NNSA’s Nuclear Emergency Support Team (NEST) celebrates a half-century of flexible, scalable, and tailored capability to keep America safe from radiological threats. Although NEST predates NNSA - and some of its elements are actually older - today it brings together nuclear incident response, nuclear forensics, nuclear threat science, and more. The seamless integration of these and other capabilities from across DOE/NNSA and NEST’s ability to coordinate with interagency and international partners is vital to its success and future.
