no Anniversary Edition category on Nexus.
Most of the creation club content is garbage, but it has a few decent things in it. The fishing questline has a ton of unique items, Goldenhills Plantation is a fantastic player home, especially for RPers who just want to be some farmy bois, Saints and Seducers is alright, the light armor variants of all heavy armors is handy, the civil war champions armor looks fantastic on both sides
@@clipdumpforspace Shame the game keeps crashing. I picked up the AE upgrade for like $10, seeing as I never spent a penny on SE to begin with, and when I enter the Goldenhills Plantation building, or when I open the inventory of a zombie from Plague of the Dead, the game just crashes. I waited half a year for patches to roll out- which they did- and for the upgrade patch to go on sale, and it STILL doesn't work.
Shoulda had him say "I've been in the danger zone" and "Unjustifiably in a position I'd rather not be in" and "You know that I'm the cream of the crop."
Skyrim isn’t just a game. Skyrim is a very passionate grandmother trying to bring the entire community together for the last re-release before she passes away.
Watching this takes me back to the old days. Now, Skyrim mods are all about bringing the game forth into the new generation, and adding new immersive systems, and completely revamping everything. But back in the day people just wanted the shouts to make fart sounds. Simpler times
I think im one of the very few who still uses most of the original animations. I have a few that change stances during battle, sneaking and casting but most of my stuff is still roughly vanilla. Everything else is either aesthetics or revamps to perk trees, more flora added and extra creatures to fight.
It is 2024 now, and last week I found a new mod that adds a spell that lets you transform into a chair. And yes, the chair works and NPCs can sit on it.
I know I’m late but Happy 10 years to Skyrim and this community!! It’s not just about the amazing game, it’s about the amazing people who play the amazing game! “We’re all brothers and sisters in binds now”
oh wow is this vanilla skyrim? i've been playing modded so long i can't tell what it's meant to look like anymore thanks for sharing this rare gameplay when you saved the drowning child from the waterfall, wow, absolute chills
Omg not much makes me laugh much these days but I was dying at the macho man dragon that was too damn funny. The fact you can hear him echoing some where nearby while trying to play the mission was hilarious
My favorite part about this project was the time capsule of meme humor from 2011-2012. Troll faces, philosoraptor etc. Really the advent of what became modern memes
Damn, the Macho Dragons and Thomas The Tank Engine Dragon mods really take me back...heck, I just remembered those MLG Memes from back then too, it's a nice memory, thanks for bringing it to me.
One of the more eye-opening things about all these older mods is the distinct 2010 era of meme humor. It's all over the Nexus. I should've made more mention of it. It was like the distinction between 70's disco and 80's rock. Different humor. All very "internet" but all very different at the same time. Thanks for watching!
I haven't had a video make me laugh out loud this hard in a while. Thanks for this. 😂 seeing this also solidifies my decision to not update to AE yet...i just can't lose mods.
I know I’m a year late but I only just got Skyrim anniversary edition, and I just wanted to say how proud I am of us as a community. I’ve always seen this community as a family, a place of purpose and belonging. We know how to have a good laugh and we enjoy the game, and we have fun. I can’t wait for there to (hopefully) one day be TES6, and I can’t wait to see how we will improve it!
I love the Nexus community, I don't make mods but I use them. To all the modders: You are my heroes. Because of you, I have gotten about 700 hours out of Fallout 4 alone, with also hundreds of hours in Skyrim with what always feels like new content depending on the mods I download.
Just watching toy soldiers charge into battle with angry birds flying overhead and then you hear the oh so comforting "YEAH" of randy savage. That's pure perfection
Geniuenly. I laughed out loud while watching this video. It's probably one of my most favourite videos ever. Mr Joov, sir, I just want you to know that you truly are an incredibly funny individual and a gem(jem? I don't fucking know how to spell that word) of Skyrim community
I still remember being obsessed with Skyrim before I was even old enough to buy it. I’d watch Top 5 Skyrim Mods Of The Week on the TH-cam app of my dad’s kindle fire and was just blown away at the talent and creativity (and insanity) of the modding community
The “a good bandit raid…” mod is hilarious. Reminds me of that mod in new Vegas where whenever a ncr trooper would say the “nuclear winter” line a nuke would drop and crash your game.
This is my first time visiting your channel. It's great I've played Bethesda games for a long time the content is fantastic my favorite part is definitely the ending I love it
I loved looking through the time stamps and seeing oh Helgen, Riverwood, Whiterun and thinking ok its going to be Bleak Falls Barrow but instead it is Nickelback and Castle Defence
YOOOOO the weed store mod! I ACTUALLY remember having and downloading thinking it was the most random unknown stupid fun mod to have for no reason. Love to see it back xD
The toy stormcloaks and imperials fighting reminded me of that scene in Night at The Museum, when Jedediah and his cowboys were fighting Octavius and his Roman soldiers 😅
Just rewatched this and forgot how it exudes quality. Perhaps a reboot of this idea further along to timeline and then to present? This message is Ben Purchasin' approved

Watching this while waiting on the intro of Skyrim and have to say I was very confused when "anyone else feel like running" was echoed. It took me a brief moment to realize that the part in game and the part in the video both played at almost the same time.
Ahh Skyrim. When this game released on 11/11/11 I was 19, just starting college and had my whole life ahead of me. Now I’m 30, hate my dead end life, don’t make enough money and my degree is useless but I still bitchslap dragons and draugr every now and then. Ahhh Skyrim…

I don’t know if it was released in Skyrim’s first year but the mmm watcha say death sound mod is the funniest
*Pssssttt*

Macho dragon savage had me laughing so damn hard. As did the other John Travolta dragon mod. I love it

Dunkey did this like 10 years ago. You've basically copied his video exactly
The modding community is what is so great about Bethesda games
Also great that bethesda made modding possible and easy access.

@@Cailan_Mors especially the Nickelback part

the fact that he took the effort to name every mod in this video
Forgot I did that in this one. This video was a ton of fun to make!
I love the part where he's laughing in disbelief at the names of the ponies, but those are all actual ponies from the show
If anything the Brony fandom completely loves these equines
THIS is a huge part of Skyrim. Lots of funny memories of seeing these crazy mods. I remember being on Xbox wishing I could change Alduin into a train lmao.
It was really fun going through the first year of mods and finding 240p videos of so many of them.
It’s the best community out there!
The Randy Savage dragons will always stay rent free in my head.
As do the Spiderman frostbite spiders.
I love how this video is absolutely chaotic, but at the same time also a wonderful tribute to the community. Great one!
I think the laughtrack when failing a lockpick is probably the funniest mod to me. It's so subtle yet not at the same time.
oh and whiterun water park is also very good
That is pretty much the optimal mod for every stream of any hardcore total conversion. It's already frustrating and then your single lockpick breaks.
What a heartfelt and beautiful tribute to the community's dedication.
I never owned skyrim on pc, but god, the memes...
It really takes me back.
Thank you.
You really should experience it. Modded Skyrim is truly something special.
The memes bring a strange sense of nostalgia and cringe that comes from anything that 2011-2013 had to offer

The Macho Man mod remains, to this day, my favorite mod of all time.

I like imagining the radical Justin Beiber fans sing so poorly, they all use it to "shout" at their enemies.
Also, so many missed opportunities to use the cringe-worthy term "Beliebers".
